Sofia Coppola has a bad habit of doing this.  It happened in shit with “The Beguiling” when she wanted to do the whole ““““Soft Southern Gothic Aesthetic””““ whilst simultaneously ignoring slavery lmao. And Lost in Translation Like yeah the cinematography jumped out but so does the white feminism (whether or not it was satirical that’s besides the point -look at that marketing) So if you’re looking for stories about The Gilded Cage abt rich white girls while entire swathes of the poor or PoC are used as decorations/time period pieces or completely erased here’s ur fave director.
