Okay so there's already 86k words written in this monster so I had to spend some time figuring out which snippet to share lmao. I went with their first-ish meeting! The world building for this is a bit weird which is probably why I've been stuck in the writing process for more than a year lol, but the Tamers and the Wranglers are all alive and are all involved in some way.
Twenty minutes later, Kate is sitting on her couch in sweatpants and a tank top while Addy shows her pictures of Tyler.
“He plays polo?” Kate asks when Addy swiped to a pic of Tyler playing.
“He plays polo? Girl, he was one of the best college player in the kingdom before having to stop,” Addy informs her, clicking a picture of Tyler holding a large trophy.
“He almost played professionally, but then his uncle died,” Addy tells her, clearly having done a deep dive on her future fiancé. “He still plays charity matches, we’ve been to a few of those.”
“How is there so many pictures of him?”
“His social media is so active Kate, you have no idea.” The royal family does have some social media, but they don’t really do much with it. Addy has been telling her it could be a good idea for them to try it, but the royal advisor had said it wouldn’t be proper and the Queen seemingly had other issues on her mind to deal with before dealing with their public image. “It just means my swooping is so much easier.”
“Is he nice?” Kate finally asks, still nervous about everything. “If you know what I mean.”
“His last girlfriend, mind you they broke up a few months before he became a duke, has said in interviews that he was sweet man, but very focused on his work,” Addy says and Kate cringes at the word girlfriend. “Overall he’s a good guy from what I’ve gathered, really close to his staff and very good at business.”
“I guess I could have gotten stuck with someone worse,” Kate shrugs and Addy sighs. “I still can’t believe I’m getting married in a month. I’m going to live with this man in a month, how crazy is that?”
“I wish I could say something to reassure you, but I don’t know what more I can do apart from being there for you,” Kate’s friend says, putting the tablet down.
“And that’s more than enough, trust me Addy.”
There's royalty, social media, assassination plots and even more. This thing is all over the place and I'm going to attempt to get it posted this year somehow 😅😂.
