Walking around the yard enjoying this beauty reminded me of a poem from a Little Golden Book, Prayers for Children that I had as a child (and still have). I loved the book and read and reread it until the pages were torn. I didn't really notice until this evening the poem was written by Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Father in heaven we thank Thee for flowers that bloom about our feet. Father we thank Thee for tender grass so fresh and sweet. Father we thank Thee for the song of bird and hum of bee for all things fair we hear or see. Father in heaven we thank Thee for blue of stream and blue of sky. . . . "
