GSGW Spoiler (part 2)
Kim Soleum can not perceive anyone's face when he is 130666. I don't think there was a specific reason stated but I believe it is because he is more author than character in that moment.
Kim Soleum is always a bit different during the novel since he is not from that world and counts as ireum-nim.
For example he is the only one that can see Lee Jaheons true appearance. This could be because the world does not have to hide any truths from him and he is technically a creator.
People from the DER world go insane when they learn the truth of the world. However Kim Soleum is obviously unaffected and has been aware since the beginning.
Another possibility might be that even if any kind of knowledge (not specifically the truth but smth else) would cause him to enter a state of madness it would simply be passed of to his real body like a one sided game of hot potato.
So back to the topic Kim Soleum is not a character in the DER wiki. Instead he is a author and I think that when he is in his 130666 state he is closer to being a author than character. or ireum-nim if you want to refer to him as such.
There is a fourth wall separating fiction from reality. Therefore Kim Soleum would be in a kind of limbo by interacting with the 'fiction' while still counting as being from 'reality'.
That separation could manifest as him not being able to perceive faces.
Additionaly, he can delete and rewrite as 130666 which are obviously traits that count as being an author. Though he loses his humanity when he uses that ability. His apperance and stability is closly connected to him humanity.
So his 130666 state is basically 'ireum-nim'.
However I also think that since the DER world relies on how other percieve certain things that those affect Kim Soleum too.
Ghost stories can be created per rumours as we have seen previously with that red shirt ghost story. Therfore if Kim Soleum counts as a darkness because he is a good friend, contaminated by the music box and ireum-nim those rules could techniacly apply to him too.
We don't know how far this 'believe' system goes since we have only seen it create and destroy ghost stories but I don't think it is far fetched to say it could manipulated them to a certain extend as long as the original rules of the ghost story are not affected since that is something only a author can change.
Going back we can apply the perception to Kim Soleum in the sense that ireum-nim has already been established in the DER world before he entered it. Ireum-nim is a concept/ghost story that has existed for a longer time in the wiki and therefore as established rules and believes in the DER world.
One believe is that ireum-nim is not human but rather a higher being/god. Thus, ireum-nim would not look, act or feel like a human would. This could affect Kim Soleum in the sense that acting as a author brings him closer to being ireum-nim and therefor those rules and believes.

GSGW spoiler (part 2)
Ghost stories operate under certain rules and one of kim soleums seems to be going home as his wish.
We know that he collapsed into 130666 after finding out that he is not human.
He found out that he isn't technically human but he also started to believe that he can't go home. The wish ticket didn't work and that was his only known way at the time to return.
No phrasing would have guaranteed him going back. Additionally if he isn't human how could he possibly go to his friends and family?
When he started to regain his humanity he also started to believe that there is a new chance of him going home. Specifically stating that he would try again and being more desperate than before.
The cheerful reserach institute also wrote that in order for the entity, that they would summon, to be stable certain conditions had to be met. One of those was a goal I believe.
So a lack of a goal would cause Kim Soleum to collapse therefore he can't excist without the wish to go home.
This would add to the desperation he was feeling and his actions even if only unconsciously.
However would this mean that he could collapse in the real world? There is no goal of going home but also no ghost stories. So we can't know for sure if ghost story rules still apply or Kim Soleum still has to stabilise himself in someway or from.
Adding some thoughts...
I definitely think Kse's desperation to [go home] is fully artificial and the only way the Cheerful Institute found to not make him immediately collapse.
We also have to take into account that from the ghost story world pov, kse's og world may count as a [ghost story]. Kse himself is definitely not human anymore- his body is a lent one that just immitate one.
We also know that a contamination can overpower another contamination. When he was at the night talk show with braun, kse didn't need to go home anymore. In a way, he switched ghost stories
As for going home, I think it depends. Kse doesn't need to be home- only in what he perceive to be home. It doesn't need to truly be his original world, just what he believes to be. The wish potion may also give him the structure needed to keep appearing human without goal. Perhaps simply the condition of [a world without ghost story] is enough to force his body to be [fully human] because ghosts stories doesn't exist - 130666 cannot exist any other way but in human shape under a human identity.
That being said, kse collapsing into 130666 right as he arrived into his og world would be very very fun xd
Some more thoughts ^^
That's really smart
Additionally it would explain his desperation that had a tendency to lack explanation.
I never viewed it as a plot hole bc he said why he wanted to go home. He is a coward in a world full of ghost stories. It's a legitimate reason to wanna leave especially since he was taken from his friends and family.
However his deperation ran deep and made him hesitant to form new relations and ready to abandon those he formed for ones he can't really remember.
Kse would say he wants to go home with minimal explanation this was also pointed out by Braun who said that while kim Soleum says he wants to go home he never mentions what he actually misses. Braun claims that Kim Soleum simply wants to feel safe. This is true but was also mostly to manipulate Kim Soleum into joining his Show.
What wasn't a lie or manipulation was that Kim Soleum never actually mentioned friends or family.
His despereation was probably real to some extend but made worse by the cheerful resreach insitute.
It's like he misses the concept or is trying to reach a home he has no clue about which would make sense if he just has to return to a home and not a specific one.
Also! I love the he switched ghost stories bc he did, didn't he??? He believed that he reached his goal by joining Brauns talk Show.
Not sure if this is off topic but it feels like this seems to work under a "ignorance is bliss" concept.
For example Kim Soleum uses the fact that he is technically part of the cheerful reserach institute and therefore shouldn't really help Daydream especially Director Cheong.
However this was never a problem before. He could work for Daydream and help it no problem until he realized that this would go against what the cheerful reserach institute would want.
Another example would be the Darkness that had a mental breakdown bc Kim Soleum pointed out its inconsistencies. It had no problem functioning until he pointed all those things out!

Spoiler for GSGW (up to part 2 ending)
Can the body of a good friend age?
I know that its part of a ghost story and therefore has supernatural elements but why would the cheerful reserach institute built it that way. Their goal was simply to summon a being from a world without ghost stories and they didn't seem to really think or care abt the fact that the summoned being would be a human.
Additionally, Kim Soleum is back in his own world but not body. So he is now with a supernatural body in a non-supernaturak world.
What if due to all that he doesn't age anymore. At first it's not noticable but at some point his family and friends would start to ask questions and they obviously wouldn't jump to the supernatural conclusion. However, that would not stop Kim Soleum from having enough identity crisis and mental breakdowns to fill an entire ocean.
GSGW Spoiler (Part 2)
Do you think Ryu Jaekwan assumes the Agent that saved him when he was younger died?
He joined the beraeu and it is a job that will most likely kill you. He knows this and when he tries to find the Agent either by trying to remember what he looked like or asking around, he gets no results. He cant find him no matter what.
So the logical conclusion considering their job is that he is dead.
