Layers: Many women are afraid to layer their clothes for fear of looking bigger than they actually are. While logic would lead one to believe that this claim is true, if youâve mastered the art of layering this couldnât be further from the truth. A perfectly layered look will compliment your curves and create the illusion of a more proportional silhouette.
Colors: The colors we choose to surround ourselves affect us more than we think. As a society, we associate colors with so many different things â they have meanings beyond simple visual stimulation. Some studies even suggest that we feel colors more than we see them. You probably know that interior designers use color to create different moods in different rooms â to inspire, energize, or calm. Why not apply that concept to your clothes? Channel some of the power of color into your outfits and see what happens.
In the above 5 photos, I'm trying to show how you can layer and use color in your wardrobe. Here's a detail of each photo:
Photo Number 1: Layers: Tank top layered by hoodie, jean vest and a jacket completed by a scarf... Colors: Different shades of color blue mixed with shades of red that is used only in the scarf.
Photo Number 2: Layers: If you love jeans as much as I do you can always mix, match and layer them. As you can see in photo number 2, white jean jacket is layered over a blue jean vest with white jean pants... Colors: All white with blue and grays.
Photo Number 3: Just like in picture number 2, I show how to layer your favorite jeans not only with pants but with a jean skirt. The same white jean jacket and blue jean vest is worn with a blue jean skirt.
Photo Number 4: The use of color is the main point of this picture but as you can see mixing jeans is also shown. When you match your jeans in color, it makes an outfit a little boring, therefore you can use a bright color accessory like the pink that is shown. You can also step it up and use the same shade of bright color in 2Â accessories.
Photo Number 5: Use of a single color, such as green, can make a whole lot of difference in an outfit. In this picture a belt over a Winter dress, an over the knee high heel boots makes a simple Winter dress good to go for a night out.
