Summary: John flirts with you, not realizing you’re married- to Bucky.

There were a few things that didn't make sense to you. First, who made that white after Labor Day rule? Second, why didn't Doc and Marty take the gasoline out of the DeLorean in the cave and put it in the one Marty arrived in? That had been bugging you since Bucky pointed it out. Lastly, why was this knockoff, pick-me, poster boy for justice and truth flirting with you while you were waiting for your husband?

He extended his hand to you, “John Walker.”

“Yeah, I know who you are.” You flash a friendly smile, a new habit you picked up during these ‘political gatherings’. A habit that Walker clearly mistook as flirting from the other end of the bar, because here he was in front of you, yapping away.

You didn’t want to be outright rude, but you didn’t trust him the second they named him the ‘new’ Captain America. Steve gave the shield to Sam, and Walker defaced it. He had taken the time to apologize to Sam since everything with the Flagsmashers and Carly went down, but he still had an ick factor that you couldn’t look past.

“You do?” he leaned against the bar and attempted a humble smile. “Well, always a pleasure to meet a fan. Especially a pretty one like you.”

“You’re too kind, Mr. Walker.” You scan the room for your husband again

“If you’re looking for an escape, I know a great spot for gelato, just around the corner from here.”

“Mr. Walker-”

“Please, call me John.” he rested his hand on top of yours, “And your name?”

“There you are, Doll. I’ve been searching everywhere for you.” Bucky’s sudden appearance was a relief to you.

John, not so much.

“Barnes.”

“Walker.” Bucky glared, “I’d appreciate it if you took your hand off my wife.”

“Your what?”

“Wife,” you repeat while showing off the diamond ring on your left hand. “Y/N Barnes, you can give me my other hand back now.”

John’s ego and hand slipped, he laughed it off, “Sorry, I didn’t know.”

“It won’t happen again.” Bucky’s camera-ready smile, while perfect for off-guard pictures, assured Walker a few broken fingers- and maybe a rib- if he touched you again. “Ready to go, Doll?”
