HOLY SHIT, so I was scrolling on Instagram, right? And this is how I found out that there's an official release date for Beyond the Spider-Verse. First of all, I'm SO fucking excited for this movie. These cliffhangers keep on trying to kill me every time I rewatch. But more importantly, I always go see movies at Harkens, and they do that thing where they play the movie one day before it's like official release, meaning I GET TO SEE MILES IN THEATERS ON MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY

I watched Spider-Man BND on the 30th, and I genuinely can't get this movie out of my brain. I swear I cried so much in the theater, but it was also just hilarious with so much emotion debth. This doesn't even mention the amount of character growth we saw in this movie.

Before going to see BND, I had re-watched all the Spider-Man movies, and the difference between those 3 and this one was just insane.

Peter just felt more grown up; I mean, obviously he is now, but it's just such a contrast to that goofy high school kid we met in the first film. Not to mention how mature he was about everything with MJ. Like how he still helped her get home after she broke his heart into a million pieces or how he told her about the kiss from when Jean was in her mind. It just really goes to show that Peter Parker is at his core a good person. It's so sad to see all the people online saying they would never do these things, which is honestly why I'm so happy they showed this.

I also loved seeing Peter getting a new mentor/partner in the form of Frank, although I'm not sure mentor is really the right word. He was a person Peter could admire, lean on, and work with while also not putting all of his trust and everything he had into him, which was really what made Mysterio succeed.

But I think my favorite part was how they leaned into Ned's friendship with Peter over his romantic relationship with MJ. I feel like romantic relationships have always been prioritized in the media, so it was so refreshing to see the opposite because Ned and Peter are the definition of best friends. I mean, they were each other's rock growing up. (Side note, I see all these fucking edits saying now Ned thinks he grew up with no friends and it kills me every time) Not to mention the handshake at the end?? Long story short, I love seeing their friendship get more screentime.

I already loved Tom Holland's Spider-Man; he is the Spider-Man I grew up watching. For a long time he was a close second to Andrew Garfield's, but this movie really pushed it over the top for me. It really did feel like all of the prior movies had just been leading up to this, and his story is honestly so beautiful.
