Mar was a soccer player all throughout junior high & high school & she loved it to death

her picture got into a local paper bc that was one hella of a good team and they just kept winning playoffs and going places

one of those places ended up being a casting agency ?? although that was just for mar

her parents supported her in whatever she chose to do next, even cheesy clothing catalogs and the occasional tv ad

it was suggested that she take some acting classes to improve her career, if she wanted to build one that is

so she did, and as she was officially signed with the agency, they started putting her up with more calls (some of which she got, some of which she didn’t)

didn’t really mind the type cast of the spicy latina but ... there was a limit to that. she didn’t feel like becoming a caricature

Mar got a recurring role on an older Zenith show, one that extended slightly after fan reaction, and even a guest appearance on one episode of Criminal Minds: Mind over Matter

which is kind of how she got the vibe for the particular studio -- and what eventually lead to her reading for Addison Cervantes

she got the part which, although not a lead, was a steady future on a promising show, and she couldn’t have been happier

besides, she gets to work alongside her brothers regularly

and tease them

and dote on them
