army of strawmen in the syscourse tag call it the Straw System
'With any other disorder it's generally accepted that you don't use symptoms as an excuse to be an asshole so why is it so hard for people to apply it here?' bc this is the result of the 'alters in a system/headmates in a system are literally entirely separate different people' mindset taken way too far. people want to act like headmates are literally individual people the same way singlets are and to think or act any differently is to try to treat a system like a singlet. i'm all for systems thinking of themselves as parts, people, whatever works, but there IS a danger in taking that too far, and the bristling and offendedness at system accountability is an example of that.
'you wouldn't hold a singlet accountable for the actions of others' that's because singlets don't *share a body and relationships and social media accounts and devices and jobs* with each other. others can separate from one singlet and not another in ways that they cannot with one headmate and not another, and that makes system accountability a safety issue as much as anything. one headmate mistreating others is a problem for the whole system. but saying so is apparently ableism i guess.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
In regards to NMM, I think getting rid of a treatment guideline for heavily traumatized people is stupid
I've seen a lot of posts that attempt to be an "introduction" to complex dissociative disorders (CDDs) or an introduction to CDD terminology. But most of them, in my opinion, miss the point of dissociative disorders.
So let's talk about it.

"Why can't you just believe ppls experiences" I am not obligated to believe other ppl actually or believe in their beliefs thx
every single day I get closer to having Systems DNI
verifying source credibilty: the CRAAP test
this is mostly a problem i see in CDD system-oriented discord servers, but i'm sure it exists on sysblr as well.
carrds are not credible sources. tumblr posts are not credible sources. did-research.org is not a medical website.
instead, for research and information related to systems specifically, it would be ideal to look at peer-reviewed journal articles.
but you can't stop there. you also have to consider the relevance of the article you're referencing, who the authors and publisher are, and whether or not the information even holds up to more recent studies. this is where the CRAAP test comes in.
I used to say stuff like “antizionism does not equal antisemitism” so I could be respectable or whatever, but no, you know what, it is antisemitism.
If you believe Israel doesn’t have the right to exist because of bad things Israel has done or is currently doing, and you don’t apply this logic to any other country, you are singling out Israel because it is the only Jewish state. You are antisemitic.
“But no, I don’t think Israel should be wiped off the map, I’m an antizionist because I don’t blindly support all the actions of the Israeli government.” That’s not what Zionism is. You are taking a word created by Jews to describe a Jewish thing and ignoring the definition that Jews say this word has, and you probably believe that doing this to any other minority is wrong, ergo, you are antisemitic.
The only thing I can sort of respect is if you are an antizionist by virtue of thinking all nation states should be destroyed. I think your beliefs are utterly ridiculous, but I appreciate the consistency of holding the Jewish state to the same standard you hold all states.
Move Away From RAMCOA

The Disney show Hamster and Gretel is actually antisemitic now because its name is a reference to Hansel and Gretel which is a fairytale that has a witch who eats children which is kind of like the blood libel, and therefore we should boycott Hamster and Gretel for its antisemitism.
This is what anti-RAMCOA people sound like.
But worse. Because you're not targeting fans of a kids' show. You're targeting a special interest group for victims of organized and cult abuse. And you're trying to smear and discredit a psychiatric organization dedicated to treating those trauma survivors.
Shame on you.
are you dense?
Sick of hearing "i agree but you could have worded this nicer" I don't owe anyone a sanitized version of my thoughts just because the internet thinks they deserve to hve everything spoonfed to them.
i err on the side of anti self diagnosis because you guys are annoying as shit about it
it used to be "oh i'm all for self dx, in fact i will self dx" to "i'm not gonna self dx but i fw people who do" to "ok i can see in some instances how that can be reasonable" to "y'all do NOT have that shit"
like be so fr i saw a 14 YEAR OLD self dx with BPD that is literally just hormones
most of the people who are like "b-but self dx is good when you research really hard and diagnosis is soooo hard to get 🥺" are middle class white people who grew up in suburbia and complain because their parents won't get them to get diagnosed with a severe personality disorder as a teenager lol
possibilities of why people here think DID is fun.
Some people might romanticise or misunderstand DID due to portrayals in media and social circles. Here are a few reasons why they might think it's "fun" even though the reality is very different.
Media Influence: Movies and TV often dramatise DID, making it seem exciting or mysterious rather than showing the real struggles that come with it.
Social Media Trends: Some online communities talk about DID in a way that focuses on the uniqueness of having multiple identities, rather than the distress and challenges.
Perceived Escape from Responsibility: Some might think having different identities means avoiding responsibility for actions, which is a harmful misconception.
Curiosity About Different Identities: The idea of switching personalities can seem fascinating, like playing different characters, without understanding the serious psychological impact.
In reality, DID is a complex and distressing disorder that results from trauma. It’s not something enjoyable.

my DID isn’t fun it’s just sad, scary, and violent :/
No one talks about how shitty alters can be and it feels like system communities have such high expectations for pwDID when it comes to how happy and easy everything should be. Talking about the negatives of alters gets you treated like shit in a lot of spaces. Myself, my friends, and many others experience this in the communities. Even spaces that allow minors expect you to be so far in recovery or to have as little problems as possible. DID doesn’t just mask all the trauma or the issues that stem from it. Alters don’t get rid of that, they hold onto it. That’s the entire reason they exist. But having behaviours or experiences that are a result of your trauma gets you ostracized
Myself, my friends, and so many others experience this so much in these “communities” that pose as welcoming for pwDID. I have been banned from spaces because I don’t stop younger parts from using alcohol or drugs, because apparently addictions should just be on pause when a “child” is fronting. I’ve been banned for having a criminal record and being arrested as a child. I’ve watched how my friends get treated in system spaces when they talk about their parts destructive behaviours. Self harm, suicide attempts, triggers, sadness, anger, fear. I’ve seen how quick people are to judge or mock them for it. I’ve watched people talk shit about how they’re too “negative” or they’re “downers” for it. Expecting everyone with this disorder to be happy, positive, and okay 24/7 is so insane but normalized in this shit hole of a community. It’s like people forget that DID is a disorder. It’s not going to be pretty, fun, or happy for all- or most- people with it. It ruins relationships, it ruins jobs, it ruins your life. Many people with the disorder are violent, homicidal, or rude. It’s not demonizing the disorder to be that way or state that people can be that way, it’s just part of being someone who had an upbringing of fear, anger, sadness, and no way out. There’s so many common issues that come with it that aren’t even always caused by it alone like addictions, personality disorders, psychosis, and so much more shit.
Every disorder tag and community mentions the negatives of their disorders, some are nothing but venting. Why does DID, the most complex DD, have to be the one that no one bothers to talk about the negatives? Why does that one have to be the one where people hate those who are struggling? Why do the people who had no escape from the trauma they experience(d) have to be positive all the time? It’s ridiculous, the DID community isn’t made for people struggling with DID. Unless your trauma made you fun, you’re not welcome there.

i’m so sorry it’s kinda obvious when someone is blatantly faking. 100% fictives and theres like 200 members. none of them are just alters who like a character. having been far in recovery without any therapy or treatment whatsoever when they’ve only been aware of being a system for like 2 years. sharing every little detail and traumadumping in random discords full of 300 people.
HEAVY ON THE DIY RECOVERY
kids introject traits of those around them, especially parents and caregivers -> most kids with DID have abusive parents and caregivers -> kids brain compartmentalizes traits of the abuser
Anyone with a BASIC understanding of introjection should understand this
