“well it depends on how you’re decorating the rest, i mean – personally the white is more modern, multicolor is more traditional. i’d go with white though if you’re doing a certain color that doesn’t go with multicolor.”

"I have no idea, decorations are being delivered separately and they’ve already been ordered, but I don’t know what they are,” Marlee said with a shrug. To say the situation was a mess was an understatement. “I think I’ll go with white, that’ll probably go with most decorations. And in case it doesn’t I can just run out and buy yellow ones tomorrow or something.” She’d charge it to the hotel’s expenses of course. “Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. Thanks.”

“The lights’ll probably be static, that’s how it was last year and I’m assuming is usually the tradition. I don’t know, the woman’s whose job it actually is is off on maternity leave so it’s all down to me,” Marlee said with a bit of a sigh.

Jace had bought a pair of brand-new wireless earphone with his initial paycheck; he didn’t want anything hindering him when he was trying to focus. Especially with a camera in his hand.

The camera, on contrast, was an old and bulky thing, with a faded Sony logo and slightly tattered strap attached to it. But Jace used it with a practiced ease, used to its weight and functions. Even when he’d saved enough to buy a new one - the hotel was very generous with its paycheck - he still couldn’t make himself let go of this old one in particular.

It was probably because of the music that was playing on his earbuds that he couldn’t hear whoever it was calling him. It was only when they gave him a good tap on the shoulder that he spun around to face them. Hastily, he pulled out one of the earphones.

“Sorry? What was that?” he blinked, staring at the person. They seemed somewhat familiar…

“Hey, you got a moment?” Marlee asked, approaching Jace. 

“Hey, so,” Swooping up beside them, Savannah looped her arm through her coworker’s - because what was personal space anyway, apparently. She flashed a big, coy smile as she tilted her head at them while they walked. “If I asked you like really nicely, would you let me do acrylic nails on you as practice for my night class?”

Marlee was heading to the changing room to change out of her outfit, when her arm was grabbed. “Oh, hey Sav.” The proposal made her raise a brow. “Hmmm, don’t know about that. I need these hands to type.” If this had been a decade ago, she would’ve been all over free nails.
