In the summer of 2023, I spent an art residency at KraskĂłw Castle in Poland. There I dealt with the problems of dealing with homosexuality and the idea of a ban on pornography in Poland. I wanted to deal with these issues and thematize them in my art.
I thought about Polish gay magazines and swinger clubs before the residency. I began to research pictures and think about what they meant to me.
I came to the conclusion that the images not only depicted sexual acts, but also said something about how we perceive sexuality and pornography. They show that sexuality is often linked to certain ideas of gender and physicality.
I wanted to question these ideas in my pictures. Thatâs why I abstracted the sexual acts and genders in the pictures so much that they only arise in the mind of the viewer. The sexual acts and the assignment of genders only happen in the mind.Â
