That feeling you have after three days of vicarious trauma and critical thinking.

That feeling when you attend a trauma and it a kid on the gurney.

That moment you realize you haven’t heard from that DCYF case worker because it’s a fucking national holiday and they, unlike you, have the day off.

Definitely the feel today after short staffing last night.

That feeling when the vacation is imminent and the job is testing your resolve to return after you’ve rested.

When it’s the end of a 12 hour ED shift and that one doctor tries to guilt you into staying lay for one more patient.

Had three days off. Baked cookies and cleaned the house. Feeling that put together housewife feeling just in time to head back to work tomorrow.

When every single dispo in a 12 hour shift had to be cancelled.

Death and a whole bunch of dementia. Throw in a drunken cutter or two and you have my day in a nutshell. I’m exhausted and the week just began.
