My DCP!

These past few days have been filled with lots and lots of fun!

 Yesterday, I woke up and allowed myself to get more familiar with my complex. I walked to the gym and had a brisk workout before returning home to shower and clean up a little bit.

I met up with one of my friends for lunch which was really nice because there's always reassuring when you're meeting up with a familiar face in a new city you now call "home"

After that, Kaylee the girl I share my room with and I started decorating our room a little bit more with lights and pictures and décor to make it all feel a little more homey. She also went out of our way to make all of us dinner which I though was really nice and a really cool way to sit down and get to know the girls i'd be living with these next four months.

After dinner, we cleaned up and decided to go to target to buy more stuff we probably didn't really need and then we were off to downtown Disney. We went into a shop and tried on some tiaras and gushed over world of Disney and what we would be buying once our discounts settled in. We concluded are night with ice cream from Ghiredelli and it was an all around great night.

 This morning I woke up and just lounged around the house before prepping to go to the housing meeting I had. Kaylee and my other roommate Allison and I all went together and it was so awesome to see this program and all it would be doing for me. It made me so excited and so honored to be a part of something like this. The lady doing the presentation said for every one of us there, there were 50 people that were turned away... That's crazy to me.

After the meeting we all relaxed around our apartment. 3 of my roomies took the bus to Walmart and me and my two other roommates went out and found a good local Chinese place that I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of over these next 4 months.

When everyone was home we all cuddled up on the couch and the floor and watched the incredibles.

After countless interviews, questions, tears and triumph, the day I had waited for for oh so long was finally among me - move in day.

My alarm went off at 6:30AM and my heart was heavy. A million different emotions were welling up all inside me. It felt like all of the characters in Inside Out were having a war inside of my mind.

I arrived to check in and it all moved a lot quicker than I anticipated. Everyone was so friendly; much more friendly then I even imagined.

I checked in, got my very own Disney Internships tote (complete with tide and laundry detergent), took my photo ID, got my housing assignment and I was off and ready for casting!

The casting building was just as beautiful as I imagined. The doorknobs were Alice in Wonderland themed and when you walk in it's all marble floors and gold statues of some familiar Disney characters such as Mickey, Pinocchio and Pluto. The casting staff went on to tell us how they interviewed nearly 20,000 people for Spring and only accepted 6,000 so that was my little "wow" moment of the day.

There were so many rooms filled with so much Disney décor and artwork and free candy it was all so beautiful it was like a dream come true. I filled out some paperwork, talked to some friendly people, got finger printed and by 11:30AM my day was complete!

I went back to my apartment at Patterson Court and unloaded some things and got comfortable with all of my roommates and situated where everything would go and what not. I also did some grocery shopping... it's really weird it feels like I'm an adult now or something but mentally I'm 7.

My first day here was very chill. I walked around the area to get more familiar with things such as my clubhouse, the pool and the gym. I found where busses meet and looked up some fun things to do locally on my days off here in Orlando.

I'd say, so far so good!
