||BunniđThey/She/Heđ22|| Requests: Open! Comms: 2/5 Rules are the pinned post Warning! This is a x reader blog and it may contain nsfw and other triggering content, please check my rules for specifics and be safe. Pfp: spiritboundtwins
Current Fandoms: TWST, HSR, Genshin, ZZZ, Witch Hat Atelier, Hetalia
đBasic Rules
1. This is a character x reader blog. I will only write character x character when I would like to and I will not take requests for it unless specified otherwise.
2. I will not tolerate harassment of others here; be it toward them directly, their ask, or anything else it does not matter. All people are accepted here no matter nationality, ethnicity, gender or sexuality. This includes Fem!MC/Reader for TWST.Â
3. Please please please always check to see if the askbox is open for requests before requesting. I have it placed not only in my bio, but on this post which will be pinned. There is nothing worse to me than having to delete or respond to an ask that came in when I was not accepting requests.
4. As stated in my introductions, I am reserved the right to refuse any ask I am sent with or without explanation.
5. Are OCâs allowed? Yes and no. See I ADORE talking about OCs in any capacity, I have SO MANY myself, but I would prefer to not have OC based requests. Itâs just easier since I could botch writing them, and OCs are the creators babies!! I donât want to mess up writing someoneâs baby!
5. My askbox and private messages are always open to talk. I love interaction with followers and would really appreciate it if anyone would want talk to me!
6. Finally, the most complicated and important rule for me. Minors are allowed to interact with me and my content, but if they decide to privately speak to me they MUST make their age known immediately. Furthermore, if they read my warnings (nsfw works mostly), and continue on to read a piece Iâve written they are not my responsibility. I aim to make my page the safest space it can be, if they choose to ignore warnings I cannot stop them. However if they are actively interacting with the work (ex. they reblog it, comment on it), depending on the general age range I will block them from my page.
đAsking/Requesting Rules
1. Again, this is character x reader. Reader will always be assumed to use they/them pronouns if preferred gender/pronouns is/are not stated, minus special exceptions in which I will explain why the reader is using non-gender neutral pronouns. (This is most likely not going to happen, but I wanted to make it clear here in case that is something that comes up)
2. If requesting a more elaborate story/au idea, I would prefer if you messaged me privately the details of this so I can ask any questions I may need. Of course, this is less of a rule and more of a preference just to keep my askbox and blog tidy.
3. Askbox status is posted both at the top of this post and in my bio. Seriously. itâs the first thing you see... If you request when theyâre closed I wonât give you the benefit of even letting you know.
đContent I will and will not write/Content Warnings
I do not have many boundaries when it comes to what I write. I will write nearly any AU from soulmate to yandere and more. Iâll even write random AUs readers come up with. I write nsfw and sfw; Fluff and angst; platonic and romantic; monogamous and polyamorous etc.. However there are a few big noâs for me
1. Absolutely NO rape or non-con type of requests. I understand why some people may enjoy that, I tend not to judge anyone for their interests, but this is not the place for that.
2. Dub-con is fine! Mostly, this one is a rather slippery slope. So long as itâs reasonable to assume that the reader is consenting and comfortable, then itâs fine! Previously established consent is also fine, such as with things like somnophilia or consensual non-consent.Â
3. Incest. Just⌠no.
4. I will not write references to real life social issues. That means no homophobia, racism, misogyny and so on.  I want my blog to be as much of a safe space as absolutely possible. Triggering topics like these, especially with how serious they are, have no space in my fanfiction -- especially considering the fact that I do not feel that I would be able to handle such sensitive topics with the grace and care they deserve in a 1k or less fanfiction.
5. I would prefer to avoid the topic of emotional abuse (excluding yandere aus). I can and will write for it if it is requested, but would prefer if it was not mentioned at all.
6. I will always list content warnings at the top of my writing. If there is content that is potentially triggering, I will put it under the cut so readers can fully avoid it. If a reader so chooses to read despite the warnings, they are not my responsibility. Do not harass me for ignoring my rules and multiple warnings.
7. There is no set character limit, but the more characters included the shorter my answers will be. I also have extreme bias toward certain characters (*ahem*azul*ahem*) and thatâll probably reflect A LOT in my writing.
8. Iâm not writing suicide. Yes you can request reader with mental illness and mental health issues, but do not ask me to write a suicide attempt or anything related to it. Itâs super weird and Iâm not going to romanticize suicide, because itâs a very serious topic I am not equipped to handle with the care it deserves.
HSR, Genshin, ZZZ Specific Rules
1. Iâll write anyone romantically in the hoyoverse games, except children. Do not send me requests asking about dating Yanqing or Klee, please? Iâm more than happy to do cute drabbles about sibling or parental-like relationships, but genuinely what the fuck is wrong with you seeing very obviously young kids like that...
2. I will be writing certain characters with reference to having more melanin, if you have an issue with that leave. I donât care how upset you are, youâre racist for being upset over representation. (Ex. Aventurine, All of Natlanâs cast, Boothill, etc.)
3. Due to many characters having sensitive content in their backstories, I will allow for social issues to be discussed with those characters. I just expect you to have sensitive language about the topics, as I wonât tolerate fetishization or romanticization of very real issues.
TWST Specific Rules
1. Finally, and probably most importantly, I will write for EVERYONE in twst. Including staff and Ortho â though Ortho will almost always be written platonically, save for special exceptions and even those will not extend past harmless fluff. My reasoning should be obvious, but Iâll explain anyway. Cannon Ortho is wayyy to childish for me to want to write anything more than platonic stuff with him, and even in this au, (according to personal headcannons) Ortho would only be around 16-17. An âolderâ high-school student, and he will reflect this, but itâs not something Iâm okay with writing in any context other than lighthearted fluff. Clarification here.
2. I do not write student readers x staff romantically. The power dynamic is uncomfortable. I will also say here that in every single post I make NRC is an ACTUAL college. All students automatically are considered to be the age of the average western college student (typical ages being 18-22, but can be older or younger). Class schedules will reflect this when referenced, and each character will be assigned a proper major/minor when needed. Consider it a permanent college AU. Clarification here.
If you follow these very simple rules, we can all create a happy and healthy environment on this blog. I would like to be a safe space and a friend to you, if we respect each otherâs boundaries it will be easy.đ

She's the queen of tartrus(basically cookie-underworld)
There's a new story now so I'll try not to spoil much: since willy died(rip baddie) she's in the netherworld, nether queen wants Willy to become the next ruler because she wants to roam the overworld and meet the other legendary guardians. And since Willy wants to be free she refuses, and she now has to go through a bunch of trials in order to reincarnated
Also vanilly low-key misses her and tries going to the nether world to get her back
anyways I hope this doesn't sound like bullshi I writing this during a fever âđť
Iâve already been spoiled by twitter so itâs not like I care that much.
I think the newer story is really interesting, and I am so fucking happy Lily finally stood up for herself and told PV that he needs to get a grip. Itâs not like she hates him or anything, but I think both of them needed to let each other go. And Iâm hoping that this teaches PV something so he can help SMC properly by meeting him where he is and not forcing some idea of saving him.
All of that to say, I actually like that PV has a savior complex and I donât dislike him. I just think he needed a fat slap to the face to get his shit together properly. I canât wait to see how the story progresses, and I am very happy with the direction they decided to take (finally).
Oh, and, Nether Queen Cookie is great. I donât have much to say on her but her design is delightful and her vibes are fantastic. Big fan of the pretty cookie.
Have thought about reading the stories through YouTube :>?
I know itâs an option, itâs just not one that I like very much⌠Iâm very picky about how I experience my story content, and I want to play it how I want to play it. Watching it on youtube just doesnât do it for me with games like this, and I donât know why. I know itâs the answer to my problem, but I want to do it myself.

Bro, I'd pay you to write crk content (or any other in that matter). This is the first time in a loooong while sending an "ask" like this but you're one of the few writers that just grabs me by my non-existing balls and demand me to read whatever you write. I thought I'd feel bad for asking something because my insignificant hands and wants do not deserve to cause your gracious life any- and I mean ANY! form of burden- you glorious creature! So do NOT. EVER. feel like we don't want you to write crk ;-; we'll take whatever scraps we can. I could ramble but crippling anxiety causes me to think I'd be wasting your time bro. Gen. I took a break from crk and only came back cause pure vanilla is crying and having a divorce with White Lily... Not sure what's happened so far but I can feel the tingles of a revival and I'm so here for the tea.
Sorry for the wait, Iâm replying between gaps in work so my responses arenât as thought out as Iâd like them to beâŚ
Iâm very flattered you went out of your way to send me an ask, even if itâs not really an ask. Iâve just been down in the dumps for a ton of reasons, so itâs nice to have some level of reassurance from everyone.
I also took a huge break from crk, it just wasnât fun to me for a while there, but Iâm back and the new story so far isâŚ. alright? Idk the time stuff is needlessly convoluted and the new characters donât appeal to me that much except for timekeeper cookie. I havenât been able to catch up to where we are either because thereâs a severe lack of ability to get the new jellies without spending real money (that I donât have right now). Just kind of frustrating because iâd rather be caught up, rather than back in mediocreville.
Whatever, Iâll get there⌠I hope itâs worth it for both of us.
before i say anything else, i wanna say i personally really enjoy your crk works, and think you should focus writing on what you like! but ofc its your choice whether you continue writing for it or not. :-)
but, i think you said in crk youre most partial to smc? if so, what variant do you like most? im partial to ad lib smc (this is just a me thing, but specifically as the actor rather than actual king. king interpretation is cute too ofc!!) and fount.
I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. I do know itâs my choice, but Iâve never been a very self-serving person even when I try. I want to write more for everything that Iâm into, and cookie run is included in that (even though beast yeast 15 and the early parts of the beer story piss me off bad).
As for smc, my favorite variant would be ad lib for sure. I think the story behind it is really interesting, and while my interpretation I posted didnât align with the cannon description, I think both are pretty neat.
But if Iâm being fully honest, regular old beast of deceit shadow milk is my favorite for sure. Thereâs something about him that is so appealing â from his design being a lie in and of itself (blueberry despite his ingredient not being anywhere near berries/fruits đ), the jester costume a show of his performative nature, and his personality being so over the top and fun. I like characters that put on a performance or have some grand goal they are determined to achieve (Aventurine and Phainon being the two other examples), and Shadow Milk does it with a lot a charm.
Not to mention his connections to Willy and PV make him infinitely more interesting. Plus the religious guilt/trauma he grapples with is scarily relatable. I really like him! I think it makes sense why heâs so popular, devsis did something great there.
Is it a good time to actually request something..? Honestly I thought you weren't in a good state which is why I held back for so long...
I mean, Iâm rarely in a good mental state soâŚ
Im kidding! Kind of! Not really⌠but anyway, I like getting asks and requests and I read every single one I get. Writing is the thing I do to relax, and I love doing it even when Iâm not doing okay.
Even if I donât end up answering them they usually give me ideas or drive my passion for writing.

đThere is no garuntee I do anything more with this. I just wanted to write out the actual idea, since I enjoyed it so much. Think of it as filler between all the other things Iâve been working on (I promise Iâm doing more than just crk behind the scenes đĽ˛)
TW: Descriptions of mental illness; SMC is VERY ooc for this auâŚ; ESC is kind of a weirdo, but in a charming way I promise; Silent Salt Cookie wants you so bad and you do not care; kinda rushed and messy please forgive me
âHeâs losing his mind, your majesty,â the healer cookie states, âI donât believe thereâs anything to do for him at this state; we can only hope he recovers on his own, or at the very least becomes lucid enough to make appearances in public again.â
You sigh, licking your lips in frustration. Across the room was your dearly beloved husband, shifty eyes observing your hushed conversation with scrutiny. The news was expected, but not what you wanted. This was the fifth healer whoâd come to the palace and the fifth whoâd told you the same, nothing could be done. He was hopeless.
What was the point of them if they could do nothing, really? Saying the same thing over and over, rather than making an effort to help their king. The very king who allowed their practice in the first place, who supported the medical guild financially when they were first getting their footing. You should have their heads for such disrespect toward him.
Instead of spitting that bile at him, you take a breath and nod.
âI understand. Thank you for your effort,â you dismiss, closing the bedroom door behind him.
Silence stretches a beat too long; your shoulders tense, the start of a headache coming on, and yet all you're worried about is your husband. You haven't slept properly in weeks, too busy tending to him and his fits of night terrors. Searching for any healer who might see him for the chance at an answer, only to be disappointed over and over. No one knew what was wrong; his symptoms were too confusing, conflicting with one another. One moment he was fine, the next he was mumbling about some... playwright you'd never heard of.
"Bad news?" He calls, voice scratchy from the fit of rage he'd had in the middle of your night.
You exhale, straightening yourself out before facing him, trying to be strong, "No news at all. Nothing you should worry about, my sweet."
You take his hands in yours as you sit next to him, smoothing over their tops to soothe him. Perhaps to soothe yourself. They are more delicate than yours, always have been, a silver spoon in his mouth keeping him from using them all his life. It always struck you as odd that he still chose to love you, despite just how differently your lives started. It's exactly why you are choosing him now.
He stops you by sliding his fingers between yours, squeezing them together in the gentle way you knew and loved, "You think I'm crazy."
"I think you're sick," you correct, "you're not eating, not sleeping... You mutter nonsense to yourself-- Witches, Shadow Milk, look at how weak you are."
He shifts uncomfortably at the accusations, never being one to take kindly to perception, especially not of his weaknesses. But you are his wife, and you want to be his pillar of support too. Gently, you bring your knuckles up to caress his cheek.
"I wish you would tell me what's happening to you, so I can bring you peace."
He stops you again, pulling your hand to his lips in a kiss of devotion, "You being here brings me more peace than you know, my starlight. That is all I need from you."
It is these moments he has that convince you he can be helped. Perhaps it's foolish to believe these private moments mean anything, to believe that his fracturing mind can be put back together again, but you want it to be true more than anything. You want your Shadow Milk back. At any cost.
¡ ¡ â ¡âśÂˇ â ¡ ¡
Another day with Shadow Milk confined to the west wing of the castle means another day of you dealing with jesters in regal clothes alone. They spew propriety laced with venom, their distaste made palpable without Shadow Milk to drown out the sour with his sweetness. You're unsure what, exactly, they expect of you. You've done everything your husband has and then some, and still they criticize each decision you make. Advised by them or not.
"Your proposal is nonsensical," a snooty-looking cookie near hisses, "in what world would it be acceptable to send out such a large party for so few supplies."
You give what must be your hundredth sigh of the meeting, tired of having to refute or defend every single thing said. This argument in particular was given to you by Burning Spice Cookie himself: a proposal to recover a small village after a natural disaster ravaged it and a caravan belonging to the kingdom. Notably, he'd asked you to propose it in hopes of helping you gain favor with the court. Only, he hadn't realized any legislation you give them goes unread until the meeting. They believed you an idiot not worth the time, because you are not of royal blood, and because you have suddenly replaced the King without any explanation.
"The supplies are the smallest part of this expedition; the village east of the kingdom is in shambles and needs the official support of the crown and our knights. The majority of our efforts will be focused in rescue, rehabilitation, and rebuilding. The supplies are--"
A particularly annoying cookie interrupts, one who'd caused you more trouble than most, so quick to tear you down with a smile, "Does the king know of this plan? His approval would be pertinent for an operation of this scale."
"This is a village in desperate need of help, the King--"
"Has to give approval, as he does with everything. You understand that, don't you?"
You have to bite back the vile words you'd like to spit at his smug face. Your chest heaves in the effort it takes not to jump from your seat and strangle him to death. Were Shadow Milk here, no one would be so bold as to address you in a disrespectful manner, but he is not here.
"If you read the proposal," you address the entire table, "you would see that King Shadow Milk has already given his written approval at the bottom of the page. He took great care to sign each individual document between his busy schedule; not reading it would be disrespect to the crown. You understand that, don't you?"
The fire in the room cools at the cold words, cookies flipping through the document to find, indeed, you were right. Thank goodness you'd thought to have him do this small thing for you, so you could keep face only a little while longer with your scheming. They don't say a word about anything for the rest of the meeting, and leave in a stuttering silence when you dismiss them.
When you are truly well and alone, you shudder out an exhale, pressing your head into the cool wood hard enough that it would leave imprints on your dough. You had it easy with your husband at your side; he'd spoiled you with his never-ending protection. Without it, the eyes and the expectations on your shoulders were slowly burying you alive. You werenât baked for this kind of life, it didnât suit you, and yet⌠you trusted no one else to do his job for him. He trusted no one else but you.
You take another few beats, take a breath, and lift your head. Greeted by the wide, staring eyes of Burning Spice Cookie. You nearly fall out of your chair in fright, yelping as you jolt upright.
âBuâ Burning Spice! When did you get-? Stop doing that!â You sputter.
A grin splits his face, leaning back from you to his full height, âIf you werenât so easy to spook, I wouldnât do it so much.â
Straightening yourself out, you grumble, âI canât imagine how someone your size moves so silently.â
âHowâd the meeting go,â he prompts, leaning against the table.
And all the grief youâd just processed comes back in a wave, deflating in your chair in defeat. You felt worse to let down his hopefulness, his attempts to help falling flat in the end.
âIt was a sweet thing to do for me, but theyâve already decided upon how they feel about me,â you huff, âthey nearly laughed in my faceâ I mean, how could they be so unfeeling? Our people are suffering, and all they care about is making an example of me!â
âPrecisely why I avoid these proceedings,â he drawls, âso boring, watching everyone go at each others throats.â
âIâm so sorry my suffering isnât amusing enough for our great general,â you shoot back.
The words come out sharper than youâd like, but heâd well and deserved them. Making fun of you like this, in your time of despair, he should get more than an earful. Then, he reminds you why you put up with it, setting a large hand on your back and patting it gently. For someone seemingly so rough, he had his moments that made you rethink him.
âNext time, I will attend to defend your honor,â said so courteously, you feel a little flustered.
Pressing your hand to your mouth to cover your suddenly shyness, you give a curt nod, âI appreciate it, Burning Spice. And, I hope this expedition you and your men go on is smooth. Please report back to me regularly about any supplies you might need.â
âRight back to the politics,â he scoffs, âI canât imagine how this court of yours thinks youâre so unfit, youâre more stingy than Silent Salt Cookie.â
âYou are dismissed, Burning Spice,â you chide softly.
He doesnât argue at all, doesnât like to stay in one place more than a few moments at a time, âSend the King my wishes in his recovery.â
Then he is gone again, quick as he arrived. You feel more secure with his assurance, you had a few cookies in your corner at the very least, but was it enough. You shrug, so far it has been, and itâs not as though you have much of a choice.
Carefully, you collect the documents from todayâs meeting, and make your way to the next stop. A quick visit to the private chapel your husband had built years and years ago. The head priestess, Mystic Flour Cookie, was a close friend of his in their youth â so they claim, at least. The two of them truly could not be more different from each other. How they managed to get along was beyond you. Yet, Mystic Flour had become quite the companion since your husband had started slipping.
The chapel itself had become a place of quiet solidarity and peace for you when cookies got beneath your skin too much. Refusing to put that upon your husbandâs shoulders when he was struggling as is. Adding on the fact that youâd rather the court not see him when he slips into his fits of madness â and he certainly acts mad when it comes to your wellbeing.
You set your belongings by the door, slip the delicate crown from your head, and step up to the pulpit to pray. Like this, you are just a bakers child, a citizen and not the queen. If you close your eyes and fold your hands, kneeling in front of the great altar, you can pretend you are just another cookie. That the witches see you, and they see the most delicate parts of you, not the ones everyone else must.
Beneath your breath, you whisper out your prayer to the witches. Beginning with your thanks for baking you, as is custom, then pleading out your needs. Itâs the same words youâve said a thousand times, help the prosperity of the kingdom under your guidance, let the court finally see the good youâre trying hard to achieve, and find answers for your husband. Itâs become repetitive, at this point, you know the lines by heart. Youâre sure the witches are sick of hearing them, but if theyâre so sick, why donât they give you some goddamn guidance?
It is wrong, you know itâs wrong, but youâve come to resent them as much as the court. They were your creators, the very reason you existed, why would they step away and leave all of cookiekind floundering? All you needed was a whisper of a sign, but they couldnât even bother with that. Blinking open your eyes, the statue of one of your great creators looms above. Beautiful and ethereal, laughing in your face like a cruel joke.
After what feels like only a few moments but mustâve been nearly an hour, if the setting sunâs light is any indication, you stand from your knees. The shaggy carpet indents the dough there, leaving you a bit sore and creaky. Still, you readjust yourself, and turn back to the entrance.
Mystic Flour is already stood there, holding your things with her usual reverence. It brings a small smile to your face, the first one of the day, no doubt. She hands you your items, then takes great care in setting your crown upon your head, making sure it is centered and comfortable. No words are needed between the two of you, and she opens the door with a polite bow.
Night is falling soon, you should return to the private wing of the castle for dinner with Shadow Milk cookie. He causes such a fuss now that the two of you are separated for most of the day. You donât blame him for it, honestly, you feel the same. Something⌠strange catches your eye⌠however. A flash of pink dodging around the corner.
The smart idea would be to alert a knight, or even step inside and ask the priestess to come with you. You donât do either of those things. Instead, you follow after the strange sight, zipping around the corner to see where itâs gone. As soon as you do, itâs moving fast around another, then another, and another until you are so far from the west wing you might as well say your prayers for the fit your husband will have.
Somehow, you end up in the gardens, moving through flowers and shrubbery planted especially to your tastes. The strange pink object staying just out of reach until you reach the furthest edge, then you finally see it. See her. A beautiful, delicate cookie dressed in strange patterned clothes â like a detective of sorts. Though what one might be doing here is beyond you.
âHello?â You call, unsure of how to address her.
She smiles at you, âHello, what a pleasure to finally meet you.â
The phrasing is not lost on you, but you choose not to question it. There was something about her that made you uneasy, and somehow calm at the same time. Three fingers press to your lips, holding yourself back from any sudden decisions. She waits for your response patiently, like she could stand here all day as still smile that sugary sweet grin.
Finally, âWho are you?â
Her lashes flutter, eyeing you with something youâre sure is affectionate, and not knowing why makes your stomach flip, âJust a curious cookie, is all. Iâve been wanting to see what kind of cookie you are for a long time now, I must say, you donât disappoint little queen~â
Itâs so familiar, like she knows you, but youâve never met this cookie. Never seen her in your life. The strange conflict in your chest rings alarm bells in your head, too, but her presence is soothing. You swallow.
âIâve never seen you about the castleâŚâ
She shakes her head, âNo, I tend to work behind the scenes. Iâve not had the chance to come meet you in person until today. Such a shame tooâŚâ
âBehind the scenes? What kind of work do you doâŚ?â
A grin, âAh, you could say Iâm a playwright of sorts. Nothing you need to worry about~â
You go to ask another question, but a voice calls your name before you can finish. The sweet looking cookie in front of you scowls for the first time, a gross expression on her features.
âToo bad, weâve hardly begun to get to know each other,â she hums, âTa-ta now, sweetling~ Send your husband my well wishes!â
You frown, watching her wave before another more worried shout of your name sounds. You turn your head toward the sound, and when you turn back, she is gone. Like a whisper in the night, until it is only you and the flowers.
It strikes you as so odd, all you can do is stand and stare at where she once stood. Unsure if you had begun to lose your mind as well. A shiver climbs up your spine at the thought, perhaps you were misjudging your husband⌠or perhaps you were overworking yourself. You wrap yourself up in a hug, tightly grasping your shoulders in comfort.
Then two other hands place themselves on top of yours, turning you to face the familiar visage of Silent Salt Cookie. Even through his helmet you can see that he is terribly worried for you. Checking you over quickly, before settling on the disturbed face you give him. He does not ask questions, only pets your cheek with armored knuckles that offer little warmth.
No words are exchanged as he quietly guides you back to the west wing, hand on your lower back. No one dares say a word at the intimacy of it all when you pass, they know better than to comment on such a thing. He was your dearest friend, after all.
âThe king is worried sick,â he comments as you step closer to the dining hall, âitâs nightfall and youâve yet to eat, he was near ready to send out a brigade for you. Almost went looking himself.â
You smile a little, âThank you for not allowing him to. Thank you for coming instead.â
âItâs no thing to thank me for,â he pauses, âI⌠was worried, too.â
You give a sigh, nodding. It was reasonable, youâd been chasing that strange cookie for much longer than youâd thought. You canât imagine how worried Shadow Milk must be, such an extreme deviation from the routine you had enforced yourself. You were a failure of a wife to disappoint him.
Tears are falling down your cheeks before you realize, your shoulders shaking with the weight of everything. You had yet to cry, in all the weeks youâve endured, nothing had made you cry. But⌠the very idea of being the cause of your beloveds suffering? It tore you apart, and tears finally fell.
âYour majestyâŚâ Silent Salt worries, pausing outside the dining hall doors.
His hand comes up to cradle your face, wipe your tears away, but he hesitates. For the split second he does, you move away from his touch. Comfort would only make you feel worse, when you cannot offer your husband comfort the same way.
âMy apologies for all the trouble, Silent Salt,â you apologize softly, wiping your face yourself, âHe is in our room?â
âAh, yes, you are right, your majesty,â he affirms, âif you need a momentââ
You shake your head, âIâm alright, donât worry about me.â
You turn from him quickly, not wanting to feel the sting of his pity any longer. You know he means well, but you hate the way he looks at you. Heâs known you your whole life, you know heâs never been fond of Shadow Milk, and you hate how⌠vindicated he seems now that your husband is losing himself. He wants to be your rock, your knight, and you donât need that. You just need your husband.
You step inside the room to quite a sight, though not one youâre unused to. Shadow Milk is staring at himself in the mirror, a twisted grin stretched across his features. His crown missing, hair a disaster from his fingers tugging at it, and his nightgown is wrinkled and displaced. He doesnât seem to notice you entering, so you approach carefully.
âMy love,â you call.
Itâs hard not to flinch when he turns all at once, near angry at your intrusion. A tiny, weak part of you is afraid one day he might turn and attack, but you know him better than to believe that. As soon as his mind catches up to his body, he relaxes visibly, posture slouching back to something more comfortable. Words donât work with him like this, you learned the hard way, so instead you stretch your arms out.
He is drawn to them like a magnet, throwing his arms around your middle and resting his head upon your bosom. Like this, you can pet his hair while he trembles in your grasp. He almost seems small, despite being larger than the average cookie. You like that he relies on you, and that alone makes your stomach flip⌠because what sane cookie would find pleasure in such a thing. But⌠youâre sure neither of you are quite there anymore.
âShe came again,â he whispers, more fragile than usual.
You nod, âI know, my love.â
âNo, you donât understand,â he gasps, lifting his head.
In his eyes you see terror, a terror youâve never quite seen. Something is different this time, you realize. Heâs not raging, not going on a tirade about rewriting his story, there is no anger there. Heâs just terrified. So unlike him, not within the usual boundaries of these fits. It puts you on edge, too, grabbing his face carefully as if to assure him youâre listening.
âShe mentioned you.â
âMe? What did she say, Shadow Milk Cookie?â
He shakes his head adamantly, eyes unfocusing, mind drifting away. You shake him a little to keep him there, trying to get anything more. It was hard to make sense of his ramblings, but if it had shaken him to fear⌠that was something worth trying to understand.
âShadow Milk Cookieââ
âI will not allow her to get to you, too,â he says with urgency, âI will never, never lose you.â
Those mismatched eyes are staring into the depths of your soul. He means his words, and you realize for the first time⌠heâs not really gone. He is still there, despite this sudden fit, he is fully conscious. You nod, petting his cheeks.
Perhaps it was the strange cookie in the garden, or perhaps itâs his own conviction, but you find yourself believing every word he says tonight.
âYou will never lose me,â you whisper back, âI swear it to you.â

đHi guys I know I should be working on my wips but I got another idea that I want to share because I really like Ad-lib shadow milk cookieâŚ
Imagine, if you will, you are a queen. Not just any queen, but Shadow Milk Cookies queen. You werenât baked for the royal life, your family consists of bread makers and pastry chefs, but youâd found yourself chucked into the lap of luxury by your charming husband.
And charming he was, at the start. All smooth words and sweet nothings, he knew how to work his mouth to get what he wanted from you. It was wonderful for so long, a comfortableness in the way you were treated. You never heard the whispers about you or felt any ill will, Shadow Milk kept you from it. Protected you.
Then⌠something happened. He became more paranoid, talking to himself about writing his own story and muttering nonsense beneath his breath. He was twitchy, irritable, and altogether clearly not in his right mind. And suddenly it was up to you to keep the kingdom up and running in your husbandâs steed. Heâd lost his mind, but not your devotion.
You realize just how much he shielded you from the courts and the citizens. Their words sharp and unending, degrading you and all you are purely for standing at his side. For not being worthy of your title as queen. Still, you do what you must as your husband spirals out of his mind. Being brave and strong in public, and quietly supporting him in private.
It exhausts you, it would exhaust anyone. Somehow, he still makes it worth it. In the moments of lucidity he has, he spends them doting on you to no end. You are âthe only choiceâ heâs made, according to his words. Youâre not sure what that means, not at all, but you are flattered regardless.
All the while, as your husband slips into insanity, your people donât trust you, and your court thinks you are a joke⌠you have a small harem vying for your favor.
The quiet, but sturdy Silent Salt Cookie, the head of Shadow Milkâs military and a friend of yours since childhood. He has always been sweet to you, despite his stony exterior, and he brings you comfort when nights with Shadow Milk are hard. You are clueless to the fact that he has been in love with you since long before you met his king.
The priestess with pale white dough, Mystic Flour Cookie, who is patient with you as you fumble over yourself keeping your husband together. She tends to you in the evenings sometimes, when you need a moment to yourself, without being asked. You have no idea what her intentions are at any given time, but her quiet presence is enough to put you at ease.
The strong and proud Burning Spice Cookie, a general in the army and a head strategist. Despite his demeanor, youâve found that heâs a surprisingly intelligent and gentle man when he so pleases. You love to listen to the stories he has to tell from traveling the globe, and he tells them without hesitation each time you ask.
Then, there was the strange poet. You donât know her name, she wonât tell you it, but she pops up every once in a while to say hello. Her pretty pink dough and delicate features make you feel inadequate, but she showers you in affectionate compliments, then in the same breath gives condolences for your husband. Itâs strange, though, his condition is not known to the public⌠and you donât think youâve ever seen this cookie around Shadow Milk. Not with you around, at least.
And, of course, your beloved husband is aware of this. Despite his newfound obsession with defying the script, he knows when Cookies are crossing lines and getting too close to what is not theirs. He holds no contempt for them, however. How could he blame them? You are wonderful, thatâs why HE chose you as his queen. He would be foolish to let his ignorance be the undoing of your relationship.
You're not too late dw!! Only 3 updates have passed!!
Itâs really only been three? I feel like I dropped the game so long ago, but maybe my sense of time is skewed. Iâve been going through it after all, I donât think Iâm the most with it I could be lol.
Anyway, Iâm enjoying the game sorta. Itâs not been fun trying to catch up, but Iâm doing my best⌠please keep me in your thoughtsâŚ
