just want to say a (not so quick) goodbye to a show that used to mean the world to me.
The show that made me a writer.
One day, in high school, I got so goddamn mad that my life changed forever. It would’ve been a Monday, because LA came on on Sundays back then. I was a devotee. I watched every week, read every press release, watched every promo. Had friends on this website. Read fanfic on others.
But that day, I wrote. I don’t remember why, don’t remember what they fucked up, but the episode ended in a way I couldn’t stomach - so I fixed it.
I’m absolutely certain that fanfic was awful. I don’t even remember what my username was back then.
That feeling, though, of fixing things with words, it never went away. I joined other fandoms, I wrote my way out of my own mental demise.
I wrote a book that publishes next year.
All because I was compelled enough by this show to pick up a pen.
So, I just wanted to say thanks. And goodbye. I’ll miss you ❤️
