Weeks after Jax’s abstraction, the Circus has gone quiet. No more forced adventures. No more chaos. Everyone is healing—everyone except Pomni, who spends every free hour in the aquarium watching the abstracted rabbit drift through blue water, pretending it’s enough.

He isn’t Jax. Pomni knows that. She knows it every time she looks at him.

Harper Mateo has always had trouble connecting with others—even her own family.
