First thing I noticed when I picked up this book was, as per usual, the cover. I really love that sword. The second thing was that it was about unicorns. Not your fluffy, sparkly, I-love-everyone unicorns, the kind who hate you if you’re not a virgin. And these kill you if you’re not.

I really, really liked this book. I hated quite a few of the characters, such as Seth and Lillian, but I loved Phil and Astrid. Especially Phil. Another thing about this book that was really great was the fact you weren’t given just one type of unicorn (the horse one), there were four different types, each different from one another. Jeez, an elephant-sized unicorn with fangs and a poisonous horn? Talk about freaky.

Anyway, the story was well-written AND there’s a sequel! That’s my kind of book. I recommend to anyone who likes killer fantasy animals and the like.
