Can any of you successfully adulting people take a sec and help a girl out?
So I had that phone interview last week and it was awesome. The woman I spoke to really seemed to like how much I knew about UCF and the different experiences I have with the school. The next day I sent a short little follow up email basically saying thank you, looking forward to hearing from you, etc.
I heard nothing from them at all during the week.
Yesterday morning I sent another email reiterating that I am still very much interested in the position, please get back to me because you said you wanted to do on site interviews this week. Right before the office closed I get a response saying “We have not heard back from you”.
Well, according to my inbox and phone, you never contacted me again. I responded asking if they had tried to email or call but since it was the end of the day I’m still waiting on a response.
I really feel like I should call them early tomorrow morning to try and get this figured out. Should I give them a chance to email me back or just go for it? Help.
I would just call them. Immediate answers, less chances for confusion.
Hello December! How is the year almost over already?
I logged over 50 miles last month, for the first time ever, which is a nice confidence boost that I didn’t know I’d need. I should hit 60 during December if I don’t flub any runs.
Not the best picture, but would anyone know what kind of turtle this little guy is? We found him crawling up our driveway this morning.

Some guy ran with the wrong bib number and it shows up under my photos for the half marathon lol.
That’s a bib for another race! (I wonder if he snuck in?)
That was the bib for the Infinity Gauntlet Challenge - runners participated in the 10k and the half marathon wearing the same bib for both races. Was your number 2308? It looks like his bib is folded under at the end so maybe the software they have is registering his number in the photos as 2308 instead of 23081.

Wine and Dine "half" marathon
This was truly my worst race ever. There was a thunderstorm at the start of the race, so it was delayed an hour and a half. During the delay, I was kicked and stepped on, which twisted my foot. The race was shortened to 7 miles. In my queue a guy was cracking his back and twisted and hit me in the face with his elbow. On my first mile someone called me a “fucking idiot” for saying excuse me to pass them. Then they continued to mock me and my running pace. (They were walking)
So much disappointment for my first runDisney race.
That sucks that so many negative things happened! (And that guy is the fucking idiot if that’s how he’s treating his fellow runners.)
I hope it doesn’t discourage you from running other runDisney races. This one was definitely an anomaly. Admittedly, I’ve only personally been to one race, but I’ve seen a lot of posts from other runDisney participants and it is overall positivity.
Slacking again on my run reports. This isn’t going to be one, just a quick update.
I ran the MCM 10k (Marine Corps Marathon) two weeks ago. It was fun. I hadn’t gone running around the Mall before, so that was nice.
I also found out just how unreliable my phone apps are for pace information. I knew they were a bit off, but I didn’t realize just how much. My official pace was 15:39 (which is close to my goal of 15:30, so I’m happy with it), but my two apps were off by about 30 seconds. That’s kind of a lot. At least I found that out before next weekend and my Avengers races.
The race was also a good reminder to stay steady instead of trying to gain a little by going faster. I was going fairly steady until I passed the mile 5 marker. Decided I would step it up for a short bit. Totally backfired. Lost a lot of steam afterwards. Gotta follow my UMD self and be the terrapin turtle. Slow and steady finishes the race.
I’m super ready to run the Captain America 10k next week at Disneyland. So excited for my costume (made by a dear friend)!

It’s been five weeks since I last posted! I’ve had a few runs since then.
The week after my 9.5 mile run I participated in a 5k at SLCC. (The picture is me before the race in my Fraction!Hawkeye running outfit.) And I ran so fast (for me)! It didn’t feel like I was, but I ended with an average pace of 14:30! It was kind of funny, because I started out pretty close to the front (a couple people away from Sean Astin who was also running) and once the race start I got to see most people pass me by. But I’m proud of myself, because I didn’t speed up because of it or run longer intervals or anything - just stuck with my normal running routine. I do need to remember to drink more before races and to eat something (anything) the morning of. (I seriously almost threw up at the end of the race.) And after the race I got to see Chris Evans in his panel - so overall, a great day.
My 11 mile long run got postponed for a week, because the only day I could run that long it rained all day.  -_-  I decided to do my long run the next week and then continue with the next long run the week after like normal. I ended up only running about 8.7 miles though, because I wasn’t able to start early enough and had to run part of it after dark.
I ran my 12.5 mile long run last weekend. I had a non-run related incident partway through with paused my run for a half hour or so, but I was able to finish the entire run. And I didn’t feel too sore the days after which made me happy!
I’ve been slacking on making 3 runs a week, which I really can’t do anymore with Avengers coming up so soon (3 weeks!!). My main goals up to the race are to run more consistently and to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Sunday I’m running in the MCM 10k! C is going to be running it too, so I’m going to spend the night at her place on Saturday and then we’re going to take the metro down and start together (at which point she will happily leave me behind.) I’m excited. I’ve never run down by the Mall before. They also have a very attainable 20 minute pace requirement so I don’t have to stress about getting cut off. I signed up for the Zombies Run! virtual race, so I will probably use the MCM 10k for it.
My next long run will be on Thursday (14 miles) with my 5 mile walk Wednesday after work. I’m planning on running at least part of the 5 mile walk.
Gah, Avengers weekend is so soon!

Earlier today, the Disneyland Resort officially notified cast members at the impacted locations of the coming closures, and then shared details about the plans via a posting on the Disney Parks Blog. According to that announcement, all of the following are set to close at the end of business of January 10, 2016, to allow for construction access to the 14-acre expansion site:

Didn’t run on Thursday because it rained all day. Walked 2 miles yesterday.
Ran 9.5 miles today and kept an average pace of just over 18 min which was my goal. The weather was so nice! Sunny, high was 70 and there was a nice breeze for most of the run. The mileage worked perfect for the trail by my house so I didn’t have to drive anywhere.

Very happy with this run. I’ve been worried that my ankle would continue to feel... flimsy - not hurt, but like barely stepping wrong would injure it. Started the run just hoping to stay under 16 minutes, but it felt really good. Was able to keep a faster pace through my first mile, made in 14:45. Slowed down during my second mile and finished with a 15:30 pace average.
My grandfather’s wife died this weekend. The funeral is being held in two weeks across the country. I can’t imagine being able to fit my 9.5 mile long run in somewhere during then. I decided I’m going to go for a shorter run tomorrow instead of the 4 mile I’m supposed to do and then, probably this Sunday, try the 9.5 miles. I’ll make sure to go extra slow and walk the end if I think I need to. Best way I can think to keep on track. Only half a week early since I normally do long runs on Thursday.

Started my birthday with the tail end of my 2 mile run. Since my ankle is still feeling delicate I didn’t try to run very fast, just wanted to keep it under 17 min pace, which I did.
Trying to balance between resting my ankle and making sure I am running enough to at least maintain where I’m at. I’m trying other things as well - icing, compression, etc. which is helping and I’m also planning on getting new regular walking shoes which I think will also help.

A bit behind on my running logs, but I have a new computer now so I can actually post at home! Four runs and one walk since my last post.
I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon 10k at the end of October which I’m looking forward to. (As well as the Zombies! Run virtual race.)
Also, if any of you guys use Runkeeper to track activities, I would love to add you as a friend so we can cheer each other on.

Ran 3 miles last night. It was good.
I’ve decided (which could totally change next week) that on my shorter runs I’m going to have a couple of goals all pace related. I’m going to try to have the first mile run be 15 minutes or less with the rest of the run being sub 16 min pace. I won’t try for a 14 minute mile again (at least not for a while), but I did run my first mile last night in 14:30. I also made my target overall pace, which is 15:30. It’s an easy way for me to push myself some on shorter runs.

Ran my 6 miles long run last night. I did pretty well at running slow and running at an even pace. I have to be better about stretching and fully cooling down after my runs.
