The Girl Who Drank Stars

Right now I'm heading towards my uncle's cabins for New Years so I'll take advantage of the trip time to think about 2016. I guess this is really personal but I think it's important to write it out somewhere. First of all, the year started with my first breakup ever. I had never gone through such emotional ups and downs and it was really tough for me to end a long distance relationship with someone who had dedicated so many resources and time for me. I still can't get over the fact that that relationship happened... It really was like a shoujo manga haha and I'll keep the warm memories with me for a long time. Just as I was recovering from this, I got the wonderful invitation for a project collaboration with Chiba University in Japan. Involving a free trip to Japan. What the hell. I think I finished all of my lifetimes luck on that opportunity but what the hell, it was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I did get terribly sick the second day of the trip because I ate too much the first day lmao but it was a good experience either way. I found out that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got sick while being alone in another country. Anyway, I made some really really great japanese friends and got to practice my japanese a lot!!! It was so fun. They came to my city and I got to show them around too. I took summer classes for the hardest class in my career, and got an excellent grade. Miku came to my city lol and I got to meet some japanese people from Twitter in order to guide them around the city before the concert since they didn't know spanish. I got tons of presents and candies and I'm forever grateful for that experience. It felt like my japanese skills had finally gotten me somewhere. That summer I also got to work on a full freelance project involving an app and the branding of the company involved. It felt really good to get money in something I felt I poured my efforts into... it really opened my eyes towards what kind of work I wanna do. And so my last semester in university started and it went by so fast. I got to visit Mexico City, deepen some friendships with people in my classes and feel some kind of closure with this stage in my life. This stage happened at the same time as YOI aired and I don't know what it had but It really resonated with me and gave me hope and motivation to get through this last semester of uncertainty and pressure. And to end this year, I graduated and got the best grade in my generation. fuck yea man. A lot of people usually say that grades don't matter but this was a personal goal for me and I feel SO good about it. I still have to find a job tho lol. But I feel calm I guess. So here's for an ever better 2017. I feel hopeful for what's to come and I promise myself to give my best to feel fulfilled as a person. Cheers and happy new year!
