mariah henley hemmingway was born the youngest of three, to her pastor father jeremiah hemmingway and professional surfer mother megan hemmingway in laguna beach, california

she was always drawn to the ocean and that may be because of her beach side living but she wouldn’t change it for the world

everything in california was perfect, her family was happy, her grades were good, she was face of youth at her church, it was ideal

when mariah was in her junior year of highschool her mother left, to this day she doesn’t know why

staying in california was too much for her father following so they moved to big sky, montana to live with her grandparents (dad’s side)

getting into monarch was a breeze as her grandfather is an alumni of the school and still buddies with the administration department

now

joined zeta tau alpha in her freshman year and is now the social chair of the sorority

got a job at neptune aquarium as a shark feeder last year

is the captain of the mixed gender surfing team

used to be a cheerleader but after joining zeta tau she quickly learned that she only had time for one sport and chose surfing

is majoring in marine biology and hopes to work as a shark conservationist in florida after university

spends most of her time outside whether it’s studying in a park or planning a sorority event on the steps of the house

personality

mariah grew up learning to have good morals and the one that has stuck most is her empathy

knows she was pretty sheltered growing up so she’ll do anything for a thrill (paying little attention to the legality of the acts)

her family has always been well off which has instilled a sense of accidental elitism in mar’s life, it’s no so much that she looks down on those less fortunate but she is definitely ignorant to the fact that not everyone is as privileged as she is

mariah has grown very good at pretending to be someone she’s not, when at home she’s daddy’s little princess who goes to church every sunday and never swears but at school she’s a hurricane of sex, drugs, and bad decisions

if she is having a conversation about a topic that her counterpart doesn’t know much about she will immediately become condescending, it’s like your lack on knowledge on something is a drop of blood in her ocean
