Gender incongruence is “characterised by a marked and persistent incongruence between an individual’s experienced gender and the assigned sex, which often leads to a desire to transition, in order to live and be accepted as a person of the experienced gender, through hormonal treatment, surgery, or other health care services to make the individual’s body align, as much as desired and to the extent possible, with the experienced gender.”
gender dysphoria is the term listed in the DSM-5-TR in the united states , this seemingly comes down to different terms being used in different parts of the world
it being classified in the sexual health section in the ICD-11 is nonsensical anyways , it conflates dysphoria with the act of transitioning when they are not inherently the same . and you cannot "experience" the opposite gender any more than you can "experience" another race . the ICD-11 definition treats subjective "feelings of gender" as an objective phenomenon while blurring the distinction between psychological distress and transgender identification itself . mental health fits much better

To be fair, lots of people DO use "mental illness" as an insult, so it's possible that they thought that op meant that. Although, I also agree that gender dysphoria IS a mental thing and it is confusing to say it isn't. Although, that doesn't contradict it being something you can be born with because you can be born with things such as ADHD, autism, etc.

I just realized that the term "penetrative sex" strips women who participate in it off of agency and focuses solely on male perspective of things. If such sex was framed from a woman's perspective, it'd be called something like "enfolding sex" or "encasing sex", as if the woman attaches her vagina, which is an autonomous organ that doesn't need to be filled in order to be complete, onto something unnecessary. Kinda like grabbing a rock with your hand or something. We: 1) fully acknowledge our active participation in the process of grabbing a rock; 2) fully realize that our palms are complete, autonomous organs without a rock in them – and that's why we don't say that a rock enters, or penetrates, our hands, we say that we actively grab it, or encase it.

irritated by the amount of women saying “ i’ve had periods all my life and was able to go to work fine , just suck it up ! ” in response to the proposed bill for 12 days of annual menstrual leave . do they not understand that not every woman is exactly like them and that many women undergo severe suffering and pain as a result of menstruation ? just taking medicine doesn’t help everyone . i hate class traitors who refuse to extend empathy to other women
