He gave her time to process what he'd told her; he could only imagine how hard it all was for her to process, particularly at her age. Oliver caught her muttering; she was right, it was. When she pushed away from the wall and shoved her hands into her hoodie, he got reminded of the younger version of Roy he'd first met.
The bright blue hair was a surprise though.
When she asked him if he could tell her about them, Oliver nodded. "I can. Your dad...Roy...met my sister for the first time when he stole her purse and she tracked him down. He lived in a place almost as rough as Gotham back then. I was the disapproving big brother for a while when I first met him but he proved himself to be one of the good guys multiple times. There's nothing he won't do for the people he cares about and Thea's the same way."

While the entire explanation of how he met her father was intriguing and she definitely wanted to know more --he stole his future wife's purse? The apple really didn't fall to far from the tree, she guessed.--It was that last sentence that piqued her interest the most. Part of her wondered how that would feel--to not be so alone on the Gotham streets. Sure, she had the Strays and she knew even Catwoman cared about her in a way...This would be different. Wouldn't it?
She looked back up at him and exhaled. "And if I said yes, what then?"

"Tommy, what are we doing? Your message made it seem like you were fighting with Laurel again, not that you wanted to visit Thea---" Kara was half complaining as she let the man she looked up too as a big brother tug her up the familiar steps of the Queen Manor by her wrist as if he knew she would escape, given the opportunity. Which---to be fair, Kara would. She seldom came over the Manor within the last five years, especially after the 'Funeral'. Her and Moira would meet once a week at a high end cafe uptown, and Thea would drag Kara shopping now and then, but...she rarely stepped foot into the sanctuary that held a lot of the memories she had of Oliver and their time together. It was too painful. Too bittersweet. Too overwhelming. Too much.
Sometimes, she'd land on the balcony outside of Oliver's room, wanting to slip through the doors and climb into his bed, something she had done so many times throughout the years--but never able to bring herself to disturb the last piece she had of him.
His absence was an incredible void that she honestly didn't know what to do with. And nothing she had tried over the past five years had helped--and she had tried many things. Most of which, the man pulling her did not know about.
"Just trust me." Tommy's voice was fondly exasperated as Kara was tugged through the doors--only for the younger blonde to absolutely freeze before she even got to the entry table. Because there at the foot of the stairs, was Oliver Queen. Kara's eyes widened at the sight of him, her hand limply falling out of Tommy's grasp as the other moved to hug Oliver. Oliver. Oliver Queen. Who looked decidedly not dead. She couldn't hear what the two boys were saying over the roaring in her ears. She felt both weightless and like her legs were locked in lead.
Was this even real?
Rao, she hoped so.
Only vaguely aware of Thea dragging Tommy into the dining room by his suit jacket, Kara struggled to keep her speed at human levels as she took a few shaking steps closer to him.
"Oliver...?" His name almost felt foreign on her tongue, and she was only vaguely aware that her accent had thickened considerably, something that had only happened a handful of times since she had moved here. Honestly, she wouldn't be surprised if his name came out in Kryptonian and not english.

Lunch in the cafeteria was completely and utterly overwhelming. It didn't matter that she had been on Earth now for a few years. Or that Eliza and Jeremiah had recently moved them from Midvale to Sterling. Teenagers were teenagers, and thus--loud. Incredibly and utterly loud, especially to Kara's sensitive ears, which was why she had retreated into the library with books spread out around her and a notebook in her lap. There was everything from chemistry to Shakespeare around her. The science was a comfort to her, even if it was far, far too easy with her. Shakespeare, and their English homework? Well, that might as well be scribbles on a page as far as she was concerned.
Kara held back a groan as she heard unfamiliar footsteps approaching, and she forced herself to tear her gaze away from the book in front of her only to freeze when her gaze caught Oliver Queen's. The most popular guy in school. Almost immediately a blush bloomed on her cheeks.
"um." She squeaked, "--hi?"
Sleep, particularly a deep sleep, typically alluded Oliver and the few nights it didn't, he was woken up by nightmares. Yet the nightmares and the sleepless nights had been growing more infrequent when he found himself staying over with Kara. Something about her earth, something about her, seemed to make him relax.
Yet feeling his girlfriend tossing and turning restlessly before whatever nightmare had claimed her had him wide awake. Feeling her rise from the bed and hearing her footsteps, he stayed where he was and let her have time to gather herself before he got up and padded towards the doorway that separated the bedroom from the rest of the loft. The dim light and the small smile made her look beautiful but it didn't hide the exhaustion. "It's alright, I don't sleep much," he commented softly and met her as she walked towards him. "You okay?"
Nightmares weren't rare for her. They really weren't. How do you go through everything she went through and not carry it in your subconscious? They, however, rarely appeared when Oliver stayed over. Oliver brought a sense of safety or maybe it was comfort that she really didn't get outside of Eliza's house--even then it wasn't constant there either.
But this fight with Reign? That shook her to her core. Never before had she ever fought someone who could take her down like that. Could injure her like that.
And honestly? Kara was terrified of that. Not of the injuries, no--she could handle the pain. But she was terrified of being taken away from him. William. Alex. Their entire life together. Letting out a breath at his question, she stepped closer and wrapped her arms around his torso.
"Physically, I'm just sore. Brainy's healing chamber did wonders." She mumbled against his chest.

"Sometimes you just have to hold onto the memories." Tim knew that it sounded cheesy, but what else was there to say in moments like this. He knew that saying goodbye was hard, especially when they came out of nowhere. "But I'm not going anywhere. I'll never be a stranger to you."
Stephanie couldn't help but let out a laugh that was mixed with a sob. "That was incredibly cheesy." She shook her head before leaning toward him, wrapping her arms around his torso. "I'm so glad I found you." She sniffled, "Can't believe I'm glad my nephew got arrested."

Oliver bit the inside of his lip at the girl's reaction to the mention of the rest of the family and he tried not the laugh when she asked what he was to her. At least she didn't think he looked old enough to be Roy's father.
"Your dad married my little sister so yeah, I guess I'm sort of your uncle now. My wife would be your aunt. I have a son about your age and we have a little girl together. Your dad and Thea don't have any other kids yet but with the way they treat your cousins, I know they will love you so much. If you want to meet them."
Her head tilted as she digested his explanation of the family dynamics. Of their family. Of her family. Aunts, uncles and cousins. A step mom. A dad. And wasn't that wild? This was not the day she pictured when she woke up this morning.
This was so weird.
"This is alot." She muttered, mostly to herself, but audible enough that the other would hear. Letting out a breath, Lian shoved her hands in her hoodie and pushed off of the wall and stood straighter, her hood falling away to show her signature cotton candy blue hair. "Could....you tell me about him? Them? I just..." Her shoulders lifted into a shrug. Was going with him a better choice? Did she choose the devil she knew or the unknown?"

The card was on her laptop when she came back to the kitchen counter and at first, Kara was a little confused before she read it, and the first two words immediately tear up. Rao, William. When she got to the last sentence, she couldn't help but let out a watery laugh. She loved this boy.
Taking off her glasses with one hand, Kara wiped her eyes with the other before she walked out of the kitchen and went to find William. He was at his desk which was typical, and she moved over to wrap her arms around him loosely. "Thank you, Kiddo. Forever and always." She muttered against William's dark hair before dropping a kiss on the crown on his head. "--No matter what happens, you're stuck with me."

"Yes, Alex. I made sure I dropped off Eliza's favorites this morning." Kara's exasperated voice came from the deck of the lake house as she landed. Because of course, having super speed and flight was going to be used when your sister forgot it was Mother's Day.
"Yes...Alright, okay. Bye." It was times like this, Kara wished flip phones were still a thing as she hung up, but...with her super strength, it was probably a good thing. Last thing she needed was another broken phone. Letting out a long exhale, Kara let her head drop back toward the warm sun. Rao, she loved this house. Oliver hadn't even asked when he was house hunting, he just knew what she'd love.
Rolling the tension out of her neck, Kara shook herself out of the after affects of dealing with her sister and stepped through the door, and her eyes were immediately drawn to the bouquet that was on the island nearby.
The blonde inhaled shakily and her cheeks burned, immediately knowing what it was and who it was from. Oliver. Rao that man and his ability to make her feel like both the only woman in the world but also like a teenager on her first date again.
Leaning down, Kara took a deep breath of the familiar scents, and she shook her head fondly. Rao, she loved him.
Putting the vase back down, Kara kicked off her heels and wondered into the kitchen where she knew he'd be. "Thank you." She said when she came up to his side, before she leaned up and gave him a kiss. "I love them."

Oliver watched as the girl processed the information, noting to himself that he had been right about Roy not knowing. If he had known, he wouldn't have left his kid to be alone on the streets of Gotham, not with the life he'd lived in the Glades.
Whatever her time with the nuns had been like, it seemed the time on Gotham's streets had made her as reluctant to trust as her father had been. Yet at least so far, it had kept her safe. "You don't have to, you don't know him or my wife or myself. You can choose to stay here and I'm sure Miss Kane can help figure something out for you. But if you would like to get out, to get to a safer city," Kate could argue with him over that statement but Star City had been safer than Gotham since Crisis. "If you'd like to meet your dad and the rest of you family, you're welcome to come with us."
He did have a point about a safer city. Gotham was horrible, and honestly if she wasn't thirteen, she would have already been out of here already. So a way out...that was interesting.
"Rest of the family?" Lian echoed, eyebrows furrowing as she stared at the man. Thoughts immediately entered her head of some sort of Brady Bunch situation. Did her dad have other kids or something? She wasn't the type of the kid that lived in a white picket fence house with a dog.
Her head tilted as a thought struck her and she studied the man again. "Are you like, my uncle or something? Cause, you're too young to be like, my dad's dad or whatever."
