Mateo definitely was the kind of person that laughed whenever he saw someone fall instead of, you know, asking if they were okay or needed a bandaid. Still clapping, he walked up towards the person on the floor. “Not only are you graceful, you’re kinda hot as well.” A total gentleman.

“Well, bronzer is mainly for contouring and stuff.” Rae explained lightly, her words bouncing as she bit the inside of her cheek in concentration. “Man, you need a little more excitement in your life.” The girl chuckled, running an absentminded hand through her hair as it fell to the side.

Spontaneously deciding to show up in a bar was not something that usually could be expected from Thea but a project she took recently took on at work had her looking forward to an alcoholic beverage to ease herself. Her preference was to have a glass of wine in the evenings within the confines of her apartment but on that particular evening, she didn’t think she would survive the commute home without finding somewhere to clear her head. When she entered the bar she was welcomed by the bartender behind the counter. She noted how empty the place was but it was more of a comforting sign rather than one that bothered her. “Hey…” Thea responded as she loaded her bags onto the stool beside her and climbed into another. “Can just have a bottle of Corona to start with?” She requested. “Also with a side of fries” After a beat or two she exhaled loudly as if she had been holding her breath all day. The array of books on the corner of the bar caught her attention and she found herself asking, “So, what are you studying?”

It’d been exactly ninety days since Luna suggested the couple take a break from each other. Lately their conversations turned into arguing - which on Juliya’s end, meant blubbering through her tears, unable to voice her opinion. She’d accepted the terms. Three months, zero contact and then they’d return to see if the compatibility still remained. Or at least, Juliya had. 

Catching the pair, in their old apartment, caused such anguish, she was forced to clutch onto the door handle due to the buckling of her knees. Without saying a word, tears flooding her eyes, she ran out into the hall and down the fire escape stairs. The elevator would have taken too long. Hearing footsteps behind, she whipped around. This was as close as she’d get to seething. “Y-you said a-a break! A break! Y-you said we’d revisit.. a-and talk about it. W-who was that? You said a break!” She feared the shattering of her heart could be heard through the echoes of the stairwell. “Why?” 

Luna had honestly completely forgotten about their little 90 day deal, and they had started seeing other people within a month or so after. They had been seeing a couple different people the past two months, and they’d brought home one of their dates that they’d gone out with a couple of times. They two were curled up on the couch, all tangled together while watching a movie, when Luna heard the door unlock and open wide. The last person they expected with Juliya. “What are you ...” their voice trailed off as Juliya looked at them and rushed away. “I’ll be right back,” Luna said to their date and got off the couch and ran after Juliya. 

Ana haphazardly balanced the two bags in her grasp - one from work and the other from the Thai place she and Yasir agreed made the best spring rolls. Much to her surprise, she’d been quite adamant at leaving the firm on time. Even her coworkers looked puzzled at her rushing figure. Though their confused stares and barely concealed whispers mattered little once the door flew open and Yasir’s familiar face came into view. Was she.. blushing? She copied him, clearing her throat and holding back the urge to fix any wrinkles. 

“You always do this.” She shot back in a sing-song tone, a smirk growing. Dropping her purse comfortably on the floor, as his home was practically her second at this point, she lightly swung the bag of takeout. “I love you, really, but I can’t live off of another bag of popcorn. I’ll get bloated. So I meet you with noodles instead.” Kicking off her shoes, she heads to his kitchen. “I agree with the drinks and movie though. Work was hell and I could use literally any distraction.” 

Yasir laughed as soon as he saw the takeout bag, glad that she knew him so well that she already knew to bring dinner. “Aw, no more popcorn? So disappointing,” he joked walking to the kitchen with her. “See, I love you and I love popcorn. I really don’t see the problem here.” He shook his head at her. “Damn, is work ever not hell for you? Stressful work is why I decided to quit my job and decide to officially be broke and focus on photography.” He laughed and shook his head. “No, no, enough of that. We’ll get you nice and tipsy so you don’t have to think about work anymore tonight. Unless you need to rant because then I’m all ears.”
