Nearly a year after their âhoneymoonâ and the couple epitomized the values of the government program. A âyin and yangâ image, of charming Xavier and blunt Madison, that the paparazzi fed off of. Even her past, riddled with baggage, was successfully re-purposed into a marketing scheme. Overall, the government had no room for complaints. Yet somewhere between pretending to be lovers, and learning about one another... Something shifted between them. It happened slowly, at first, amidst their jibes and quips. And then, all at once. She glances up from her tequila, her fourth shot of the night, and raises an eyebrow.
âShouldnât you be downstairs?â Madison runs her finger along the salt-rim of her shot, pressing it against her tongue in thought. âThat reporter must be losing her mind. A hint of jealousy, despite her best efforts to conceal it with a haughty smile.
