"Mad of what? If my alpha trusts you and has taken you into this pack, then so do I. And more importantly, my son has." Caroline gave a small smile. "That makes you as close as family, and in knowing that this is not your first pack, you understand that as well. Would you like something to drink, by the way?" She asked, pulling a glass out of the cabinet. "Oh, I should have guessed. Famous little alpha, he is."

"I could  kill you  before you even  had  a  chance  to react. Don’t underestimate  me. Just because I have better  things  to  be  doing than killing  you  doesn’t mean that I can’t or won’t do it. I am an Argent after all.” Kate’s  eyes narrow. Oh, this little wolfie has  no idea who she’s messing  with.  Obviously  her  alpha never taught  her  about  the  Argents.  Big  mistake. "You owe me a new shirt,  by the way." She crossed her arms  against her chest. She wasn’t joking. “But if I  catch you  off campus  with your claws in  some innocent   person,  I  won’t  hesitate  to  shoot you.”

"Just so long as you don't do the same to me, trust me, I won't." She gave a glare, before scoffing. She should have guessed Kate was an Argent, that family was the one they'd mainly tried to avoid. Cracking a smile then, she tilted her head. "You owe me a new drink, by the way." Caroline said back, before growing serious again. "I don't harm the innocent, Argent. What, do you think all wolves just enjoy having some murderous fun? This may come as a shock to you but not all of us are monstrous creatures, unlike yourself."

"Well seeing as our pack is a pretty close one, it can be some pretty big news if someone joins us. Despite being a rather large pack, we don't have many wolves join us often." Most of them had been there for a while, some were born into it, like her son. "So I've been told. How did you meet my son, exactly?"

"I know, I know.." She muttered, pulling her hands back and setting them in her lap. "I hope so. Other wise I'll lose the only guy I've ever felt this way about."

"It’s only been a few days. I know I’m not in trouble yet. So what did you want?”

"That sounds very reassuring. But believe it or not you actually aren't in trouble this time. I'd wanted to see how your first few days were going."

"Nonsense. Have a seat. After all, I've been meaning to see what all the fuss was about this new wolf joining us."

Kate shook her head as a smirk spread across her face. Of course she was right. She was always right. She could spot a wolf from a mile away. “The chlorine usually washes the smell away, but I didn’t make it to practice this morning.” She was so nonchalant about the whole thing, like they weren’t mortals enemies are anything like that. “My attitude? I’m sorry. You’re the one who spilled her drink all over me, and in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve already had one hell of a day.” She let out a huff. Wolves were all so dumb. “For once can the first question a wolf asks me not be ‘so are you going to kill me?’ I do have better things to do with my life.” Despite what her father thought. “And if I did kill you right here, I’d lose my swimming scholarship, and that’s the only thing keeping me sane. So, no, I’m not going to kill you for fucks sake.”

"It was a joke, sweet heart. After all, to kill me you would have to be able to actually hurt me." Caroline rolled her eyes, leaning against the wall. "And that was an honest accident. Though if I had known you were a hunter then I probably would've done it any way." So the she was on a swimming scholarship. Interesting. At least that meant that she'd be safe on campus. "Good. Because, just like you, I have better and more important things to do than to play a game of cat and mouse with you."
