Summary: Katsuki misses his and Y/n's anniversary and Y/n can't take him anymore.
For the first time since Y/n and Katsuki had been together, they had gotten themselves into a serious argument.
Usually their arguments were petty and could be resolved within minutes because they wouldnât be able to hold a grudge against each other. However this time they were at each other's throats because they were supposed to go on a dinner date to celebrate their anniversary, but Katsuki didn't show up because he took on another job being a hero.
"I can't believe you would just leave me waiting at the table for a whole two hours looking like a complete idiot! Do you know how embarrassing that is?!"
"So now it's my fucking fault that those people got stuck under the rubble and were about to die huh?! What was I supposed to do, leave them and just fucking pretend it wasnât happening?!â
âI didnât say for you to leave them I just wish you could save me the respect and tell me instead of leaving me for the whole night!â
âI didnât need to tell you! You know I had no choice but to go but here you are acting so fucking selfish!â
âSelfish?â Y/n repeated. Her eyebrows rose in a scrutinising manner. âIâm being selfish? Thatâs rich coming from the man who clearly prioritises becoming the number one hero over everything and doesnât care if he hurts people along the way!â
âOh fucks sake maybe if you had a useful quirk instead of being such a useless bitch all the time then youâd understand what itâs like!â
The second those words left his mouth, the ones he didnât know he was even capable of sayingâKatsuki instantly regretted it.
He knew just by the shattered look in her eyes brimming with tears that he had struck a sensitive cord within her, and the love in her heart had sunk.
Her gaze shifted away from him as she lowered her head and gripped her arms. Her lower lip quivered as Katsukiâs words repeated themselves in her head.
âSo this how little you think of meâŚ.â She whispered with silent tears trailing down her cheeks.
âShit no I-â Katsuki reached a hand out to her but was quickly brushed off as Y/n stepped away, hugging her quivering self tight.
He wanted to pull her back, to retract his words and say they werenât true and tell Y/n how much he needed her, but the damage had been done as Y/n took her bag off the kitchen counter and slowly walked away.
As Katsuki watched her with a pained look in his eyes and clenched fistâhe heard it. Even if she wasnât speaking to him directly, he knew she was talking to the Katsuki she had once considered her boyfriend.
âDonât make me fall in love with you ever again.â
Katsuki cursed at himself and banged his fist against the counter. All the memorable times they shared, the days they spent wrapped up in each otherâs arms or entertained by each otherâs presence were now but just a fleeting memory, as Katsuki was left alone for the entire night.
