"You know I can be nice and caring a lot of the time, nothing like that father of mine.” Mallory tutted, seeing the others face when she showed up at the door with soup, ice cream and some movies. “Come on, Val is busy and can’t be the mama bear for once and I have nothing better to do- so I guess I’ll come and feel sorry for you for a bit.”

There were very few times in which Mallory took an elevator, most of the time she would opt for the stairs rather than being stuck in a small box. However she had been feeling lazy today and as the machine jolted and the lights flickered, she couldn’t help but think it was karma. “Erm-... it’s not supposed to do that, right? Or is it normal and we should be moving again any second.” She commented to the other girl with her, her voice rising an octave as she spoke.

Harold nodded, “And we wouldn’t want that,” He said in all seriousness, “Where are you headed?”

“Well I wouldn’t, what you want is still a mystery to me.” Mallory commented as he looked to her father for a brief moment. “Home- no point in telling you where that is since you’ve already stalked me there once before.”

“It would be kind of weird with my powers if I wasn’t.”

“I mean, not everyone has positive connections with their powers. I can’t imagine every pyro loves fire and I’m not hugely crazy about the weather.”

Tobias frowned for a moment at her words and tone but decided not to say anything about it. He nodded and kicked the ball towards her before stepping in front of the goal, “Alright, give it your best shot.”

Mallory watched as the ball rolled to her feet and then back to the other. She positioned herself in line with the goal, took a couple steps back before closing the space once again, kicking the ball as she went. “How was that?”

Juliette barely lowered her sunglasses to survey the other. “ Are you new to Grove Harbour ? I don’t believe we’ve met before. ” Only her barely perceptible smirk would reveal any hint of a lie, but this was a small town, and they had appearances to maintain in front of others, didn’t they ?

Mallory knew that voice, it sent a shiver down her spine before she even turned her head. “What are you doing here.” She all but hissed under her breath, moving closer to the other under the false disguise of them simply being friends, hanging out in the warm weather. “Did my father send you? Am I supposed to expect more of you to just turn up and start following me around town until I feel forced to move.”

“Hey, if I’m okay with it, I’m sure Val will be. Y’know me and my garden.”

“You make a good point, you are the one with the green thumb around here after all.”

“I’m not here to blame you,” he promised, opening up his umbrella and holding it over his own head. “I came to share my umbrella– if you’d like to. Where were you heading before the downpour started?”

“Home.” She commented, moving under the umbrella with the other and shivering from the cold due to getting caught before finding shelter. “I was on my way back from the bar and well- this happened. I’ve sort of just been hiding under there ever since.”

“It’s soccer, Mal. You kick it. You try and kick it into the goal and I try and stop it,” Tobias said, “Or we can swap and I’ll kick and you try and stop it.”

“Well I didn’t exactly play a lot of soccer growing up.” She had more tasking duties to take part in, like non stop training until she could barely hold herself up. “I think I’ll do the kicking, I don’t really fancy trying to catch anything you kick at me.”

“I swear this time it was by accident, Mallory,” Harold said, calmly. Surprisingly it was. He had only been walking home from work when he’d seen her, “You can’t be so stubborn that you won’t come under this umbrella. There’s plenty of room for both of us and you’ll be drier.”

Mallory weighed her options, looking around to see if there was anyone watching before moving closer to the other so she was standing under the umbrella, “I’m only doing this because I don’t want to get sick, no other reason.” She told the other.

“If it turns out Val wasn’t okay with us turning the garden into a pool and bar situation that would make Jimmy Buffet proud. I am totally putting the blame on you, just saying.”

“Hey- I was just about to close up but do you want to dive in here and I’ll call you a cab or something?” Mallory called out to the girl who seemed to be getting rather drenched out in the nightly rain. 

“If you think I know what I’m supposed to be doing without some sort of instruction then you clearly don’t know me very well.” Mallory chuckled looking at the other. “Do I kick it, throw it-.. any guidance?”

“When will you learn to just leave me alone.” Mallory all but shouted at the other, “Everywhere I turn it’s like you’re there and it’s becoming highly frustrating.” She groaned, not caring for the fact that the rain was now pouring down on her, soaking her hair and her clothes.
