James had missed her touch so much - her touch was the one that was able to calm him down in a flash, the one that could easily remind him that she was the only thing that real in that moment. Maliaâs was the only touch that he needed, and he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, pulling her towards him, not wanting to let her go.

[Â Her empty amber eyes were bordered by dark circles in pale, almost grey, skin; full lips cracked and scabbed. Her dull skin hugged tightly to her emaciated frame, thanks to the lack of nutrition the Erudite scientists provided her. Her hair hung limply, eyes mildly sunken, and she stumbled down the hallway, catching herself with her hand on the wall.Â
Her parents found out she was alive, and they heard about the loss of one of her abilities. While sheâd been sleeping, theyâd sent for someone to come and steal her away to Erudite where they willingly handed her off to a group of scientists who were more than happy to test on her just as they had been when she was little. Her parents didnât care that the scientists were horrid to her, they just wanted her fixed. Eventually, though, the teen was able to slip out of the cell theyâd held her in and make her way back to Dauntless with every ounce of strength she had left.Â
Once sheâd finally made her way back into the compound and was close enough to what sheâd determined as âsafetyâ, Celesteâs legs practically gave out and she hit the ground. ]Â
"It's the motherfucking zombie apocalypse." The words are a mumbled whisper and the minute Malia sees Celeste fall, she rushes forward, a long sigh slipping past her lips. She's crouching on the ground beside the girl before she knows what she's doing, reaching out to keep a leg behind her head, craddling it off the ground. She sits there until the girls eyes start to flutter open and then the redhead stands, dusting the dirt off her black jeans.
"Right. Get the fuck up. I'm not strong enough to carry you and you seriously don't want me to drag you across this compound to the infirmary."
