Izaya was starting to wonder if this was a good idea, but really– He had long since grown bored of the ant farm anyway, so it was nice that he would be able to pawn it off to someone else. He probably could have just found a park somewhere to dump the things, but he didn’t really have the time to go running off to a park somewhere just to free them. Well, this was probably better than Adachi dumping them in his bed.

“To be honest, it’s because he’s scared of bugs. I think.”

Izaya face shifted into a pout as he handed the boy the glass case gingerly, pulling his hands away after a moment to make sure he wouldn’t allow it to accidentally drop, his arms crossing over her chest as he sighed.

“It’s gotten to the point where I’ve been coming home lately to them being in the fridge! I think he’s trying to make them cold enough to freeze to death, can you believe that~!”

If Touhru-kun wasn’t an idiot, he’d have stuck them in the freezer.

“He’s mean to you? Maybe you should move out?” He proposed, hugging the ant farm close to his chest, definitely not wanting to drop it in the middle of the lobby. “Did you guys know each other before you were roommates? It’s kind of unusual to have a guy and a girl rooming together... Unless--”

His jaw dropped slightly. “Oh-- is he your boyfriend?”

He shuffled and glanced at the floor, eyes moving to the object he was holding as Kanra explained a little more about it - like he had any idea what she was even talking about.

“ Huh?  Who are the Titans?  Are they just another group?  Because I’ve never heard of that, honestly …  I mean, I guess I don’t keep up with everyone these days, though.  Being a cop is pretty draining as it is, you know?  Haha … ”

> Adachi is scratching his head in embarrassment …

“ Uh, but I guessed because your name.  I actually took some German in high school, so …  I mean, I’m pretty rusty now, and I’m obviously better at English – I mean, here I am speaking it, right?  Haha! …  But, yeah, it was a lucky guess. ”

> Suddenly, Adachi sits up straight … > … ? > He’s grinning mischievously again … ♪

“ Oh yeah, so what’s your favorite kind of girl?  You got a type? ”

“They’re... a group, yeah. I don’t know where they came from. But they’re really just ginormous human-like beings? Except they can’t speak, and all they do is destroy things. And eat humans.”

> He lights up when you mention that you studied German.

“Really? That’s pretty cool! So you know three languages?”

> “Hell yeah!”       > “Uh, what...?”

“I mean, I dunno if I have a type, but... girls are nice, yeah.”

> He looks embarrassed now.

The doors opened after a moment of him reaching the lobby, and the informant’s attention was immediately pulled by the sound of someone calling his ‘name’. Copper eyes looked around curiously as he stepped out of the elevator, finally centering on a teenage boy that was looking at him.

Izaya’s expression shifted from curiosity to what could be a smile of both relief and warmth. He tilted his head slightly, adjusting his hold on the ant farm in his arms as he approached the boy. The sound of his toes tapping against tiled floors just barely reached his ears over the sound of the other’s that were currently on their way in or out of the apartment complex.

He hadn’t dressed like this in a far while, so he had forgotten how foreign the sensation of a skirt brushing against his bare thighs was. The fact that he was a bit bothered by it didn’t show, however– Instead he walked with practiced grace, practically gliding over the space between the two of them until he was standing a polite distance from the kid.

“Hi, you’re Eren I take it? Pleased to meet you~!”

His voice was also at a practiced octave, high enough that it didn’t sound forced, but still low enough that it didn’t overly strain his vocal cords. His very appearance was that of what he was attempting: A harmless, friendly, and generally inauspicious woman.

“Yeah, that’s me!” Eren gave a warm, excited smile in her direction, shoving his hands into his pockets as she closed the distance between them enough where they could talk. “Hah-- no problem! It sounded kinda interesting, so I thought why not?” He bent over slightly to get a closer look at the small box, eyebrows furrowed in curiosity.

“Why did your roommate want to toss it out?” He asked, standing back up before holding out his hands to take it from her. “And I hope not-- he’s not a fan of anything that involves dirt, but as long as it doesn’t spill, I guess.” The brunet shrugged. Too late to back out now.
