HOO-EE !

The Synthetic Pokémon gave a rather excited chirrup at the offered food, almost immediately grabbing the fried bread with their jaws - while being rather careful not to bite Hau, of course - before lying down on the floor and holding it with their claws as they ate. Gladion gave a far less enthusiastic reaction, though nodded his head slightly in thanks nonetheless.

The former enforcer used the time it took to actually contemplate his answer to the question that had been posed in order to get a bite or two of the pastry - a Sweet one, much to his surprise. He made no attempt to speak until he had swallowed the food in his mouth, sighing softly to himself.

   – “It’s alright, I suppose-… Certainly much better than that run-down motel…”

… There seemed to be a few seconds of hesitation, resulting in a short, awkward silence. Eventually Gladion’s voice was heard again, one pale hand moving to scratch at his sleeve almost nervously.

   – “Hey, speaking of-… Hau… I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”

Hau was pleased seeing the large pokemon enjoy its meal -- and even more so seeing Gladion actually EAT for once. Not that he didn’t! It just -- made Hau happy that Gladion had accepted the pastry and even delved into it... 

{Acerola watches Hau with amusement– and her smile only seems to grow as she watches him struggle to find the gift. It was just like Hau to lose something he had just gotten, wasn’t it? She can’t help but laugh!}

“What’s wrong, Hau?”

“You lost something? Did you check your pockets?”

The blonde looked up as soon as the door to the room had opened, taking his attention off of his Silvally for a moment to meet the other boy’s gaze. He had been quietly brushing his partner’s fur, though he paused in his actions in order to pay attention to the conversation.

   – “Huh? Oh, well, I guess so. Thanks.”

Quite honestly, the other’s kind attitude towards him was a bit surprising to the enforcer. It was something that he had yet to get used to… though he supposed he could at least refrain from pushing them away like he usually did.

A hum of a laugh left him as he entered the room and sat by his friend, offering the beast near them one malasada and Gladion another. “You’re welcome!” Hau chirped, pulling his orange pack onto his lap and taking out his own malasada to snack on. 

It was nice, Hau noted. It wasn’t very long that the Ex-Team Skull member had been living with him and his grandfather, but the brunet could definitely tell the blond was trying his best to settle, and Hau felt glee welling up in his chest whenever he thought about it. He wanted to do his best to make Gladion feel at home here!

     Alicia watched the pair a moment before letting out her Primarina, running over with him, giving a grin. “You sure do!” She chimed in, playing splashing a little too close to the other, intending on splashing him even more.

Turning once he heard nearing splashing, Hau grinned, waving to her.

Ruby blinked surprised with his eyes. “Super cool? That’s the first time someone my name sounds cool. Usually they say it’s girly. I think my name is refined and sophisticated though. Sounds me perfectly.”

“Well, look who the Meowth dragged in! It’s been ages, Hau!”

“And you remembered your manners and brought me a present, too! Aren’t you just something else?”

A smile blossomed on his face as he took his pack from behind and began rummaging through it. “Thanks ! Heehee ! I found this Da kine and I thought you’d- Eh...” The brunet paused mid-sentence. “Um... Ah- hold on ! It was just in...” Kneeling down, he dumped the contents onto the ground and went through it- what he was looking for was no where to be seen. 

“Going to Iki town to pay respect to Tapu Koko I was just roaming Alola for the berry spots before seeing you.” Rubbing the back of her head with small flush “I’m glad I bumped into you I was getting beat, hearing your joke helped.”
