C!Mapicc only finding out Spoke is a zombie because on the second day they met, his leg slumped off with his armor (the smell? the fact that he never noticed his injuries? hello?). Mapicc stitching spoke’s leg back to his torso, trying not to drool on the cold skin.

The closer he is to Spoke, the more he can see the stitch-work from previous incidents across his skin. It’s on his wrists, just below the knee on his other leg, and even stitched across his neck. He can’t not stare, he barely keeps his hands steady as he pulls spoke’s leg back onto his thigh.

Of course Spoke notices. Why wouldn’t he? He notices Mapicc bite his lip and swallow the excess spit pooling beneath his tongue. He notices how his eyes trace every pale-line he can see. It feels tense. It feels awkward and it makes Spoke angry and upset and he feels a warm feeling rise up and down from his chest to his gut.

Mapicc doesn’t eat Spoke. He would never. He feels guilty for even wanting to, and even biting him in that way makes his stomach hurt. Spoke bites Mapicc, but not in a way that hurts him. Mapicc is at credit for that, because everytime Spoke bites he has to keep his hand on Spoke’s hair. He’s fully aware Spoke is capable of taking a piece of his hand off, so everytime he thinks he’s about to lose a part of his flesh he has to tear Spoke off. But sometimes, Spoke is so lost in it he reverts back to his instincts, trying to come back for a bite. This doesn’t scare Mapicc anymore, because usually Spoke snaps back after Mapicc says his name a few times.

Spoke sometimes wishes Mapicc would eat him. Not in the savage way Spoke wants to, but he likes the idea of watching Mapicc eat parts of him— his leg, maybe his hip—just across the table from him. He wants Mapicc to wrap him up, healing the wounds he made. It gets Spoke more riled up than it should.
