As I gaze out the window, I see the neighborhood that looms there everyday. I seem to see the same people, or types of people, all huddled into the warmth of their homes. Given my worsening eyesight, everything is literally gray. An existence of boredom, gloom, and an uncaring world. But that is just one perspective. If I look with different eyes, I'll see that the monochromatic gloom of a seemed-hurricaneâs rain is soon turned to orange by the morning sun, which peaks over the horizon slowly. I'll see that the woman walking down the street has bright colors on her blouse, signifying glee or hope or optimism, perhaps, yet hidden by a fashionable grey. Her mood seems to resemble the weather, despite her yellow umbrella. Or perhaps the umbrella was on sale. Regardless, that scene has done its purpose. It has showed me, and now you, that perspective is as simple as the changing of a moment. A thought. A realization. One that opens other eyes and minds that the reality is that there are more colors and things in life than the blandness of our seemed existence. There is the sun, now covered in a gray jacket of clouds, and bright, shiny people that light up our lives, and do give us hope to carry on. Despite the graying clouds, this weekend, find hope where you can when you see an existence of boredom, gloom, and an uncaring world. Or⌠Find an umbrella. Thatâs what an umbrella does. Like a good friend, they shield us from the gloom. They are even better when found on sale. https://www.instagram.com/p/CVneprHl7gM/?utm_medium=tumblr
