First, i must preface this by saying that these duos are doing their own things: they have different dynamics, different history, different personalities and relationships (in canon). BUT certain obkk tropes and storytelling elements keep surfacing for orufrey too.

When i got to tiny orufrey chapters, kid Oruru reminded me so much of Obito, that i thought of my friend @maireyart 's Prodigy Obito AU which leads us to the first parallel:

One of them is a prodigy ✓ Naruto: Kakashi, the son of the White Fang, who became jounin capitan as a pre-teen and could developed his own jutsu WHA: Olruggio was a renowned baby genius of a northern city (that traded him as a prize to request more witches to settle in their lands)

Survivor’s guilt ✓ Naruto: Kakashi after surviving the Kannabi Bridge tragedy WHA: Olruggio managed to survive and save (only) two people in a beast attack

I said that Olruggio reminded me of Obito, not Kakashi - and that's mostly due to that one key parallel:

One sacrifices for the sake of another ✓ Naruto: by no means, Obito can't be outperformed here because he sacrificed his all - his life and his treasured sharingan WHA: Olruggio sacrificed the memory of his best friend's dangerous secret (to save Qifrey's life). Technically, they both save their friends' lives twice (Obito also dies twice 😒but i hope Oruru here is not gonna do that!)

(In addition, Obito and Olruggio have sunshine personalities and they value friendship above all; both are incredibly loyal and have charming smiles🥰)

Eye trauma ✓ Naruto: Kakashi loses his eye in a fight protecting Obito, and later has Obito's eye transplanted to replace the missing one WHA: Qifrey is missing both eyes (this part of the story is still a mystery) but the parasitic tree that dwells inside his body managed to restore one eye, leaving the other socket empty.

Tree motif ✓ Naruto: after Madara uses Hashirama's cells to regenerate half of Obito's body, Obito acquires mokuton, an ability to grow tree branches, that he mainly uses as a weapon; WHA: Qifrey is a host of a parasitic tree that starts to grow the moment he feels safe and happy; to prevent it from fully growing and killing him, Qifrey must either lose his memories or constantly experience anxiety/guilt etc.

traumatized™ ✓ Naruto: Kakashi... where do i begin... (y'all know what happened) WHA: here we DON'T know what happened exactly, but the fact that Belda found Qifrey buried alive in a coffin with his eye gauged out speaks for itself.

All for of them are traumatized, actually 😔

Performative smile ✓ These two are hiding their inner freaks (and a ton of pain) behind those fake smiles.

✨Bonus parallels include: ✓white hair-black hair combo; ✓ hair turning white as a result of a magical manipulation; ✓ O for Obito and Olruggio and K for Kakashi and Q(K)ifrey; ✓ Qifrey and Kakashi are certified yearners

So, orufrey check a lot of obkk bingo boxes 😄however, we see Olruggio and Qifrey start out as best friends, grow up together to become ...a dramatic situationship good teachers and witch partners who actually share a life together, while Obito and Kakashi are never meant to reach each other (even though being by each other's side has been their dearest dream).
