Ever since my childhood days, I have already was introduced to arts by the people around me.
Way back in the year 2008, when I was about six years old, I discovered filming videos and taking photographs. In that year, technology was evolving rapidly and has changed the world since then. I started familiarizing myself with using these types of media languages. It was surprising that at an early age, I get to discover the things I like to do. Growing up as a kid, we only have few technologies in our household. Even so, It didn't stop me from finding a way to film videos and take photos. One person that influenced me is my father, I always see him editing stuff on the computer, and of course, as a kid, I tried mimicking his works and actions.
Right now, video platforms started popping out in every corner of the internet, just like one of the growing industries today, YouTube. I started sharing my creations in 2014. I never thought that this could turn out to be a career someday in the future. On these social media platforms, I meet people who share the same interest as I do. They influence me more to create content that expressed my personality and style. It helped me to enhance my passion and creativity. More so, it also pushed me to share my skills and works, so someday I am the one who can inspire others. Β

During this pandemic, education has been an issue not just for students but including teachers, parents, and mostly the underprivileged. The covid-19 virus has centered the attention on one of the biggest problems in the world that havenβt been set on at the moment in which, students who can afford education and those who canβt. Due to the present situation, the government decided to limit face-to-face interaction and mass gatherings in other areas of the country, depending on the outbreak of the virus.
According to DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, distance learning is a vital component of learning delivery for the incoming school year. Distance learning means lessons will be delivered outside the traditional face-to-face setup.
While online learning is one of the options implemented by the DepEd for distance learning, data shows that not all households have access to the internet. Citing data from the National Telecommunications Commission, DepEd said that as of December 2019, only 67% of the Philippine population has access to the internet. While on the other hand, 33% has no access to the internet.
Just like in the past years, education has been tough for some people. However, this year was different when comparing the situation we are facing at the moment it shows how much more challenging this school year has been so far. When accessing the internet is already difficult, students and teachers still need to try to access technology wherein it is just part of a much bigger problem.
Although media and information literacy may have a contribution to this part of the βnew normalβ as long as there are underprivileged students and teachers who are victims of a complicated system, an βacademic freezeβ is the most feasible option to do. It will allow them to focus on themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually, also help the country recover from the virus. No student should be left behind. Education is a right, but crisis response speaks of valuing human lives.
Here's a short video that speaks of the issue in my own perspective...

stop shaming. start believing
Have we already normalized shaming in our society?
It will never be right to shame somebody who is being happy in what he or she is doing and on how he or she looks like. Shaming is still shaming whether it is done directly or indirectly. You donβt know how big is the impact of your words to somebody. It might be the reason why they lose their confidence at all.
On the other hand,Β
To all the people who have experienced shaming, whether it is big or small, always remember that you are unique and irreplaceable. The reason why they shame you is because of their own insecurities. Never let those affect you.Β
You are loved. You are appreciated. You areΒ βyou.β

An infographic timeline that I made about the Evolution of Media!
Since the beginning of evolution, the world has made a huge impact on humanity, it creates a whole new story to tell for the future generations. Looking back from the timeline of evolution, we can see that the technologies they use were evolving through time. Based on the infographic I made, the theme was inspired by the old times wherein it symbolizes the growth of our world and how humanity came to develop new tools and technologies. I learned that every day in our world we are evolving as humans and in nature.
βThe media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.β

βEverybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.β
-Gertrude Stein
Β Β Β Β Our brains depend on information to work perfectly. The pieces of information that we receive are largely the perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes we intake. Media and Information Literacy could be information from other persons, the media, libraries, museums, publishers, social media, or other information providers. As we all know the word literacy usually describes the ability to read and write and now that I have a piece of knowledge about Media and Information Literacy I learned that MIL is not only about communication, but it also has various platforms that we can get information to. MIL uses a variety of tools that can be able to converge or engage information to the people in a convenient way. Since we all have different learning strategies, these mediums of media help us understand certain information or message in our ways using various mediums. In our world today that is continuously developing, people begin to innovate and upgrade new tools and platforms for us to gather fresh information.
