The amount of emphasis on content all around us, through all media, is staggering. What’s even more problematic for me is this engineered response to ignore form, or to experience content at the expense of form. So I think there’s an event that’s happening to us — a physiological event with imbibing any media. An aural, visual, and tonal event that we look through and we’re taught to look through — and we’re supposed to be “reading” the thing, like it’s literature. But the fact of the matter is that it isn’t; there’s an experiential thing happening.
