Loki has ALWAYS been more like Odin, and has in fact compared himself to Odin more than once, which surprisingly enough, is not mutually exclusive with his disavowing Odin as a father. “I went down to Midgard to rule them as a benevolent god–just like you.” And despite the fact that he’s certainly in part trying to be a smartass, there’s a truth to this. “And what of the lives you took on Earth?” “A mere handful compared to the number that Odin has taken himself”–as if being akin to, but slightly better than, Odin is a thing to be praised, or at the very least dismissed. And we can’t forget Thor’s “Loki, for all his grave imbalance, understood rule”.

It’s ironic that Thor, whose life was always plotted out to follow his father’s, is in fact very much like Frigga; and Loki, the second son, bears a temperament much more like Odin’s own. He is willing to use people, to sacrifice, and seeks the power that comes with the throne or similar auhority. And I sometimes wonder if Odin saw this even when Loki was younger, manifesting in more subtle ways, and was concerned by it. Even in the short time that Loki was king, he was cunning and absoutely ruthless in his manipulation of Laufey and Jotunheim; he knew exactly what he was doing, and it WORKED.

Being surprised to find you fancy him

He’s really not your usual type but there’s just something about him that’s so damn nice

Is it his hair? His shoulders? Nah man it’s gotta be how sneaky cheeky freaky deaky he is

I mean have you seen that wink he does?

Or maybe it’s just everything.

Every time you’re around him you can’t help but take a look and look away when he looks in your general direction

You try to keep it under wraps you really do

But Eggsy has this intuition thing and as soon as you realised you fancied him, he felt it straight off the bat

Eggsy would thrive on the attention you unintentionally give him - showing off, saying the wittiest things followed by “ain’t that right?” and an elbow jab to your ribs, or the occasional wink.

At first, your blush would be uncontrollable, but after a few weeks of this constant teasing, you toughen up and develop your own witty ways to deal with him

He’d pass you in the hall with a wink, “Looking good, babe.”

You’d tilt your head, “Better looking than you.”

Before you know it and without realising, the pair of you would be flirting all the time. Where it started with just Eggsy taking the piss, he soon became very involved with it and realised he fancied you, too

You wouldn’t be able to tell, though. His flirtatious behaviour wouldn’t change, but his intentions would. He no longer tried to make you blush, he’d be trying to take his frustrations out, trying to hint that he wanted a little more. But now he’d settled himself into flirting with you on a casual basis, he didn’t know what to do to make you see he was serious without flat out saying it

So he just left it and ended up stewing in his own feelings for a while

Because you both wanted to be around each other and ended up spending so much time together, you’d soon become good mates. Best mates, even. He’d flirt, you’d sass and shoot him down, and he’d think it’s hilarious but also be in a good chunk of achy pains in his heart

With being best mates comes emotional support. When goings get tough, he’d offer you a hug and just hold you. Whenever this happens, you’d sort of sink into him, relaxing completely, focusing on the fact he was here in your arms and not whatever had made you need this support.

You’d grip to the physical memory of his back beneath your hands, the fabric of his suit against your fingertips and his breath on your neck as he rested his head against yours, arms tightly around you like a buffer keeping from the outside world.

Eggsy would be doing the same, clinging to the feeling of how snugly you fit in his arms, how completely you lean against him.

Sometimes these moments would lead to a kiss. No, not a lip contact one unfortunately. The pair of you would be too deep into this friendship now to even imagine endangering it.

Before you part, he’d press a kiss to your forehead and tell you everything’s gonna be okay. “Besides, I’m here, right? What more could you possibly need?”

“A cricket bat to whack you with, potentially.” And then you’d thank him and kiss his cheek, something that you always wanted to do again, but limited yourself to one per hug.

The rest of the agents would be going absolutely crazy. It was clear your crush was mutual and they just didn’t understand how your friendship hadn’t caved into something more. Merlin and Harry would place quiet bets on whether or not you’d be together by the end of the year.

A couple of bets would pass, Harry having won them all (you still weren’t together), and the crushes wouldn’t exist anymore. No, you were madly in love with each other but dammit nothing was happening

Until Eggsy was given a mission that would surely kill him. He’d been on many dangerous missions before, but none that put him right into the bad guy’s base when there wasn’t enough manpower at Kingsman to mount a team of spies, or even a military rescue team.

You’d make a point to see Eggsy off to his plane. A teary goodbye and about five “Don’t you dare fucking die"s later, Eggsy decides it’s high time he told you he returned your crush as soon as you told him "Shove it up your arse, Eggsy.”

A deep, long awaited kiss sees Harry giving Merlin a few cash notes.

When Eggsy gets back (“I promised I wouldn’t die, din’t I?”), the pair of you would date and be openly in love, like you should have been for years.
