         Ryder was now unpacking every other gift Santa brought him during the night. Dinah watched him unconsciously with a floating smirk over her lips. He was so happy… What kind of life would he have if they didn’t keep him with them ? It felt impossible to give up on the baby the moment they told them no family was reclaiming the baby. It broke both of their hearts. In this moment, she didn’t care that much where or from who the baby would come - even if she’d be happy to have their own nonetheless - as long as the three of them stayed together now. Dinah was ready for another baby, but you couldn’t force anyone opposed to the idea.      “I know that.” 

         Dinah took a long breath, then wrapped her hands around Zatanna’s ones before bringing them to her lips.      “You know, me asking you for another baby is a lot. It’s just… I know the risks, I know them since I was born. I was actually born with danger all around home, my mom, && my dad… it’s just… I’m gonna sound selfish but I’m tired of living in the fear. The world doesn’t need me specifically, we both know that… we also know that sometimes, there’s not many up to fight either, && I won’t be one to stand up aside while letting my son grow up in a world I don’t fight for. I’m grateful for your understanding Zee…”     Another kiss on her knuckles, then her blue eyes brightened suddenly when Zatanna implied she may be in.      “I promise I won’t touch anything ! Scout’s honor !”       Excitement could be heard in her voice, as she finally pulled her into her welcoming arms. 

          “He won’t because neither of us will go.”      Dinah couldn’t be one hundred percent sure but she could promise she would do her best to stay alive, && protect them. Sometimes, she knew keeping both would be difficult. She was overwhelmed, she cupped her face && kissed her passionately.      “So, I can’t wait to make a baby for you my love.” 

She had always thought parenting was about protecting your child but the more she watched Ryder grow more she was learning it was about setting an example for who you wanted to be. And sometimes that meant you let them fall. Zee had felt like she had grown so much since their baby boy came into their lives. Being a mom had changed everything. She watched Dinah's face and smiled at the kisses. "It doesn't sound selfish. I don't want Ryder to live a life where his every thought is what if and decided not to do something because of the risks. I want him to be brave like his beautiful mama." It was hard not to get excited with Dinah radiating it. "Maybe I can even contact my dad and get his advice for raising a child there." She didn't do it often and it didn't always work but Shadowcrest was the best place to do it. And he could meet Ryder.

Zee snuggled into Dinah's embrace. "Never. He's going to be all grown up and sick of this. And with a sibling if we have to go off to save the world or something he'll have someone with him always." That was the one thing about their lives, it came with one huge family of some incredible people. Zee returned the kiss, her mind distracted for a second as she focused on the kiss and nothing else. "I'm excited too. Now which one of us gets to not fit into their outfits for a few months?" Zee would happily do it, she could take the break from touring and spend the time baby proofing Shadowcrest while she was pregnant, but she wouldn't object to Dinah either.

She pulled away from Dinah and rested her head against her loves shoulder. Ryder was enthusiastically playing with the paper and toys he had in front of him. "You know I think we could have gotten him a box and told him it was from Superman and Batman and he would haven't cared at all about anything else." Their son like most kids had their favorite heroes, the fact that he actually knew them didn't even matter. "Or whoever his favorite hero is at the moment."

          Maybe she was thinking too much after all. But she was being a little too realist since she lost her parents. People came && disappeared the second later. It was different with Zee, but she didn’t want to build something so strong && be forgotten after a few months. She knew the young magician meant the words, she trusted her on it. Though life happened && she wasn’t sure what could be true or not anymore besides that they both felt so much for each other.

          “Okay…”.      Dinah may be defined as too naive sometimes when it came to love or relationships. She trusted Zatanna && believed her feelings for her. If she said she loved her then it will work. Her speech turned her on a little, && she leaned to kiss the other, her teeth slightly pulling on her mouth.     “Let’s do this. Just… don’t go too soon.”      A grin passed over her mouth then the young Canary grinned back at her. She would literally give her life for her lover in this moment.

          “Also just ‘cause you’re gonna go means ya can’t come back, right ?”      She tried to remain hopeful. She got attached to the girl way too much it couldn’t be any other way now. Although, the cryptic events happening lately had made Dinah a little more suspicious but not angry. She had made her research && found out her mother && Zee’s father had a lot in common && eventually even worked together at the JSA. This man happened to be a real magician, not just an illusionist - or else he wouldn’t be trusted in the league. So it had been easy for Dinah to make a connection with his daughter. She had powers, some she didn’t control at times.

It was always going to be to soon. If she could stop time Zee would stop it so they could live in the now forever. Except she couldn't and in order to even learn how to do that, if it was possible, she was going to have to leave. The world was cruel, Zee realized that when she lost her mother and never got the chance to know her. Wasn't love supposed to be easy, give you the ability to defeat all obstacles that got in your way. Why couldn't she figure out a way to stay with Dinah?

"It's always going to be to soon." So beautiful and powerful. Zee had always been lucky in life and while she hadn't realized how true that was until running away, she certainly recognized it now. "I want to do everything with you. You're the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing I think about at night. Okay unless I fall off the bed." She was trying to interject some humor into her sappiness. But really she had never fallen off the bed until her magic had started to manifest itself.

"Wild horses couldn't keep me away. No more talk of me leaving. I don't want tonight to be sad and if we keep talking like this is a goodbye I'm going to start to cry." She felt like she could start any minute as it was. Tonight needed to be perfect because it seemed like they both sensed how soon this was going to be over. "Let's dance or sing or play board games." She scrunched up her nose at the idea of board games but she needed to change the subject.

“…anchor my magic and use it as your own?”  It was a good idea. IF Zee could manage it. Lydia shook her head,  “ even if you do hurt me, it might be worth it. What’s a little pain if it saves our lives? Saves your island.”

The teasing and grinding had gone on long enough, she seemed to have thought so too, now that she no longer had her fingers clenching around his girth. Zee smirked as he teased her on her pizza choice. “Not tonight. Next time you take me out for pizza I’ll try whatever you want me to.” She was sticking with something safe until she was in that dress and looking hot. At least when it came to food. As they stepped into the pizza shop she took a deep breath. “Oh this smells good. You think they would let me make a pizza? I’ve always wanted to try and twirl the dough.”
