"Happy V day!"
Delphi had jammed her foot from the front door closing, just in case. Her hand pushing through holding out the red foiled heart card out. Printed on it's dollie surface was the words, I Choice you, Valentine. Her eye's flashed with a yellow tint.
"Oh? Expecting some one else? Don't make me jealous." Using her body to push her way in.
Gellert raised an eyebrow at her disappointment at his reaction. She was a child, well a child to him at least. "I wasn't expecting someone but rather disappointed someone else isn't here to celebrate." he mused, looking at the foiled heart card. "Pretty. Did you make that with me in mind? I'm touched Miss Diggory.'
Before june ends, just want to greet a Happy pride to this pookie of mine, little war criminal who just wanted to woo his husband before they finalized the divorce paper or plunge the wixen community into the global wizarding war.
Ft. Albus version before I delete this in my canva:
Albus-Feeling silly, might go find a regular haunt where my blood supremacist ex might be.-Dumbledore, 1930s.
You two need a marriage counsellor or therapy. Or both.
Gellert watched Albusâ expression shift. Subtle, but unmistakable to him. There was resolve there now, blooming slow but sure behind those impossibly blue eyes. It was what heâd hoped for, what heâd pushed for, but still, seeing it take root in real time sent a quiet thrill through him. Albus wasnât just agreeingâhe was choosing this. Choosing them.
The words, âI do feel it,â struck something deep, and Gellerts breath hitched, just faintly. He hadnât realised how badly heâd needed to hear it until now. That Albus felt the pull too. The future tugging at their spines, beckoning beyond the edge of the familiar. He felt the corners of his mouth curve, slow and honest, something rare. There was no triumph in it. Just⌠rightness.
When Albus leaned into his touch, Gellert didnât pull away. His fingers lingered, brushing across cheekbone and jaw with reverence more than want. âTogether,â Albus had whispered, and Gellert closed his eyes for a moment, letting the word settle into him. It tasted like a promise. Like something real.
He opened them only when Albus spoke again, firmer this time. âI will speak with my brother, but regardless of his response, we will leave Godricâs Hollow.â And thatâthatâwas the beginning.
Gellerts hand slid down to cradle Albusâ, threading their fingers together. âThen it is done,â he said softly. âWhatever comes, we move forward. You, me, Ariana.â He knew that it would take some time. Months likely before they would be ready to leave. He had preparations to make, to ensure Nurmengard was ready for Ariana and Albus. But they would leave as soon as the time was right.
The sunlight shifted through the trees, casting patterns on the grass, and for the first time in a long while, the future didnât feel like a dream they were chasing. It felt like something within reach.
He released Albusâ hand only to press it flat against his chest, just over his heart. âThis place, this village⌠it will become just a memory. A stepping stone. Weâll look back on it not with regret, but with purpose. Because this is where it began. Not in the halls of power, not in the chaos of revoltâbut here. In the grass, in the sun, with you.â
every minute that he spent with gellert felt like a dream come true ââ like everything was in reach; like nothing was impossible. "i don't want the memory of this place to be a haunting one," he admitted. regardless of the reasons they had come to godric's hollow, it did hold some good. it was where he had met gellert after all.
it was albus' turn to reach out towards the other man, fingers brushing lovingly along gellert's jaw until he was cupping the man's cheek. there was something about the warmth of the sun, and the scent of the meadow that made the moment seem too perfect. a moment that he would treasure forever.
"the way you speak about our revolution, about our future ââ about us. it is everything i have been waiting to hear." but albus had an inkling that gellert already knew that. it didn't really occur to him to worry about that though. why would he worry, if their ideology about the future were aligned. "we will make a better world to live in ââ for all of wizard kind."
Gellert stilled under Albusâ touch, the warmth of that hand against his cheek striking him with a force far greater than he expected. There were moments when the world seemed to narrow to a single point, and right now that point was Albus. Sunlight caught in his hair, conviction blooming in his voice, fingers gentle in a way Gellert wasnât sure he had ever truly known. For a heartbeat, it felt like the world softened just enough for him to breathe.
Albusâ wordsâour revolution, our future, usâsettled through him like a spell cast without wand or incantation, binding him in ways he didnât resist. Theirs.
He leaned into the touch, let himself be held for a moment. âIt wonât be a haunting memory,â he said quietly, his voice dropping into something steadier, more intimate. âNot if we shape what comes next. Not if we take what we found here, and build something worthy.â His hand rose to cover Albusâ, pressing it more firmly against his skin, as if anchoring the promise between them.
âYou were waiting to hear it,â he continued, tilting his head just enough that his lips nearly brushed Albusâ palm as he spoke, âand I was waiting for someone who could understand it. Truly understand itânot fear it, not shrink from it, not twist it into something small.â He drew back slightly to meet Albusâ gaze, something bright and fierce glinting in his own. âYou see the world as it could be, not as it is. That is rarer than any talent. Rarer, even, than power.â
The wind shifted the grass around them, the meadow whispering with the same expectancy that thrummed in his chest.
âWe wonât simply make a better world,â Gellert said, his thumb sweeping once along the inside of Albusâ wrist. âWe will remake it. Free wizardingkind from fear, from constraint, from the chaos of lesser wills pulling at the seams of progress.â His voice softened then, the steel in it warming into something far more human. âYou and Iâtogetherâwe can shape an age. And Ariana⌠she will grow up in a world where no one will ever harm her again.â He let his fingers slip down to entwine with Albusâ, binding their hands together in the grass.
âThisââ he murmured, ââthis is only the beginning. The world doesnât know it yet, but its future is being decided here. In this field. In your choice. In us.â

A slender and painted finger runs across the imposing metal bars. Creating a click clack against the metal. Only to pause halfway across Grindelwalds cell to grip said bars. Leaning in to peer inside the dimly lit room and the man held within.
"I'm suprised you have survived so long," Delphi says, "More surprised Dumbledore hasn't come to finish you off personally. Or, at least, pay someone to do such a thing."
Her painted lips pull back into a smile, "Well that would be something I would do. But thankfully here you are."
Gellert startled at the voice that had greeted him in the darkness. He was certain he was hearing things. A vision or perhaps simply something else to break up the torturous monotonous silence. But then he looked up and realised the voice was real and there was a stranger standing on the other side of the bars. "If you think Albus would do such a thing." His voice croaked, strained from disuse. "Then it's clear you don't know Albus at all." He stood from his cot and moved across his cell. So Albus hadn't sent this strange girl so why was she here? How had she managed to get past Albus' wards? Well he supposed they were designed to keep him in, not people out. "Thankfully I'm here? I've been here for many many years, long before you were born I dare say. What are you doing here? If you've come for advice on how to take over the world, I'm afraid I'm fresh out of new ideas."
"Oh I'm sure I don't know Dumbledore the way you do-did!" Delphi winks,
Holding onto his prison bars she leans back. Shifting her weight to and fro, almost playful.
"Why? I am here to see you of course. And, no, I'm not interested in taking over the world. Well, not personally, per say."
She has all the time in the world. No one is coming. After all the time Delphi has spent stalking the castle, she knows enough. Enough that the wizarding world has moved on from this Dark Wizard. To forget the danger he posesed.
Gellert watched, surprised at the wink she gave him. What did that mean? Did she know about the true depth of his relationship with Albus? He couldn't imagine why that would even matter to this girl, unless she was planning on blackmailing Albus with this knowledge. He wasn't going to participate in whatever games she had in mind. The time for that had come and gone. "Not personally interested in taking over the world? So you're here for someone else? Or perhaps you've just come to visit with me? Well I don't get many visitors Miss...." He had nothing to lose after all. He would be trapped in this cell until he died and the only visitor he ever had was Albus himself, on the very rare occasion he visited at all anymore.

the youngest dumbledore sat in her usual spot in the garden behind their home in godric's hollow, book in hand and open to the current chapter she was reading. albus had given her on of his first year textbooks to study. she wasn't able to attend hogwarts like her siblings had, she understood that. she liked to believe that she might have been sorted into hufflepuff, or even ravenclaw.
she'd been learning about herbology, adoring the plants in the garden and wishing to learn more. it had been her to keep the garden blooming and beautiful, learning more from the text than she'd ever thought she would.
there were only three people that knew of her favourite place, and two of them were still in bed, sleeping away the morning. she could hear the sound of footsteps in the lushious grass, and immediately knew who they belonged to. aberforth lumbered when he walked, and albus ââ as graceful as he was ââ still made more noise than he liked to admit.
"hello, grindie."
Gellert stepped through the garden with the easy, practised grace of someone who had come to know its paths intimately. The grass was damp beneath his boots, glistening faintly in the morning light, and the air carried the scent of blooming rose and lavenderâfragrance Ariana had coaxed from the earth with quiet, careful patience. Balanced in his hands was a tray, brought from Bathildas kitchen. Sheâd tried to chatter his ears off and keep him for tea, but heâd made a swift escape with warm bread, a small pot of blackberry jam, and two cups of freshly steeped tea. Heâd added a sprig of mint, freshly picked from the edge of her garden, mostly on impulse. The kind of detail Ariana always seemed to notice, even if she never said much about it. She was exactly where he expected her to be, tucked beneath the ivy-covered wall with a book opened in her lap, the spine worn soft from use.
âHello, Grindie.â
A smile ghosted across his face at the sound of the name. He said nothing about itâhe never did. It was the one indulgence he allowed her, the only person who could shorten his name without fear of retaliation. Anyone else would have been hexed before they got the second syllable out. But Ariana said it with such natural ease, like it had always belonged to her. He knelt down beside the low wall and set the tray gently beside her, not too close to startle her. The porcelain clinking softly against the stone.
âGood morning Miss Ariana. Bathilda tried to keep me hostage with conversation and toast. I told her I had a prior engagement,â he said lightly, glancing over at her hands, still resting on the open book. It was one she had been reading this week. âOne Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi,â he cast a glance at the familiar cover. It wasnât one he wouldâve chosen for himself, not out of interestâbut Arianas quiet dedication to Herbology had drawn his attention more than once. âWhat are you working on this morning? Are you still favouring the ones that smell sweet and bloom in moonlight? Knotgrass or honking daffodils perhaps?â
He poured her tea, the movement easy now, practised. Over the past week or so, he had made it a point to arrive earlyâbefore the house fully woke, before Albusâ mind was brimming with plans, before Aberforth had a chance to snarl and growl at him from the doorway. He told himself it was partly to be usefulâto help with the things Albus never had time forâbut it was also for this. To keep Ariana company, to be part of the quiet rhythm of her mornings.
He handed her the cup and leaned back slightly, stretching his legs in the grass. âI take it your brothers are still asleep,â he said, a teasing edge to his voice. âUnless theyâve suddenly learned to argue silently. The house is far too peaceful.â

Gellert watched Albus closely, attuned to every flicker of doubt that passed across his face. The way Albus lingered on the teacake, the tension in his jaw when Aberforths name arose. It all told Gellert what he needed to know. Albus was thinking, weighing the impossible choices before him. And beneath it all, he was listening. That was enough.
âI know Aberforth will be difficult,â Gellert said, voice low. âBut heâll be gone soonâback to Hogwarts once the summer ends. And it wonât be him left behind. It will be you, trapped here in this house, this village, while everything you could become slips further out of reach.â His thumb traced lazy patterns over the back of Albusâ hand. âI wonât let that happen. Not when we are so close.â
He shifted slightly, the sun warm against his back, expression turning brighter with a spark of quiet certainty. âI have somewhere we can go. Somewhere safe. Somewhere Ariana wonât be locked away. Sheâll be free there. You both will.â His gaze met Albusâ with unflinching sincerity. âI know it wonât be easy to leave Godrics Hollowâbut our future isnât here. You feel that, donât you? That pull toward something greater?â
For a moment, Gellert looked down, gathering his thoughts with care. âAriana⌠sheâs changed something in me. She slows me, in a way nothing else does. She sees what others miss. I find I care for her more deeply than I expected.â He smiled, faint and rueful. âShe matters to me now. Not just because she matters to you.â
He reached up and brushed a strand of hair from Albusâ face, fingers soft against skin. âWe wonât leave her behind. Not ever. She will come with us, and she will be safe. Loved. Weâll make a world where she can live without fear. And that world begins with us.â His grip tightened slightly. âLetâs not let fear chain us here. Let us find a way. All of us. Together.â
gellert's words hit albus in various ways. they all made sense, every single word. especially when he spoke about aberforth. in reality, aberforth was the only thing keeping him tethered to godric's hollow; ariana was no issue. he would speak to his brother first, but albus doubted it would make much of a difference in the end. that would be when he would have to make the defining decision. stay and wither in obscurity with his family, or leave with gellert (and bring his sister along) and grow into his power and greatness.
albus nodded, eyes glued to the man in front of him. "i do feel it." he had been feeling the pull for some time. he had always known, deep down, that he was destined for greatness ââ he just wasn't sure what that greatness was, until now.
he followed after the soft touch of gellert's fingers, wanting more of the connection. gellert was the first to show albus the affection he so desired. another nod. "together," he muttered in response, eyes falling shut. albus would follow gellert to the ends of the world. "i will speak with my brother, but regardless of his response, we will leave godric's hollow."
albus. gellert. ariana. together.

Gellert sat back in the grass, the warmth of the sun sinking into his shoulders, the air sweet with the scent of crushed clover and the faint tang of the creek nearby. The gentle rush of water filled the silence between them, but it was not uncomfortable. Albus sat close, his presence a comfort that Gellert had not yet grown used to. In all his restless hunger for greatness, there was still a part of him that slowed when Albus was near. Slowed, and thought more carefully.
He picked at the edge of a teacake, crumbling it slowly between his fingers. Bathilda had sent them out with a tin full, still warm and dusted in sugar, but the sweetness sat untouched on his tongue. He glanced at Albus, at the soft blue eyes filled with a love he had never dared to hope for. It was easier, sometimes, to speak of power and possibility than of the quiet thingsâlike fear. Or tenderness.
âI have been thinking of Ariana,â he said at last, voice low but steady. âYou know how deeply I care for her. She looks at me with that stillnessâso rare in her world. I think she sees more than she lets on. And when I watch her with you⌠I understand. How much she depends on you. How much you love her. And yetâŚâ He trailed off, turning his face slightly toward the sky, where a bird flitted from branch to branch above them. âIt is not possible to begin what we must if you remain here. Godrics Hollow is not a cradle for revolution.â
His gaze returned to Albus, more vulnerable than he meant it to be. âBut I would never want us to leave her behind. I wonder if we could bring her with us. Somewhere quiet, safe. She would not hinder us, not truly. She is not a burden, Albus. She is part of you. And if we are to build a new world, should it not be for people like her as well? Those who have been left behind too often?â He reached over and pressed a teacake gently into Albusâ hand, fingers brushing deliberately. âWe do not have to choose between her and the future. Not if we are clever. Not if we are brave.â Gellert already had a plan in mind but he wanted to see Albus' reaction first.
ariana, his sweet, sweet sister. he would be lying if he said he hadn't thought of the very same thing. he thought often about taking his sister with them ââ keep her safe. gellert made very excellent points, but albus knew that his brother, aberforth, wouldn't let him leave with their sister. not without an arguement. but gellert was right ââ godrics hollow was not able to withstand the chaos of revolution. as much as that hurt ââ this was his home; this was where his sister was ââ grindelwald's honeyed words softened the pain of leaving. not that albus had much love for his home anymore. but ariana. all of his love was for her ââ and gellert.
"aberforth will take some convincing," he answered, knowing that ariana would leave with him in a heartbeat. fingers picked absently at the teacake gellert had placed in his hand, the brush of the other's fingers sending sparks up his arm. albus was torn. a revolution was no place for one as innocent as his sister, but albus was confident that without her... he didn't want to think too hard about what might happen if she wasn't by his side through this endeavor.
the young wizard weighed the options before him; attain great power with the love of his life, or the love of his sister. both were extremely tempting. gellert was confident that he wouldn't have to choose between either ââ albus wasn't quite as confident. "i will have to be half as convincing as you, dear one." aberforth was not the listening type. not when it came to albus.
That was enough.

soft, blue eyes stared at the man before him, love and adoration clear in them. he had been in love with gellert grindelwald since they had met, the other's words casting their own kind of spell on him. "you look troubled, gellert. what is on your mind?"

unfortunately i think middle-aged gellert constantly flipflops between the moods "I love you albus i miss you come back to me i dont want to do this without you :(" and "you are a cheap traitorous whore and i hope you die and did i mention you are a skank and a slut and you betrayed me"
"This is entirely accurate and sometimes these feelings occur at the same time. Albus is a cheap traitorous whore but I also love and miss him and wish he would come back to me."
