maggie-fields:
Maggie blushes, not saying anything for a moment. She didn’t do dates and the idea freaked her out…but this was Alister and she cared about him deeply. So maybe it was time to accept the inevitable. “Oh yeah totally,” she says, hiding how serious she meant it. They make it to the picnic area, the food and lights done as she said. “Get cozy.”
Alister was never the type to date and when he had, it was never for long. Not because he didn’t like the girl or that he didn’t want that–he just never felt like there would be more than one and often times there wasn’t a need for a second. But Maggie was different, he always came back to her and it felt natural, right even. So when she agreed, he lifted her hand up to kiss and followed her the rest of the way. Maybe with everything that had happened he was too afraid to have this, but maybe it was time. “Incredible.” He breathed taking in the lights and the picnic she’d left out for them. “You did this? All on your own?” He asked her as he moved to take a seat upon the blanket. “You amaze me, Mags, you truly do.”
“Of course! I don’t half-ass things.” She sits next to him, unsure of how close it was okay to be. “You really like it?” She didn’t know why she went all-out for this boy but for some reason doing something good for him was the only thing on her mind today. And she amazes him? It was Al that amazed her. Every single time they spoke to one another. “There are sandwiches and wine and all that good stuff. Chips a guac too.”
