and I mean, that pretty much is Roseâs entire hangup when it comes to âseeing the most fortuitous outcomeâ and why she breaks down in a laughing drunken stupor over it in an almost giving up way
she sees a series of events, that on the broad surface level, are very much Not Fortunate, and this is from her vision power of the âMost Fortunate Outcomeâ
so she keeps trying to see something better, some way out, and canât figure it out, the events she sees has to play out and happen, it really IS the most fortunate outcome, but she canât reconcile her visions with her desired outcome. She canât see a way out where her vision is still the truth and everyone gets a happy ending that she wants
A Mage of Light would totally be able to Steins;Gate that shit with no effort
(spoilers for the uh, entirety of steins;gate final episode I guess so skip that if you dont wanât an explanation)
but basically in steins;gate time travel is a thing and timelines are set in stone (but events are frequently changed so that millions of âtimelinesâ exist), events that Must happen like a characters death Must play out somehow (how they die doesnât matter, just that they do) or else the future is irreparably damaged into an awful distopia, only this characters death forestalls that
so how does main character get around that and save this characters life without damaging their future?
they travel back in time to the exact moment or a little before to their death and set up the events so that every detail of the good non dystopia future is technically preserved, from those who âwitnessâ their death still witnessing their âdeathâ, to blood smears in the right places, to the reaction to their âdeathâ still hapenning, to the fact that they are nowhere to be found afterwards all being things that butterfly into effect and still happen
all by cleverly faking their death and stealing them away
the âmovie of eventsâ, the things that you would See as a Seer, are preserved, but the reality of it has in fact been Changed, without reality changing, the loophole has been taken, and thats the advantage of a Mage
