for years, it was the three of you. Oikawa, Iwaizumi, and yourself—you guys become friends after being in the same class in grade school, then realized you were all neighbors

from the start, it was clear that iwa was the odd one out. there was you and oikawa, the loud and extroverted social butterflies, then iwa, whom was the exact opposite. despite that, you all fit seamlessly as a trio

this swarm of fan girls only got worse when you three started at Aoba Johsai. and, in all honesty, it was deterring for you. against your better judgement, you had fallen in love with oikawa over the years

you kinda drifted from him, yet stayed tight with iwa. but oikawa wasn’t the only one to have fans—a month into high school, you had a swarm of boys all over you, from all three years

between the two tweels, jade is the more calm one, so it won’t be as much of a rollercoaster as Floyd

jade is quieter about his adoration for you. you know his groovy card of his lab coat? where he’s staring at the mushrooms? he looks at you like that on the daily

he enjoys taking you on hikes with him through the surrounding mountains, then will make you a dish with whatever edible mushrooms you two found

leona doesn’t really change when you two start dating. he’s still the lazy, sarcastic asshole that everyone else knows him as

while he doesn’t have an major changes, you notice the small things—his words don’t bite nearly as hard as they used to, he actually tries to make an effort for you

similar to riddle, he prefers the quiet moments he gets with you. 90% of the time you spend together is in his bed napping

you genuinely do not understand how a person can sleep this much.

once leona grows more comfortable, he’ll start grooming you like a cat does to their loved ones. he does it unconsciously most of the time, but sometimes does it to see you laugh because of how rough his tongue is—it slightly tickles you.

but it doesn’t last long, as when cheka visits and finds that he has a lover, you instantly become auntie/unca. it bothers leona every single time, but you love cheka to death

anytime you’re watching him play Spelldrive, whether it’s practice or a game, he puts in more effort than usual. he’s gotta show off

surprisingly enough, no contract was made between the two of you (the tweels were shocked)

azul keeps his intellectual front up around you, without letting any cracks appear in the foundation

but it’s so that you don’t see how terrified and insecure he is underneath.

he starts eating less and tries to work out more—you notice this, and immediately talk to him about it

he opens up, thought reluctantly, about his childhood. and to his surprise, you don’t judge him or anything of the sort

you assure him that he’s perfect the way he is. that he’ll always be perfect, no matter what he looks like or what his social status is. he breaks down and cries in your arms, but you know that he’ll stop hurting himself

kalim is already a walking ball of energy and positivity. but when you two start dating, somehow it gets worse. as in, jamil is close to strangling him half the time (not actually but yk)

kalim always makes sure that you’re satisfied. say you’re hungry? he has a whole feast for you in five minutes. bored? why not have a party!

he’s so over the top, but he means well. his heart is as big as his gestures, which both grow larger for you

he brings you around his family, flaunting you like you’re the most priceless treasure in the world (to him you are)

he’s not overly protective because he knows everyone is scared of him, so they wouldn’t mess with you

he always lets his guard down with you. he knows you don’t feel scared of anything of the sort around him, but the fact he’s comfortable enough around you speaks volumes

his actions speak louder than his words, which says a lot because the most basic thing he calls you is perfect

secretly wishes that he could give you something so you’d live as long as him—if that means turning you into a fae, then so be it

for as long as he could remember, Seishiro Nagi was the epitome of no motivation. he had grown used to being alone, the only entertainment being his video games- not actual human interaction. but he was okay with that. he didn’t see a problem in his life style, so why should anyone else?

the only time that nagi ever had a shift in mentality was one a certain purple haired rich man bumped into him, causing nagi to almost drop his phone- but with some sort of energy burst, he managed to catch the device with his foot before it hit the floor.

after that, nagi was practically dragged everywhere with Reo. the duo spent countless hours together, whether it was lounging or practicing on the pitch, and became inseparable. this was nagis new normal. he found someone who doesn’t seem his as a drag, who he doesn’t see as a hassle. and, despite one of the first things nagi ever said to reo was a request for money, nagi wasn’t actually jealous of reo or his life.

he was content with how his life was going.

that was until reo started bringing around this girl—you. a stunner to the eyes, whom also came from a rich family. that could explain how you knew each other.

after a couple weeks of catching glimpses of you, nagi decided to ask reo who you were.

“oh, you don’t know? that’s my girlfriend, we’ve been together for a bit.” reo says casually, yet there seems to be a strange tension in his demeanor. at hearing that, nagi felt his chest become hollow.

and for the first time in his life, nagi was jealous of reo.

reo started bringing you around nagi more. after all, he felt like his girlfriend should be in the same social circle—or rather social couple—that he was in. what was the harm?

but little did reo know, nagi was completely head over heels for you. and for some reason, the fact that you were off limits made you seem more appealing to nagi. was it because for once in his life, he had to work for something he wanted? he knew it was terrible, but he couldn’t help it. the way you smiled when greeting him, the soft sound of your laugh, the easy going yet elegant way you carried yourself— all of it was the flame that nagi was drawn to. and he didn’t care if he burned in his pursuit.

for weeks on end, he watched you and reo. yet, something seemed off. the affection seemed fake—forced, practiced. curiosity built, and so did suspicion. one day, after almost three months of witnessing his best friend shower affection onto the literal girl of his dreams, nagi snapped. who wouldn’t?

because besides reo, you’re the only person who didn’t view nagi as a bore, or someone to stay away from. when you were around, he actually felt seen, without any sort of judgement. instead of making snide comments about his interests, you asked questions to better understand why he liked them. you even offered your own recommendations, just so he wouldn’t get bored.

even if the gesture was small, it made nagi feel like he was actually worth something to someone.

“reo.”

nagi was standing over his friend, who was sitting in the courtyard of their school. reo looks up, smiling at nagi.

“hey man, what’s up? wanna practice, or get food-“

“you don’t actually like her, do you? you’re faking it. i can tell.” nagi says, interrupting whatever suggestions reo was going to continue making. the color drained from reos face, his jaw slightly dropping.

“nagi, what are you talking about?” he sputters, forcing a laugh that sounded too nervous for his own good.

“cut the crap, reo. you’re making this more of a hassle than it needs to be.” nagi states reo down, waiting for some kind of acknowledgement or response. when none came, he spoke again. “you’re not fooling me with the fake affection bullshit. it’s so obvious you guys practice that.”

reo sighs, rubbing his hands down his face. “fine, you got me. we’re fake dating… my parents kinda forced me into it. she’s great and all, but i’m just not into her like that.” reo explains, and nagi feels like he could be on cloud nine at that moment.

the girl of his dreams was technically single.

“so.. you don’t care if i get with her?” nagi asks tentatively, hoping for the best yet preparing for the worst. reos eyes widen, then he breaks into a genuine laugh.

“i don’t care, go for it! i’ve seen how you look at her.”

that was all nagi needed. he turned around without another word, and began sprinting to where you always were after school.

all of a sudden, you have nagi calling your name. you turn around, watching as he slows down his sprint into a leisurely jog once he sees you. he’s panting, but has a strange aura of motivation surrounding him.

once he reaches you, he cups your face in his big hands. before you can say anything, or even react, his mouth is on yours.

he kisses you like you’re the air he needs to breathe. like you’re the only thing that could ever matter in this world.

after a moment, he pulls away. “reo told me everything. i know im not him, but give me a chance.” he says softly against your lips, still breathing heavily from his sprint across campus.

a laugh escapes you, and nagi swears its the most beautiful sound that could ever grace his ears. you wrap your arms around his neck, smiling from ear to ear. “i was wondering when you’d say something. if you mean it, then im more than happy to give you a chance.” you respond in that sweet voice he could listen to for hours.

and, in that moment, nagi swears he’d do anything for you- he’d even give up his video games if it meant you’d keep looking at him like this.

the newest “student” at night raven college, whom almost always had a fire breathing cat-creature on their shoulder, and couldn’t seem to escape the chaos that is the two Heartslabyul first years.

although magicless, from a different world, and not even in an actual NRC dorm, you seem to fit in perfectly alongside everyone else. not only that, you’re a kind soul who likes giving to others- after all, the community service you did in your world was for a reason.

you’ve been at night raven for only a few days. you had some free time after classes were over, so you wandered around campus. during your aimless wandering, you find yourself outside of the school store, Mr. S’ Mystery Shop. the building looked as inviting as the name- dark and definitely mysterious. you’d heard stuff about the store and this “Mr S” character, but this would be the first time encountering both. with a deep breath, you push open the door to enter the store.

“welcome in, my little imp!” a bright, cheery voice greets from inside the store. in no time, a tall, darker skinned man with intricate facial markings, an interesting outfit with bone accents, and a top hat, is standing right in front of you. you jump, slightly startled.

“didn’t mean to spook you, little imp. I am Sam, the owner of this quaint little store.” Sam introduces with a flourish, making a grand gesture with his arms. “look around! i’m sure you’ll find something you like.” he says, then moves to let you walk around the store.

the building, though looking small, seemed to stretch on forever. rows of shelves lined with mysterious, cryptic, and strange items made up the bulk of the shop. as you walk around, you can hear sam greet someone that just came in. you peek around to look, and see a guy around your age with sandy blond hair and animal ears engaging with sam. you recognize him as Ruggie Bucchi, a second year in Savanaclaw, who serves as the housewarden Leona’s right hand man.

shrugging, you continue looking around, finally picking up a couple odds and ends that seemed interesting and weren’t pricey. when you went to pay, Ruggie was getting his items scanned by Sam. he was purchasing a couple cheap snacks, and when the price came up, he sighed heavily.

“Sam, let me pay you back some other time… i don’t have any money on me right now,” Ruggie frowns, mustering up his best puppy dog eyes.

Sam lifts an eyebrow, “Ruggie, you said that last week. you have to pay.. my friends on the other side won’t like it if you don’t.”

that warning sends a shiver down your spine. you step over to Ruggie and Sam, wallet in hand. “i can cover it, Sam.” you say, smiling up at Ruggie.

It was a small smile. a simple gesture. but that upward curve of your soft lips made Ruggies heart stop. his blue eyes went wide, his cheeks becoming dusted over with a blush. he wondered how soft your lips actually were, how they’d feel against his own….. hold on, what!? what was he thinking? he shook his head to drown the thoughts while you set down more than enough thaumarks to cover both of your guys’ purchases. Items in hand, you leave, gently patting Ruggies shoulder.

“U-uh, i’ll see you later, Sam!” ruggie exclaims hurriedly, grabbing his snacks and running out after you. “hey, wait!” you turn around at the sound of his voice, tilting your head in question.

Ruggie catches up to you, a boyish yet shy grin on his face. “hey, thanks for paying back there. you didn’t have to.”

you laugh a little bit, the sound joyous and warm. it melts ruggies heart. “it’s no problem. i enjoy helping those around me.” you say, reassuring him. he nods, the motion quick and choppy.

“yeah. yeah, that makes sense. i do too.” he stumbles over his words, too focused on you. what was wrong with him? he’s supposed to be this mischievous hyena, a powerful lions right hand man. yet in this moment, standing awkwardly in front of you, he’s a melting mess of emotions. utterly ruined.

and, without your knowledge, utterly yours.

with a small wave, you walk back to the main building of the campus, going to meet with Ace and Deuce. the encounter with Ruggie weighed on your mind, but was a weight you were comfortable with and openly accepting of.

ruggie stood there like a statue, watching as you left. the way you carry yourself and the sway of your body had him completely entranced. it took a bird almost landing on his head for him to finally move.

later, he’s laying in his room, finally free from leona’s endless demands. being free from leona means one thing- he gets to think about you again. he mentally hits himself for not at least getting your Magicam ID. but then again, because he didn’t get anything to communicate with you, he gains a solid enough reason to talk to you again.

as he drifts off to sleep that night, he can’t get this new student out of his head, whom has almost completely rewritten his psyche just with their gentle beauty and giving personality.

he couldn’t wait to see you again.
