Syn: A string of unfortunate events leads to an awkward encounter with a charming stranger, changing the your catastrophic day.
âWow, okay,â you thought. âThe universe hates me.â
In an hour, youâve managed to step into mud and ruin your new sneakers. Thatâs going to take a lot of cleaning⌠After that, a strong wind blew the documents out of your hands, scattering them everywhere. Thankfully, there weren't many people around, so it saved you some embarrassment as you chased after the flying papers, which some landed in the pond, and some straight on the dirt ground.
But that's not all. You even thought someoneâwhom you didn't even recognise, was waving at you. In confusion, you waved back as you tried to recall who the mysterious person was, only for them to walk past to someone behind youânot without shooting you a weird look. Out of embarrassment, you wanted to dig a hole and bury yourself inside forever.
Eventually, you thought your streak of bad luck was over when you bought yourself a cup of your favourite drink. Distracted with the treasure in your hands as you walked, you bumped into a relatively tall man, the contents of your cup then all over his crisp white shirt, some on your own as well.
âThis is it. Iâm so going to kill myself,â you mumbled to yourself.
From the impact of the collision, you stumbled backward and hit your back on the pole behind, earning a hiss of pain from you. The now empty cup fell out of your hand and rolled towards the manâs black leather shoes. Hurriedly, you regained your posture and dipped into a 90-degree bow repeatedly, a string of apologies spilling out of your mouth as you ignored the lingering pain on your spine.
âHey, take it easy,â he said, his tone mixed with concern. âDon't worry, I wasn't looking either. Is your back alright? Seems like you took a harsh hitâŚâÂ
Surprised by his calm and concerned tone instead of a furious one, you looked up, only then realising how good-looking this man was. âM-my backâs fine.â you cringed at your stuttering. âI am so, so sorry about your shirt⌠May I pay for your dry cleaning? It was entirely my fault, I- I wasn't looking at all and now your shirt is wet and stainedâŚâ You grimaced at the big splotch on his shirt.
The man shook his head, an amused smile played on his lips. âAs i said, donât worry about it, or the dry cleaning. This shirt is old anyway." He picked up the empty cup near his shoes and tossed it into a nearby trash can. You watched his movement, your gaze slowly going up to his face. Despite his messy, bed-hair-styled hair, it looked somewhat flattering on him. The silver wristwatch shone, reflecting the sunlight rays as he tucked his hand into his pocket.
He looked up and down your appearance, clearly intrigued by the mud on your left sneaker, and how the documents that were stuffed crumpled in your bag would be soaked or had dirt on them. âBad day, I assume?â he asked.
You nodded with a sigh. âYeah, and this doesn't really make it better.â
A small moment of silence passed, but you don't miss how he went over your appearance. He thought how your pouty expression as you mulled over your bad luck was sorta cute, not to mention how respectful you were when you began apologising at a rapid speed, obviously feeling guilty that you had ruined his shirt. But his shirt was the least of his concerns then.Â
âI think I know how you can repay me,â the man said as he took out a piece of paper and pen.
Your brows furrowed, curious as to what he began scribbling on the paper before handing it to you. âI hope youâre free this Friday. Thereâs a good restaurant in Shinjuku. Wouldnât be fun to eat alone, though.â
Written in the paper was âTetsuro Kurooâ, along with a phone number, presumably his. You looked up at him with a look of disbelief. âYeah, Iâm free,â you said, containing your excitement. Did you just manage to score a date with a really handsome guy just by spilling your drink over him?Â
With a short chuckle, the man you now know as Kuroo, nodded. âGreat. Iâll pick you up, then. Text me anytime.âÂ
Note: lets ignore the fact that Kuroo didn't asked for ur name⌠he found out what it was when you texted him later that day :p
