Mad Fruit

I had fun making this special request for a baby shower.

I got a request to make my unicorn pattern with a few changes to resemble their favorite pony character. I like how it turned out :)

After 4 months, I’ve finally finished this bear of a crochet project :) The people who requested it asked for things like openings in the arms so they can use their hands, that it would be large enough to fit 2 adults and it has 2 zippers that close completely so it can be used as a sleeping bag.

Our rainbow rockstar unicorn got a new blue & black friend today.

When you conquer something new that is hard for you, it's a great feeling. Last week, I conquered 2!! things that I have struggled with for a long time - the waistcoat stitch which is supposed to look more like knitting than crochet, and this cable hat pattern. I think it was possible because they were being made for a special reason, and now they are off to their new home 😎💚

I made some more messy bun - ponytail beanies to pass the time while I figure out some other patterns. This yarn was fun to play with :)

I finally convinced myself to sit still long enough to work on some crochet WIPs (works in progress) for the first time since Harvey visited us. It felt good to finish something. I did the T-rex/Dragon? with pink & purple this time, for my niece. Then my oldest needed a book bag for when they go back to school so I let her pick out some colors from my left over yarns and we ended up with a simple little Fall colored bag :)

I added slits to the sides to make it sit on the shoulders a little easier.

So this was a really interesting challenge! This is a woven tapestry that has started to come apart badly on the ends. I was asked if I could fix it with crochet, so of course I had to give it a try and I think it worked haha, I win ;) Fingers crossed that it will hold together for the long term.
