     ‘ i miss you ’.   after almost two years of doubting any one other than maybe emily would,   her heart felt lighter for hearing the words.    closing her eyes,    the blonde held her almost sister a little tighter,    so close to trusting her.   so close to telling her everything. 

                   “ i miss you too ” 

   but she couldn’t,   not yet.    “  i want to.   spence,   i wanna come home but you have to help me. ”      she whispered,     almost pleading.    she needed them to work faster,     for the girls to help her figure out who was after them.    after her. 

     coming back for good before they knew would be like signing her own death warrant,     maybe theirs too.  honestly,     she wasn’t even sure what she was asking yet,    what spencer could do.    but she couldn’t keep doing this alone,     it was driving her insane and try as she might,    she wasn’t getting much further without them. 

                  eyes squeezed closed as alison spoke; like spencer always said - hope breeds eternal misery. she’d once allowed herself to hope that alison would return to rosewood, to them and the others. in this second she was reminded why she just didn’t hope. because when it was crushed it hurt more than having no hopes. 

“ alison it feels like everything is falling apart without you, “ she whispered. 

there was too many ends she couldn’t find the ends of, couldn’t tie them all up into a bow to connect everything in this complex puzzle. spencer was so, so tired. she couldn’t figure this out, anymore. she just wanted to be provided the answers.
