Each and every person experiences similar life events, but no one is exactly alike. That is until we consider one event in which we must all partake: death. Mortality is something everyone must experience, the only variant is time.

The image is printed as plate of mirror to give a depth in the print and even more in the reflection. The reflected image sits immovably under the printed image, binding the two irreversibly. The viewer can not view the work without in turn seeing themselves, or their environment. This binding materialises the inevitably and inescapability of death. 

The ways in which we react and involve ourselves in any given environment are vast and complex, or at least they seem. In the material world, we believe certain things to make us comfortable and help us through the day.

The only sense of reality we have in this vast and dense environmental shift is the lingering desire for the idealistic natural world. This is, our own personal perception of beauty in the wilderness, keeps us believing that all we have to done to escape the natural world is not yet 'too far'. It shows itself in the mundane - photographs hanging on a wall no one looks at any more, calendars on desks people scribble all over, advertisements for ‘the real world,’ and other such motivational material. We are exposed to it as often as we are exposed to sex, fashion and head ache medication.
