DEAREST GENTLE READER, you do not know me and, rest assured, you never shall; but i certainly know you.      as the social season begins to arrive upon us we are graced with the newest of misses and seeking misters;    this author finds herself compelled to share the most curious of news that comes about during the season.     if there is a scandal, i shall uncover it.

                      a group versed based off netflix’s bridgerton.

rules:

all human verse set during the regency era in england, but your character is welcome to be from other countries / territories as long as they’re willing to visit england for the social season

though the verse is inspired by bridgerton, you don’t need to have familarity with the show. it’s essentially jane austen meets gossip girl.

due to adult themes, we ask that applicants be 18+

while the purpose of the social season is for your characters to find a husband/wife, this can be done for any number of reasons — money, status, convenience, love. that being said, things like affairs, will likely be featured and it is up to you to communicate with your writing partners about the bounds of your muses’ relationship(s)

if there’s anything about your character ( personal scandal, family scandal, being compromised in any way, your characters’ relationship progression ) that you would like lady whistledown to write about, please send in an ask!

for the purposes of this verse, “lady whistledown” is a npc ( unless you’d like your character to be whistledown, in which case please discuss with the moderators )

while societal views differed during the regency era, this verse is hugely welcoming to characters of all races, identities, and sexual orientations — we’re going to go along the lines of the show and say that it’s set in a universe where all of this is socially accepted, but whether or not you wish to bring in any kind of conflict your muse may have about their identity is up to you.

this verse is going to be lowkey and pace will be set by members so there’s will be no activity checks or requirements
