Personality

Maddy Cho is a reserved individual. She's not overly fond of social interaction and prefers to remain in her own little bubble. She can also get very anxious when in large crowds, so she tries to stay away from them as much as possible.

While she can be blunt, Maddy carefully chooses her words when she's speaking as a way of fully getting her point across. She doesn't like being misunderstood and will immediately try to rectify the situation when she is.

Background

Maddy, who was originally thought to have been killed in the same explosion that took both her parents' lives, was found a day or so later, unconscious but still alive. When she woke up, she immediately recognized that she was in a hospital. A doctor and an officer stepped into the room, both reluctant to inform the young girl of what had happened to her family.

Maddy cried on and off for two days, grieving the loss of her once lovely life.

A week later, Maddy was informed that she would be taken in by some old friends of her parents. She found herself in Excello, Utah, in a large family home with two other children.

For a while, it was thought that Maddy suffered from selective mutism. She very rarely spoke in the home, despite the family being very welcoming, and she never spoke at school. However, it was determined that this wasn't the case and that Maddy either simply didn't like speaking or had nothing to say.

Maddy excelled in school. Not quite on the level of her brother, she still possessed a genius level intellect, which made grasping new concepts and ideas easy. She was what one would consider a model student, and she graduated from high school at the top of her class.
