As we discussed in the previous post, a combination of a Karma Lord (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) and a Dharma Lord (1st, 5th, 9th) gives a Raja Yoga, more precisely a Dharma Raja Yoga.

Similarly the combination with a Karma Lord with an Artha Lord (2nd, 6th, 10th) gives an Artha Yoga, a person engaged in acquiring material assets.

That would explain why Parashara is giving the effect of

👉 acting according to their own pleasure

The 6th house know as a difficult house. Only little bit disturbance there will be felt greatly. On the contrary lucky houses like the 9th can take much more before they fall apart.

Planets placed in the 6th also take up vulnerability. The 4th Lord there is likely to take hits and thus his significations get lost. 4th house significations are, maternal happiness, emotional stability, being sober and well behaved. With the 4th in the 6th these things are likely to be lost and thus

👉 deprived of maternal happiness, angry, a thief and an evil enchanter, one is of bad disposition

I have two planets in the 6th. As a #Gemini Ascendant I have #Mars and #Saturn in #Scorpio. In Saturn’s House #Aquarius, I have #Jupiter, #Sun, #Venus, #Mercury. Saturn being the dispositor of all these planets in the 6th in an enemy house, definitely will take some serious hits, there will be delays, debts and difficulties unless my endeavors are in the spirit of service. But Mars being there, strongly situated in his own house, saves the day and gives me enough spirit to always bounce back no matter what. In my 9 nine years of marriage I had already half a dozen failed business ventures, but thanks to Mars I can laugh about it and just carry on. Once My teacher told me, that I have to first resolve the Mars Saturn Conjunction in the 6th, everything started to turn to the better for me. But more about this in my next video, stay tuned.

Having the 4th Lord in the 5th is a Raja Yoga placement. Whenever we have an interchange of the 1st, 5th and 9th Lord (Trine Lords) with the 4th, 7th and 10th Lord (Square Lords), we get a Raja Yoga, a Yoga that promises high achievements and Success.

The Square houses show, where our actions are. The 1st, regarding our self development; the 4th, regarding our pursuits of happiness; the 7th regarding our exchange with others; and in the 10th regarding our deeds towards the world. Where these lords are seated, and which planets occupy these houses, from that, we can understand the focus of the individual.

For instance, having the 3rd Lord of hobbies, sports and interests in a square house, shows a person that is much into hoobies, etc. My Brother has the 3rd Lord #Mars in his Ascendant #Virgo and sport, especially mountain climbing, is a very integer part of his self-expression and self-development. (By the way Virgo is standing for mountain areas!)

It is very instructive that interchanges of dharma Lords and Karma Lords bring success. Raja Yoga, is the astrological Language, translated into plain English it would mean: If a person is acting according to his entrancing Nature, and acts(Square houses) only out of inspiration(Trine Houses), he will achieve greatness. A the same time the person must be without hidden desires for name and fame (the 11th Lord can destroys a Raja Yoga), must not be overly entangled in his basic maintenance (the 6th Lord can stall a Raja Yoga) or distracted by different hobbies etc. (the 3rd Lord can disrub a Raja Yoga).

If one follows one’s own dharma, one’s own nature, he will be happy and flourish in live. That is what a Raja Yoga is. We can see that with the people that get success in life, money, name and fame is not in the forefront of their minds, but they simply act out of inspiration in other words they act (square houses) according to their god-given dharma (Trine houses) and that are the people we look up to and consider great. In Astrological language that is a Raja Yoga.

The 4th Lord in the 5th is such a placement, and it gives all the good stuff:

The Parashara Hora Shastra describes the 4th house as follows:

Vehicles and other such, relatives, mother, happiness, etc. as well as other such yearning, and deposits, land and houses are considered from the 4th.

The 4th house is a very variegated house. It stands for vehicles, for which Venus is karaka. It stands for mother, for which the Moon is a karaka. It stands for land and property for which Mars is a karaka. It stands for deposits as well as meditation and mantras, for which Jupiter is a karaka. Mercury is the ruler of the D-4 Varga, that shows our fair share of this world. Only Saturn and the Sun are not taking a share of the 4th house.

In Vedic consideration, Sun is the first Planet, who defines who we are and Saturn his son is the last planet, who marks the limitation of life. Within the borders of these two planets our life happens, in-between these two planets all the other planets move and the 4th house is at its core.

All we expect of life, all that seems worth working for, is given by the 4th house. With the 4th in the 4th we have for sure a planet that is in good dignity. Being in his own house makes a planet very capable of taking care his house and a native with the 4th in the 4th will have

👉 all riches,

in the sense of having all the desirable things, like family happiness, savings, property and vehicles.

Women usually like men who are having all these things, right, so,

👉 beloved by women

The inner psychology is seen from the 4th also, if one is sober inside he will also be

👉 possessed of good character

I suggest, that the knowledge and cleverness mentioned here by Parashara, is more of intuitive nature, since the 4th house is rather a place of physic activities then ratio.

From earlier posts your might have seen, that I am huge fan of the third house. As far I can see, if the third house has some issues, the chart cannot unfold itself. If we express this in a non astrological way, we can say: “Unless you are ready to go through the initial difficulties and are ready to put in the work of self improvement, no matter what you do, great success will not be likely.“.

If we want to have quality relationships (7th house) we have to improve ourselves and need to learn communication skills (3rd House).

If we want to have spiritual realizations or higher degrees in any academical field (9th house), we have to go though the pain of learning and mastering the basics first (3rd House).

If we want to express ourselves creatively, for instance through music or painting (5th House), we have to make our body a suitable vessel with the needed mastery of skills to let the creativity flow through us freely (3rd House).

Like this we can go on an on. Interestingly the ruler of the natural 3rd house, #Gemini, is #Mercury, the planet of skills, but the planet ruling the subject matters of the 3rd house is #Mars, the spirited soldier who goes out and faces the difficulties and makes things happen.

According to my observation, if the third house is weak it is similar to having a weak Mars. In this case people may have potential (#Jupiter, #Sun), they may have the karmic sanctioning (#Saturn), but they do not pick themselves up to make things happen.

However if the 4th Lord, a house of activity, a driving house that sets us up for happiness, goes to the third, the all these good things are going will potentially happen.

👉The lord of Happiness in the Sibling – the born is a valorous and virtuous one joined with servants and one who, illustrious, free from disease and charitable, has acquired wealth with his own hands.

The 4th Lord of happiness going to the 2nd Lord of wealth, what can go wrong? In #Vedicastrology, the 2nd house is called the house of wealth but it is rather the house of resources. What we need is provided. But often we want more then we need. We do not need a nice car, but it is nice to have one. Cars are seen from the 4th house. We do not need own land and property, we can just rent, but it is nice to have. The 4th house indicates land and properties. We do not need an excess bank balance and big savings, but it is nice to have. Savings are seen from the 4th house.

If the 4th Lord will go to the 2nd, that will bring a surplus to the 2nd house, that person will have more of the good things, more then needed. Therefore

👉 possessed of every kind of wealth

The 4 Lord is a karma Lord, a Lord of the Kendra, and as such gives information about the fields of activities of the native. Going to the 2nd house, a house of “artha”, shows a focus on acquiring wealth.

👉devoted to enjoyments

The happiness a persons feels (4th house) will be very much connected with 2nd house matters. What kind of second house matters depends of the planet and the sign. For instance my brother has the 4th Lord #Jupiter in the 2nd house #Libra. He values equal rights in his family life and friendly creative exchange. My wife for instance has the 4th Lord #Saturn in the 2nd House #Scorpio and she values a stern exchange that has psychological depth. With the 4th Lord in the 2nd the they seek for happiness in this way.

👉 associated with family

Having the 4th in the 2nd sets the expectation towards life rather high. Depending on the health of the planets involved in this yoga, the expectation might be reached, then the person becomes

👉esteemed

or they may promise more then they can provide and thus are

👉 deceptive,

wanting more then they can have they may act in an immature manner

👉 rash

To have the 4th Lord in the 1st house is a very lucky placement. The 4th House is our happiness, our comfort of home and vehicles, and also the comfort and nurturing we get from our mother.

The 4th house is the portion of the sky that is most hidden, opposite the 10th house that it right up in the sky, above our head for everyone to see. The 4th house is a moksha house, a house of letting go of the stress of the world and relax.

By it’s basic nature the material atmosphere is stressful and pain inflicting. Therefore the personification of material nature, Mother Druga, is depicted with a trident, with which she is punishing the demons. The demons are we, when we are neglecting our inherent nature and the calling of the soul for unconditional love and service to the Divine, and the Trident is the constent sufferings we are facing from our own body and mind (adiatmika tapa), from other living beings (adibhautika tapa) and from the Gods, thing like bad weather, natural disasters, pandemics, (adidaivika tapa).

Therefore happiness in this world is infact only the freedom of distress, in other words moksha, and therefore the 4th house, a moksha house is the house of feeling happy.

If our 4th is in a good condition, we are less effected and more liberated form the inevitable sufferings that comes with an incarnation in this 3D world. Those who realize this, are usually those who start a spiritual pursuit seriously and move to the 2nd moksha house, the 8th house and dive deep in to transformation of their being and working out all their attachments and eventually reach the 12th house, where they will be ready to give up all attachment to this “asat” world of untruth and threefold miseries.

However I digress. The 4th Lord in the 1st is a Raja Yoga placement. A Kendra Lord (4th, 7th, 10th) in a Kona (1st, 5th, 9th). This shows a person being very content being themselves, not bother what the world says and having all the goods things mentioned my Parashara in this verse unless the yoga is stalled by the 3rd, 6th or 11th Lord:

The lord of Happiness abiding in the Lagna – the born is adorned with knowledge and character, and joined with land and vehicles and endowed with maternal happiness.

Interesting is, that in the combinations with the 3rd Lord we had 5 times a connection to the spouse: 👉3rd in 10th as well as the 3rd in the 4th spoke of maintaining a spoiled spouse, 👉3rd in the 9th, as well as the 3rd in the 12th, spoke of fortunate through women. 👉3rd in the 5th spoke about maintaining a cruel spouse

I wish it would make sense to me right now, but long story short, it doesn’t. If some inspiration will hit me in the future, I will let you know. But whether it makes sense or not, the words of the sages hold true.

I have two good friends with the 3rd Lord in the 12th. One is a Virgo Ascendant with Mars in Leo and the other is a Pisces Ascendant with Venus in Aquarius. In both cases, they were before their marriage very much floating in the air. No fixed place to stay no real prospectives in life and I believe it is safe to say that through their spouse they got a significant upgrade.

For me, it is, again and again, amazing how the words of the Vedas are so true, even though we might not always be able to understand it fully.

Besides the 3rd and 11th, the 6th is also an upachaya house, so a similar thing we saw in the combination of the 3rd in the 6th, that said, "excessively rich". The 11th house is generally known as the house of gains. The 3rd, the 7th, and 11th are kama houses, that express our desires. The 3rd expresses our desires in terms of activities we like to do, like hobbies, etc. The 7th expresses our desires in terms of relationships and what we expect from others. The 11th expresses our desires in terms of fame and recognition.

Titles, certificates, and degrees are seen from the 11th house. I suggest that since the 3rd house is also a house of difficulty it brings some difficulty in achieving higher degrees form universities etc, and thus a person would have the ability and intelligence for going for higher study but does not go for it. Thus: 👉 intelligent though deficient in learning

My brother and my mother have this placement, and both are not holding any college degree. But they have a lot of general knowledge from reading many books.

The quality 👉rash does not so much apply to them. That might be since in my mother’s case the third lord is the slow-moving Saturn, and he is in Virgo, ruled by the well-organized Mercury. In my brother's case it is the sober and gentle Venus, sitting in Gemini ruled by the well-organized Mercury and conjunct the wise Jupiter.

All the influences are good and the 3rd Lord is in both cases in friendly signs. The unfavorable quality of being rash, is thus not prevalent but the favorable quality mentioned here by Parasha is very much. They are always ready to help. 👉 one serving another

According to Parashara though there is one set back for this placement the women in his life will be an obstacle:

I have a friend with this placement and as far I can tell, he is always very lucky and up to great achievements but as far I can tell, underwent a lot of tribulation due to women.

In his chart, this is even more supported by Rahu in the 7th house, the house of partnership. Wherever Rahu is placed a lot of insecurity and trials and errors will be, and things get only peaceful and worked at with maturity after the age of 42.

Such will be in his endevours (3rd) always strive for philosophical alignemnt (9th) and higher learnings.

These are the obvious effects, but Parshara is talking here about not very obvious effects such as 👉deprived of paternal happiness, once again it is quite a mistery to me why this should be the case, but it is actually true. How I know? I have this placement. As a Gemini Ascendant my 3rd Lord Sun is in Aquarius, the 9th House.

My father is not the type father that was anytime really fun. Last year, when after long time I went home, I suggested for a hike with my father and my son, just to have a great day together, but in the end it was fine, but not the way I would experience is as really fun and a happy day. My father was just giving the pace of walking that was not suitable for my son and I had to carry him most of the time to keep up and had to rush through the forst without much relishment. Parashara’s assesment is indeed to the point. And that is the whole point about these Bhava-Yogas we are discussing here. The Ancient sages had vision that is beyond our intellecutal abilites and therefore we have to accept their assesments with faith and trust!

And what can I say. My wife is great!😊 @rani_kenzelmann 👉 fortune through women, and by the way as and astrolgoer, most of our clients are female.

In a luck house such as the 9th, for instance planet more easily do good and it takes much more to break things.

In addtionn is the 3rd the 8th from the 8th, which gives this placement a very strongl 8th house conotation.

Another important aspect of the 8th house is, that it is the 2nd of the 7th, which meansother people ‘s money. That explains the yoga result assigned by Parashara: 👉 the person born is a born thief, because all his endeavors (3rd house) are the wealth of others. That might not necessary be the person really takes the money of others, but it could also mean that the native does not have own ideas and core beliefs but lives on those of others.

Some one I know has the third Lord Sun in the 8th, in Capricorn. The Sun is our creative vision in live, the ideals that hold up and strive for. At least it seams to me that this person has never thought for herself and lived her life simply the the playbook society gives. All convictions, all the ideals and understanding of good an evil is according to what the mainstream dictates. 👉 disposed to slaving away for his livelihood, being a slave means to be working nor for once one benefit but more for the benefit of others, which holds true for the said person. The Efforts she is doing in her job, as well as in the marriage are always more then she gets from it back. 👉 dies at a king’s door. 🤔 I have to admit, this one eludes me. Does anyone of you have an idea how to interpret that? It might me that, after working the whole life for others, one can only hope a higher position but only makes it maximum to the doorstep.

What I am trying to do with these series of House Lords through Houses is to prove, that these verses Parashara gave are perfect and were applying 5000 years ago as they apply today.

This is my mission in life. I want to give people access to the immense wealth of spiritual knowledge still accessible in the #Vedas. For me the main scriptures I refer to is the Bhagavad-Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam for the spiritual part and for the Astrology I refer to my teachers Ernst Wilhelm and Arya Brighu who are directly teaching Astrology from the Vedic texts.

If it is said children, it may mean everything that we create. If it is said wife, it is not necessarily only the spouse but also Household, (that comes with marriage etc). If it says offspring, it may mean to leave a legacy.

So for this particular verse, King may mean, government, it might be any employer, it might be any authority figure, it might even be the husband or wife. This might be, because all our efforts and endeavors (3rd House) are invested in others (7th house), and usually this will take the nature of serving some person in a higher rank, therefore King.

I have two charts with this placement. For my father in Law Jupiter is the 3rd Lord is exalted in #Cancer the 7th house. When Parashara speaks here of 👉inimical siblings, it does not mean that there is an open war between siblings. Depending on the condition of the Planet and the Rashi it will be worse or better. Some aspects of that, we have covered in the last posts.

I have a good friend with this placement and I asked him about that, and he said that he has a very good relationship with his brother. Is Parashara’s statement wrong? Let’s have a closer look:

He is an Cancer Ascendant with Mercury the 3rd Lord in Sagittarius the 6th House. What is Sagittarius about? Sagittarius is a house ruled by Jupiter. It’s symbol is a Men on a horse aiming an Arrow, symbolizing warrior spirit and onepointedness and purpose. Jupiter is the planet of divine purpose and deeper meaning, and Sagittarius being the 9th Sign counted from Aries is also about religious beliefs, moral and the divine purpose of Life.

Now Mercury is the planet of communication and friendship.

The case with my friend and his brother is, that in general they have a very good relationship, but when it comes to the subject matters indicated by Sagittarius (religious belief and purpose in life) there can be big disagreements. So they just simply do not touch this topic to keep the peace.

I suggest that the same is also in regard to the 👉maternal uncles and their wife's.

Now only one point is left: 👉 excessively rich:

Once again, that point is a bit mysterious to me, but however one way to look at it would be:

The 6th house is the 4th from the 3rd. The 3rd is the 2nd of the 2nd and as such holds a secondary 2nd house signification. The 4th House is the place of luxuries and surplus wealth beyond just the needed for maintenance. In this sense a person might become excessively rich.

There is another concept we have to talk about. That is called the “bhavat bhavam”. That means the house from the house. For instance the 2nd form the 2nd is the 3rd, so the 3rd is the “bhavat bhavam” of the 2nd and as such holds a secondary meaning of the 3rd house.

The “bhavat bhavam” of the 3rd house is the 5th. For instance, if we want to see a persons artistic skills, such as drawing and writing, which is generally seen from the 3rd, we also have to look at the condition of the 5th. That makes lot of sense, to support a skill (3rd house) we need creativity (5th house). [Similar meanings can be understood from all the “bhavat bhavams” …..] This means that the 5th house has a supportive agenda to the 3rd house and the 3rd Lord feels reinforced being in the 5th house and as well reinforces the 5th house. We can see in this yoga, that both the main meanings of the 5th (children) and the 3rd (development of skills) are sure to manifest in the native’s life if the 3rd Lord goes to the 5th: 👉having children, joined with good qualities.

Already in the last yoga, 3rd in the 4th and now again the 3rd in the 5th Parashara mentions a cruel spouse. 👉Maintains a cruel spouse if that is joined or aspected by a Kruura.

Why? Honestly, this doesn’t make sense to me. 🤷‍ However this would be one way to look at it: The 3rd house is a cruel house that brings challenges and difficulties. It is the 9th from the 7th, the house of the spouse and would as such define the morality of the spouse, being in the 5th that has a secondary 3rd house meaning, would make the spouse strongly 3rd house “natured” (new word creation), which leads to a cruel spouse if further influenced by a cruel planet. However, I would say that his is not the meaning of very mallefic satanstic cruelty but rather a spouse that is very challenging. Thanks!

These 4 “Strengths” will determine how much potential for good and how much potential for bad a planet has. If we take this yoga, 3rd Lord in the 4th., there is one negative result mentioned, 👉 endures supporting a spoilt spouse

If the planets potential to to bad is much higher, we can rather expect the spouse to be very spoilt. If the potential to do good is higher, the wife will not be very spoilt.

There are 9 different Dignities a planet can have. There are points assigned to each Dignity to illustrate the strength of that position. The power to do good or bad is expressed in a number. 60 the strongest power to do good, 0 is neutral, neither good nor bad and -60 is the worst it can get.

I will list below the 9 different Dignities a planet can have, together with the points assigned. The Dignity is assigned according to the placement in the zodiac:

Exaltation → +60

Moola Trikona → +45

Own House → +30

Great Friend’s House → +22

Friend’s House → +11

Neutral’s House → 0

Enemy’s House → -56

Great Enemy’s House → -58

Debilitation → -60

With the 3rd Lord in the 3rd we have either a planet in his Moola Trikona or in his Own House. (Swipe to the second image to see where which planet has his Moola Trikona.) Many yogas have mixed results, they can give good and bad. Depending on his strength each planet will have power to do good and bad. We will talk about these different strength in future posts, but simplified we can say that a planet in positiv Dignities gives good results and in negative dignities the planet gives bad results.

By definition has the 3rd Lord in the 3rd a good dignity, no wonder it will indicate: 👉 endowed with the happiness of co-borns 👉 joined with wealth and children,

The 3rd house is the 2nd of the 2nd and as such has a secondary 2nd house (wealth) indication. To have a strong 3rd house means thus to have wealth and resources. 👉 merry and delightfully comfortable,

Having a strong 3rd house will make a person very enthusiastic and will be positive minded. Instead sub-coming to negativity and lethargy, they will face any difficulties and take them as a challenge to improve themselves. Naturally such persons will be cheerful and merry, and they will be good company.
