Ben Solo: The Once & Future Jedi
In Arthurian myths, it is prophecied that when Britain is at its greatest need, King Arthur will return again to reign.
Therefore, some call King Arthur, the Once & Future King.
The connection of WBW, Hyperspace, Mythology and possibly Skywalker
Hyperspace is the path that ships take to go from one system to another, they enter hyperspace using Force speed in specific places and leave specific places, people cannot navigate blindly, if they do that they can end up leaving in a dangerous place and die, to navigate you need specific coordinates or be guided by the Force, it is hyperspace that makes the entire plot of Star Wars possible since without it systems and species could not interact in that way, we would not have an empire or a republic , the largest part of the galaxy otherwise the whole would be in complete isolation
But what is Hyperspace exactly? It's basically an alternate dimension where time and space work a little differently which allows for these trips, but the real question is how does this connect to the mythology of the Force and that's what I hope Ahsoka's series definitively answers, but we can analyze the clues we have, and in Rebels we see many of these clues, the first is the wolves of Lothal that apparently use this dimension to get the heroes to the other side of the planet, the wolves have a fundamental role as guardians of the World Between Worlds, therefore mystical creatures linked to the Force
But wolves are not the main creatures to master this ability, the Purrgils are beings who literally live in space and who are known to use Hyperspace to move around, they would even have inspired the creation of space travel in this galaxy, these creatures are responsible for the disappearance of Ezra and Thraw, but in the image of Ahsoka's portal we see that they are around the portal they intend to access as well as the wolves of Lothal, which indicates that they are possibly guardians as well as the wolves
These portals lead to the World Between Worlds, a unique dimension where basically all time and space are converted, so it is possible that Hyperspace functions as a network of tunnels or a kind of railroad that allows the passage of beings and that connects directly to the World Between Worlds
In Thrawn's book he says that on his planet children capable of using the Force are used as guides in space travel since they do not have onboard computers, so they use the Force to guide ships safely in hyperspace these children receive the sky-walker title, they are usually girls, and in all cases the powers disappear as the person gets older
We know that in Star Wars the miscegenation of species is common, there are beings that are children of more than one species, like the son of Hera and Kanan, so it would not be impossible that an ancestor of Shmi was a Chiss that for some reason lived far from the its people, settled and formed a family with a human and that over the generations the appearance became completely human and the past Chiss was forgotten, this would justify the origin of the name of this family and give them a new meaning
So if this is correct hyperspace is connected to the World Between Worlds and the Skywalker family name represents a title given to someone who guides people through this dimension to their destinations.
Myth, not man.
Fable, not female.
To love this pair requires a reading of the characters as mythic rather than realistic. They complete each other as symbols, evocations of the awesome transcendent forces of light-dark, peace-violence, and life-death. Embodying such great and universal forces, they must be over the top, pushing and pulling each other in astoundingly violent and overwhelmingly gentle ways.
Interpreting them literally - mass murderer and easily trusting/corrupted girl - is to miss their amazing essences. These are characters created in the fashion of George Lucas, of Joseph Campbell, of world myths. They are not so banal as to be held down by the tepid constraints of real life relationships. They are divine union, transcendent reality, and unrestrained rebirth and destruction found when a person abandons being oneself for being two.
âŚ.So, these are the thoughts I had following a conversation about loving Ben Solo while esteeming Rey.Â
Iâm ready to get hurt again. đŤ

It's probably not fair to compare the Kylo Ren discourse to the discourse involving a villain who is from a cautionary take written by a woman who reiterates day in and out that he is super duper evil and the heroine is better off without him. The discourse isn't mild just because he's hot; it's mild because the antis know canon is on their side. The Kylo Ren antis were lashing out harder because they felt insecure about where things were going.
I can get behind this.
Comparison: Kylo Ren and Mr. Darcy [1 of ?]
Reportedly, actors who auditioned for Kylo Ren read from Pride & Prejudice in place of the infamously protected Star Wars movie script.
Bonus: Unsurprisingly, these two characters donât seem to read the moment wellâŚ
Act IV Day 3 of A Day in the Life of TchaikovsKYLO Ren is here! Only two acts left!!
Rey has a freaky vision of her dark (and very confident) self! Meanwhile, Kylo has his time-sensitive orders from Ovaltine. Rey already rejected him yet again but he canât give up! Will he be able to convince her? Will she finally accept her darkness and join him? Watch our favorite stubborn dyad soulmates fight it out over the most dramatic music EVER!Â
The rest of the series is here along with the Tchaikovsky playlists. This video is dedicated to @pandoraspocksao3 @blackeyedlily and @maryloki3000 many thanks for all the patience, love, and support <3
This is the best parody ever on the Sequel Trilogy. The wits, the humor, perfectly a tempo with Tchaikovsky. You can tell it was a great inspiration for Williamsâ own music.
I am grateful for this community, thank you @psy-kylo-gy!
Reblog if you still believe in Reylo!!!
I believe!!!
I do.

Truth should be judged by Truth, & nothing else.
Not even Gender, Race, Age, Privilege, Religion.
By being Rich White Male, do not made a person less credible, when come to seeking truth, when compare to a Poor Woman of Color.
Being a Female of Color myself, i find it insulting that i can only be trusted by my gender & race & poverty state?
Yes we do not know Adam ourselves, but we have his co-leads witnesses, famed directors, extra-witnesses who worked in Annette, Marriage Story, Blackkklanman, BurnThis, Last Duel, Star Wars, Girls... none reported negatively. We don't know him, but they all did.
We listen to women's witnesses, people of Color's witnesses, minority religious people, poor people, elderly people... all need us to be patient to hear them, their feelings of hurt are valid. Then we take responsiblity to search the Truth to verify what they said, which may turned out they are sincerely wrong, unknowingly mistaken, overly sensitive, like ourselves often do.
If we blindly trust a witness because its a Female, a People of Color, a Poor person, not famous person, just based on this, & not on truth of her words. You are NOT HELPING her. Nor helping those people who will learn from this incident wrongly.
Same, if you deny understanding to someone just because he is a Rich White Male, you do not just wronged him unfairly, you are teaching the next GenerationZ wrong methods to analyse truth, not using unbiased critical thinking.
*****
The scene that involved required (a very impulsive by nature) Toby to stand up abruptly from chair, to rush to stop villain Miiskin save Angelina, whom he will tortured/killed.
Its a scripted action that was crucial to the scene, you can't just blamed Adam for not being gentle, not caring that he is Huge in size, when it's a fault solely belong to the prop crews or production who wanted to place Extras seated so near to Adam when he stood & repeatedly knocked her. Where were the site assistant, why not instantly moved the Extras l table further away?
Did Adam apologized? Why anyone bother to mention he did apologize if he ever? It's been 4 yrs, why no one from the other extras, to the site crews revealed this flaws & addressed this?
Why don't concerned fans approach The Movie Production, TMWKDQ Director himself, to request the truth, seek apology, than to seek vengeance on The Art In The Armed Force. When the Clearer report revealed by Ms Lidia Franco, yet not many willing to correct those who maliciously still using the 1st erreous podcast to kick Adam? By now there are so many Web articles that only reported the Wrong podcast, not the Right one that Ms Franco changed later.
****
SW is about Hope, Love, Grace. If Leia is about Hope, Padme on Love, Rey is definitely Grace.
Grace to forgive someone who loved her & shown hope of changing. Actually Rey is all 3: Hope, Love, Grace. She hopes Ben will turn, she love him even while he was flawed, she is gracious to forgive him when he turned, without having him to earn it.
So many just talked about Bendemption, without showing patient & forgiveness to Adam.
This is not about Blindly idolized a Star to accept all his sins. I can understand it, when everyone think he assault Ms Lidia, but when the truth out that it's part of script he had to stand up abruptly & knocked her. Many Reylos still never help to refute Antis (which are mostly other shippers like F*nn/Rey shippers) who continued to say Adam assault woman.
So much about Bendemption is hypocrisy, when the very thing Adam was faulted was exactly what Kylo Ren's traits was, you would forgive Kylo being impulsive, temperamental, but you wouldn't even wait for more statement from Adam's PR Agent, to explain his case.
When we do not practice Hope in a 'suspect' that he can turn, do not Love him enough to trust whatever we have known of him, and do not have Grace Enough to forgive, then we are talking about Bendemption, without practice believing everyone deserved redemption. We do not even trust or hope more truth will show he already felt sorry for hurt her. We immediately throw out a "Listen to a Woman" Card when this issue, isnt she was being bullied because of her gender, of his 'bullying' has anything related to his gender.
Do We only lust after Adam? Whatever we talked about Bendemption stay in SW, we don't practice in real Live? We use Rights movement to judge him on racism, sexists, islamphobia & harass AITAF? All becuse he is Rich White Male. If Ben Solo didn't leave Leia, he will also be a Rich White Male, the Privileged Prince of Princess of Alderaan, who also happened to have temper issue? And we never trust the Adam we know, from positive remarks from casts behind BurnThis, Annette, Blackkklanman, Marriage Story. All esteemed him highly.
We do not deserved Ben. Neither do we deserve Adam.
Remember how Ben was a metaphor for struggling children rebelling against parents and moving from adolescence to adulthood and trying to find their way? Guess the message was unless you were the perfect child, you didn't deserve to be with your family ever.
I honestly, really and truly thought this meant they would never dream of doing this to him. The two posts before I had to admit the leaks were true are literally me going on about what fucking scumbags theyâd have to be to do this. To sit in interviews and say that shit, to encourage vulnerable people and kids to identify with him, to go even harder ramping up to this film underscoring he was a child and victim and in need of help he never received.
I thought being the last Skywalker and being knowingly, intentionally and decisively a touchstone for lost children whom they seemed to invest so much in creating, for whom theyâd made the stakes so high meant there was no way in fuck they could ever, ever do this. They couldnât possibly mean to treat iconic characters like this, to kill off the entire original cast for nothing, to destroy their happiness and victory for nothing; they couldnât possibly be so callous with something millions of people care about?
They HAVE TO KNOW making this already sympathetic character more and more and more relatable and loveable and vulnerable while telling a story which makes him above all a victim of the Skywalker legacy who has never once since conception had a chance to be his own person because of it and then saying heâs unworthy to carry it was a fucking HORRIFYING take. They said thatâs a lonely little boy whose parents failed him who is trying his best to find any ANY sense of safety in the world by becoming what theyâve all told him he was all his life. Someone so desperate to give love, his compassion is spilling out all over the place even when heâs wrapped himself up in graveclothes and a machine-like mask.
They wrote him as coming of age and they had him fall in love with a similar lonely young soul and they told us this was a fairy tale about hope. They made the culmination and healing of the legacy of Star Wars and the resolution of he new ST protagonistâs arc the same thing- everything is pushing towards this perfect capstone. You can deliver everything and actually add something genuinely meaningful and significant to this epic saga, make it richer and more complete. They told us this was about hope, about a real ending, about everything SW was ever about, about a myth for kids that would help us understand our own comings of age.
And JJ fuckface Abrams sat in an interview and said this on 13 December 2019
The Skywalker Saga is and has always been a family story. But I do think that complexity, the question of if the son of Han & Leia can be turned to the dark side canât any of us, what is it to be the kid of these heroes.
Like the basic lack of fucking decency, the disregard for a beloved cultural institution, the message of âhope you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps children because if you canât you donât deserve love and if you canât get your shit together without any love then you deserve to die!â Knowing what heâs saying. He knows.
In the franchise which asked you to love Darth fucking Vader unconditionally and made ZERO apologies for it because anyone can be saved and everyone is deserving of compassion. I genuinely⌠I just genuinely⌠how dare they.
Itâs the most horrifying subversion to the prodigal son parable, huh.
Kylo Ren is dead, Ben Solo is alive, this is The Rise of Skywalker.
Also Reylo is canon XD

ben solo heâs an abuse victim thatâs not even a metaphor or an interpretation itâs just text he never had a fucking chance and the thesis of this fucking film is that no one should care about him because he was damaged by it because his parents bad parenting fucked him up they should get a better kid they all die for him and it still manages to convey that he doesnât matter STAGGERING Last Skywalker Last Solo Prince of Dust and Ashes thrown in a pit for being born his motherâs son and left to climb out of it by himself while his family helps someone else a metaphor for his whole fucking life and then he gets to fucking die and NO ONE MOURNS HIM NO ONE CARES we have the Good Child now
I fucking gasped when I heard Anakin giving pep talk to Rey, like bring balance like I did

What balance I ask you, ACID-BASE BALANCE OR WHAT. Also Rey grinds her teeth too much does she have parasites or what

I promise I am not sending this in bad faith but it kind of surprises me that so many intelligent and well-read people in the Reylo fandom did not see Benâs death coming in a mainstream American piece of media aimed family audiences. Unfortunately, a (redeemed) murderous villain settling down with the heroine was never a realistic expectation to have from such a massive franchise. Especially not on screen. But I can see them bringing him back in a book with a niche readership.
Not meaning to be rude, but it 100% was a reasonable expectation to have. Star Wars is (was) very unique among American franchises. It already eschews many models of American storytelling.
The entire Force in the OT is based on your âfeelingsâ, a concept ridiculed by modern unsentimental storytelling and culture. Luke is told to âtrust his feelings.â Luke wins not because he physically overpowers Vader or Palpatine but because he throws away his weapon because violence will only turn him to darkness, declares that he wonât fight Vader because he âis a Jedi, like his father before himâ, and is saved by Anakin coming to his senses and redeeming himself by protecting Luke after Luke shows true love and compassion for his father. The day is not won by punching a guy, as it usually is in American storytelling. The day is won because a son refused to fight and instead merely reminded his father that he loved him.
Star Wars is explicitly based on mythic storytelling as interpreted and given lens by Joseph Campbell. As in, Lucas was friends with Campbell and literally told Campbell so. Lucas intended, very clearly, to make a story in the fashion of old myth. And in the fashion of old myth, old men may die, but youth must live. Lucas even is quoted as saying, âI believe you are redeemed through your children.â Ben, being young, being the child in this scenario and not the father, 110% should have lived under SWâs original mythic logic.
I have explained why Ben needed to live here in this pre TROS post and I stand by the logic which TROS abandoned and which therefore breaks the integrity of the story. Anakin did not die as Vader because it was punishment. It was framed as a release for an old man who had suffered for twenty years in a broken body. Obi Wan, Luke, and Han dying also do not die to be punished because they are old men who lived their lives fully and now die with purpose. Ben is none of these things and his death is a cynical exception.
It is pandering to the lowest common denominator to act like SW was always this way. Original Star Wars was created explicitly to counter the cynical American storytelling you are talking about.
âRather than do some angry, socially relevant filmâŚI realized there was another relevance that is even more important â dreams and fantasies, getting children to believe there is more to life than garbage and killingâŚOnce I got into STAR WARS, it struck me that we had lost all that â a whole generation was growing up without fairy tales. You just donât get them anymore, and thatâs the best stuff in the world â adventures in far-off lands. Itâs fun.â (x)
âYou canât, and how do you explain a Wookiee to an audience, and how do you get the tone of the film right, so itâs not a silly childâs film, so itâs not playing down to people, but it is still an entertaining movie and doesnât have a lot of violence and sex and hip new stuff? So it still has a vision to it, a sort of wholesome, honest vision about the way you want the world to be.â (x)
Anyway. I am trying not to be aggressive but I have answered so many asks on this topic in the past. Those of us who insisted that Ben needed to live did not do so with some blind spot in our literary vision. Star Wars, until TROS, was not a Marvel movie, was not an âAmerican storyâ, was very explicitly textually by its creator built on ancient myth and non-cynicism. Ben dying breaks the integrity of this ancient myth logic and it therefore breaks star wars. SW wasnât about, in Georgeâs words, âgarbage and killing.â That it has now betrayed itself isnât my problem or our fault for believing in the shape of Georgeâs vision, not sorry.
If you really thought Star Wars is this moral tutelage about punishment and vindictive justice then youâve been watching the wrong films. This is the story where forgiveness, compassion, and the cheesiest most impossible-seeming types of love win the day. As this brilliant post points out, Vader didnât die as punishment for his sins - his death was an act of deliverance and he died remembered as a good man who saved his son and returned to who he used to be.
So⌠for Ben to return to the light side, save the life of his dyad in the Force, ⌠and still die? No. Iâm sorry, but that is cynical beyond all bounds of reason or expectation. Donât even try to tell me it was by any measure appropriate.Â
TROS was a betrayal of everything that came before it, in terms of values, storytelling, and the message of hope. It demonstrated nothing but complete irreverence to the characters and legacy.
I still can't believe Beaumont apparently helps Rey with the Jedi texts after Yoda, the great Jedi master himself, said that they don't contain anything Rey doesn't already know...Just another way they were humbling Rey down to be more palatable to those who cried Mary Sue
I have a feeling his âhelpâ amounted to hovering around Rey and loudly showing off his knowledge of lore while Rey tried to read and was just like, âUh-huh. Yep. Interesting. Wow, youâre still here, huh.â
This is one of the most misquoted and misunderstood sentences of TLJ. Yoda doesnât speak figuratively, but quite literally here.
Yoda: âThat library (=the physical place where the books were kept) contains nothing (=the books) that young Rey already possessesâ (=Yoda knows Rey has taken the books with her)
A very Yoda way to say that what he just blew up contained nothing of value.
