Folks, Chihayafuru's Master/Queen match was the best damn match of my life.

Just... holy fuck. I was only planning to watch a couple episodes tonight, but once things got rolling I was locked in and couldn't look away. That was incredible. And it manages the rare feat of making me root for every single player just as hard. I wanted Inakuma to win and prove the strength of motherhood! I wanted Shinobu to win and find genuine joy in the connections she's made! I wanted Harada to win for the sake of old legends everywhere! I wanted to Suou to win so his aunt could celebrate and he could make peace with his disability! Every single player had an incredible story built up over countless episodes, all climaxing at once in a desperate brawl to see who's personal narrative would triumph. And it. Fucking. RULED. This is the best Chihayafuru's been and it's not even particularly close.
